HI!

welcome to .make. UP your [mind]

We are an Xmen roleplay site with a member-controlled plotting and decisions system. It's not set in any specific time, nor do we follow any series of comic or the movies. We do our own thing and we accept both canons and originals.

Application
- When joining, create an account with either the first and last name of your character: Jane Madden or the codename: Tempest.

- Please apply in the subforum that applies to you (Canon or Original) with the correct form. It is there for a reason, so please fulfill its purpose.

- Wait. You may post in OOC areas and chat with people on the C-Box or via PM, but please do not post until you have been accepted.

Character Creation
- Nobody likes a perfect character so you know, give people flaws, try to make them interesting, flesh them out. I want to see that you know your character so I will not accept tiny applications.

- There is no limit to the number of characters you are allowed to create.

Out of Character
- Please respect what the administrators and moderators say. While they are not all-seeing or perfect, they have rights over you. Therefore, what they say goes. If you disagree with something a mod/admin says or does, don't make a fuss but just have a chat with another one of the staff and try to get it sorted.

- Since people from all over the world roleplay, you are going to come across people who disagree with you. While this is fine and disagreements are okay, keep them civil and do not EVER insult another person. I don't care what they did, if you don't keep things civil on the board you will leave. Period.

- There are no activity checks. I don't care whether you decide to shove off without telling anybody. Nobody will berate you if you disappear for a month. You are free to come and go at your leisure. Once in a while, if the board gets too messy, I will run a check to see who still plays and if people don't reply, their characters will be deleted. I will save the character sheets however, so if you return and find your character gone, PM me and I will send you a copy of their character sheet.

- Even though you don't have to stay active, think about the people you are writing with before you leave. If you are planning on leaving for a while, notify any people you are currently in a thread with, and maybe finish the thread up before you leave. There is no rule, but these are people you are writing with and you need to have etiquette.

- Actually being active would be nice. If you have applied and been accepted, please feel free to ROLEPLAY. If you join and don't roleplay for a while I will contact you. If you have no reasons and you still don't roleplay your account will be deleted. I don't want to -force- you to be on here, but if you've joined there must be a reason, right?

Roleplaying
- There is no minimum for post length. You may write as little as you feel. Before you submit your posts though, check through them. Ask yourself, does this add anything to the thread? If the answer is no, try again. If you are constantly writing things that add nothing to threads or are complete nonsense I will warn you and give you a chance to improve. If this chance is not taken you will be asked to leave.

- As said, there is no minimum post length, but if your posts are constantly only one paragraph/two small paragraphs or less you are probably going to be avoided by the people who are able to add more to their posts and definitely by me. It may significantly cut down on your rping opportunities.

- Typos and problems with spelling will be okay. I don't expect everyone to be able to spell everything correctly. If your posts are legible without trouble on the part of the reader there will be no problem. If people are struggling to understand your writing, you will be notified and asked to improve.

- This is an R13 site. There is no slash or sex here. Kissing is fine, a little petting is okay, but anything too descriptive is not allowed. I realise it is difficult to draw exact lines here, so if you have doubts, either don't post it or ask a mod or admin. If I find your writing is too graphic for my liking I will ask you to tone it down.

- The usuals. No god-moding, meta-gaming or anything of the like. Those terms are a little loose, so I will outline what they mean to me.

God-moding: Controlling another characters actions, thoughts or speech.
Eg. Bobby jumped up, then ran at Jane, his ice shooting from his fingers, quickly encasing her. She was unable to move.

Meta-gaming: Taking knowledge from OOC and applying it to IC.
Eg. Jane knew instinctively that Shaun had diabetes and a dead cousin, despite the fact he had never, ever told anybody.

- I don't mind what tense or POV you use to write, I just ask that you keep it consistent. If you write mostly in past tense but swap for a few things that aren't really any different to the rest of the post, I will get annoyed. I don't mind using something different for flashbacks/forwards or something like that as long as they are clearly marked as different to the rest of the post.. In journals/diaries/letters/emails etc you may do whatever you want.

- The admins reserve the right to observe the roleplaying of an already accepted player and to do something about it if it does not meet our standards. It is very difficult to pick up bad habits and trends from an application and one roleplay sample, so if we accept you and later notify you that your roleplaying isn't up to the standard that we can handle please don't complain about it and be as polite and civil about it as possible. We will also try to be polite and as understanding as we can.

Images
- Signatures can be as large as you want, within the constrains of the board. If it's stretching the board I reckon people are gonna get annoyed at you. There can be no nudity and no advertising. You may have text and such (again no advertising) as well, but if your signature is ridiculously long you will be PMed.

- Please don't hotlink. Hotlinking is where you use an image straight from the website you found it. Upload it to your own image site. There are plenty, such as Photobucket, Imageshack, Tinypic etc. that host images for free.

- Visual representation of characters is not required but it is preferred. If we can see your character, it is much easier to roleplay physical interaction. You are allowed comic-book images or stuff you have drawn youself.

C-Box
- No spamming. It's truly horrible. It will result in a banning from the C-Box.

- RESPECT. No fighting whatsoever in the Box. Again the banning. Disagreements will be tolerated for a few minutes, but if you haven't resolved it or shut up quickly you're banned.

- Please don't advertise. Guests can advertise at leisure in the Advertising board, so please (everyone) keep it there.

- Don't impersonate other people. That can really hack people off. I will ban you. Without warnings. I will not listen to any reason or pleas. It sucks if you do that.

- Please, try not to swear. This is not a rule, this is just me asking. I really hate it (and blasphemy) and I put myself at your mercy to treat me nicely and keep the bad language off the C-Box.

The administrator(s) reserve the right to change the rules at any time without warning.

New rules will be coloured orangered.
