The opening day's fixtures in Serie A have been confirmed as follows at a gala ceremony at the Lega Calcio:
Atalanta-Siena Cagliari-Lazio Catania-Genoa Chievo-Reggina Fiorentina-Juventus Milan-Bologna Roma-Napoli "derby del sole" Sampdoria-Inter Torino-Lecce Udinese-Palermo Defending champions Inter thus face an onerous trip to Genoa to face Sampdoria, while newly-promoted Chievo kick off at home to Reggina. Milan meet Bologna, while last season's runners-up Roma welcome Napoli to the capital. The much-awaited Milan derby will take place in week 5, with Fiorentina-Inter in week 9, and Juventus-Roma in week 10. Week 13 will see bitter rivals Inter and Juventus play at San Siro, while three weeks later Juve host Milan, with the return game played in week 35. Milan have a tough end to the season, as they take on Roma in week 37, and on the final matchday the Rossoneri are away at Fiorentina, while Juventus host Lazio, Roma take on Torino and Inter welcome Atalanta. -------------------- |
