So, MKvsDCU has been out for a while now, time to think about MK9. Before going on about what I want from a sequel, I'll just run through everything we know about MK9, which isn't much.

It's M-rated, so no more watered down fatalities.

It's not coming out for this year, maybe fall 2010.

That's pretty much it. Here's what you should expect:

Scorpion and Sub-Zero, of course.

Maybe Ed Boon makes good on his promise of killing off most of the existing cast, which might not be a bad idea. I don't want to play the same game over and over.

Most of the gameplay stuff from MKvsDCU will probably carry over, which is fine. MKvsDCU played better than any other 3D MK game before it.

A new villain, maybe? If you look on MK as a whole, there have been a lot of villains. I for one have some hope of Shinnok actually being sort of a good villain after MKA.

What I want:

More content. MKvsDCU didn't have much in the way of longevity, besides online. I was done with the story mode the first day(mind you, I was done with konquest the same day I got MKD...) and there was nothing more to unlock. The only real substantial unlocks were the two boss characters.

Speaking of the Story Mode, I liked it. I want something like that in the next MK game. It's actually pretty cool to see what goes on with the various characters in the story, what happens when and not have it bogged down by the tedious konquest gameplay. It's also good for the cannon, since we can clearly see what happens and when.

More modes, or characters, or both. 22 characters just isn't enough when you only have two singleplayer modes. While I'll play the majority of the time with one character(anyone care to guess who?), I always complete the game with all the characters to see all the endings, and a larger cast of characters would obviously keep me busy for longer. I'd also like some modes with replayability. I'm not going through the story mode multiple times, since it's actually pretty long and there's no incentive.

Better fatalities. I'm not really one to complain... okay, I complain about a lot of things, but the fatalities of the last couple of games have been awful. The MKA fatalities were deprived of character and the MKvsDCU were toned down too much. I'm not saying the MKD fatalities were perfect, but they were a lot better.

Just a few.

-Return of UN-SCREWED UP Tanya with all of her powerful kombos and specials intact

-Better Game Engine.

-No more crappy custom fatality junk

-No more Konquest garbage.

-Some REAL hidden unlockables that 2D MK games were famous for.

-NO RELEASE DATES SET. If the game is finished, it's finished, NO Rushed work, just to meet the stupid release date, sacrificing many original ideas, and not having the test the game before release.

-If Konquest must come back for any reason, NO SINGLE UNLOCKABLES should be in there. It should only be for the people who also likes adventures, follow the green light, or walking around craps, it shouldn't be a form for ANY hidden unlockables. In other words, focus more on the fighting game instead of these lame mini games and Konquest s***.

-Traditional, bloody and original SCENEMATIC Fatality that is DIFFERENT and UNIQUE per character. Not toned down to meet the rating that MK VS DC had, just the original fatalities that made MK what it is and famous for in the first place.
