Why did you choose this position?: I just want to teach, I know that is not a very good answer but I love teaching and it's so much fun.

Professor Llestrix walked into the classroom. She was eager to start the year. She had been planing since she found out abou the job. Her wand flicked and letters appeared on the board 'Welcome to Defense Against The Dark Arts Year One'. She took off her sweater and placed it on her chair, her clothes looked freshly pressed and rich in colour. She had honey blonde hair and a fresh wound on her face below her right eye. She flicked her wand and a piece of paper appeared on each students desk.

The bell rang and the students started piling in. Professor Lestrixe took her stance at the front of the room. When the student sat down she said "Welcome to Defense Against The Dark Arts year one. I hope that we will have fun this year and learn alot. I am a hands on teacher so we will be encountering alot this year. My rules and how I will be grading you are on the sheet on your desk so you may take a look now"

The students fliped over the pages making a whooshing sound. The paper said:

RULES

1. No talking

2. If I catch you cheating that homework assignment won't count and you will have detention.

3. If you would like to get private help or extra credit please come to me after class to discuss it.

4. If your not having fun then I am a very bad teacher.

Grading

All homework and classwork assignments will be graded on a basic grading scale. 0 points = failure; 10 = excellence. All assignments will contain at least 10 questions, each answer will be worth 1-2 points.

Exams will have no more than 10 questions and the hand on part is graded by completion, each answer will be worth 50 points. When the exam paper is placed on the student's desk (face down) they must role play flipping the paper over to begin. Each exam is worth 500 points which will translate into 10 points - excellence. 50 points are deducted for every incorrect and blank answer. Answers that are correct but were'nt in the correct format will be given half (25 points) the credit. It is imperative that all students answer exam and test questions in their entirety with complete sentences. The grading for exams is as follows.

500-475 = 10 points and an "O" for Outstanding.

474-450 = 9 points and an "E" for Eceeds Expectations

449-425 = 8 points and an "A" for Acceptable

424-400 = 7 points and an "F" for Fair

399-300 = 6 points and a "P" for Poor.

299-200 = 5 points and a "D" for Dreadful.

199-200 = 0 points and a "T" for Troll.


When the students were finished professor Lestrixe said "I know it is a little confusing as far as grading is concerned but if you have any questions I will be happy to answer them. I have also provided a syllabus so you know what we are doing.

Professor Lestrixe then said "As you can see we will be learning about Vamipres today. So please open your textbooks to page 5.



There are many different kinds of vampires, and people try to use different names with them. What I have gathered over the years is:

A benign, Mortal or Guradia Morta vampire is a good vampire that is mortal and only drinks the blood of animals. They have the usual traits of a vampire which is pale white skin, glissening white teeth (No fangs), and rock hard skin. They can go out into the sunlight but it feels like needles are poking them. So they'd rather not.

A Guardia Immorta are vampires that drink the blood of animals, are immortal and help humans. Since they never get old they have to move if they present themselves as civilized. They have all of the usual traits pale white, rock hard skin, glisstening white, razor sharp teeth (yet again no fangs). When they are hungry their eyes become black, when they are well fed their eyes range from amber to gold.


Malicious Immorta are vampires that drink the blood of humans. They are immortal but are not usually civilized so they do not need to move for their safety. They do move however but this is just when they get bored of a city. They usually have bright red eyes because of their diet. They have rock hard, pale white skin, glisstening white teeth (They can have retractable fangs if they were never Guardia Immorta, otherwise they are just razor sharp). They can go out into the sunlight but if they were Guardia Immorta then their skin is like a million diamonds. If they were never Guardia Immorta then they burn in the sunlight. "


Professor Lestrixe stoped talking and looked at some of their faces to see if they were ok. Most of them seemed fine others were a little shaky. Professor Lestrixe started again "So now I have told you all of the types of vampires I know of. We still have 30 minutes until the class is over so I will tell you a little bit more then I have a special treat for you. Oh, I also mentioned things like if they were never Guardia Immorta. You see when a vampire is created it chooses to go a certain life. If the vampire chose to just drink human blood then like I said it burns in the sunlight and has retractable fangs (Malicious Immorta). If it chooses to drink human blood then does not like that life then it can chose to be Guardia Immorta. So Guardia Immorta and Malicious Immorta are just ways of life that lead to changes of their body and immune system.

Onto how to get rid of a vampire. For Benign, Mortal and Guardia Morta vampires they are mortal so they get older and die of old age but they have rock hard skin so it cannot be pennetrated. However fire and the oldest trick in the book which is a stake through the heart can destroy them.

For Guardia Immorta they are not usually destroyed because they protect humans and are no harm to them. However if they are wrongly accused then scorching hot flames can destroy them but that is about it.

For Malicious Immorta fire is also key but if you take out their fangs (If they were not once Guardia Immorta) then that can destroy them from the inside out.


I hope I did not scare you too much this lesson, but you have all been good and payed attention so now for the treat I promised you. Here is my dear old friend Maryia Gabarosa. She is from Mexico and is Guardia Immorta vampire I have known her for..... many years now. If you have any questions she will be happy to answer them. " Said professor Lestrixe as she welcomed her friend into the classroom.

Professor Lestrixe was delighted that her students were enjoying the class. She was having just as much fun as they were adn got lost with the time. The bell rang and she said "Oh well I have completely lost track of time. Thank you Maryia for sharing your...life with us and for helping us learn about vampires" she said clapping "Now class if you can please copy down your homework before you go and have it completed for the next class" she said smiling as the students took out paper to copy it down.
