The last traces of snow are disappearing in the warm spring sun. The land is slowly waking up as winter releases its last hold, filling the air with birdsong and warm breezes.
Soon the first buds of flowers will be blossoming across the land. Will you be ready for the Flower Festival?

The old gardens truly became overgrown over the centuries... Once proud mansions have crumbled away to ruins, small forests have grown up within the fenced in confines of what was once a carefully manicured lawn, and flowers, moss, and vines run rampant over everything. A few wild creatures have even settled in, enjoying their oasis within the town confines!
What else but such a wild place would Lettuce have chosen for her shop? The location she chose is bordered by tall stone fences, the iron gate at the entrance long since falling away to the passage of time. The worst of the brambles have been cleared away at the front though a massive, twisting pile of small trees, bush, vines, bramble, and weed still chokes the back portion of the property. Centered in the middle is a rather improvised shop constructed out of any material that was handy - mainly the large rocks from the fallen mansion that had once occupied the area.
The current shop is no where near a mansion in size, but has been constructed with a large main room and several other rooms that bud off at odd tilts and angles, slapped together with more stone, slabs of wood, and tough vines. Several chimneys poke up through the roof tiles, some made of proper study bricks and others simple pipes that spew oddly colored smoke. Windows appear at random and best guess puts the shop at about four stories and half at one end and a sloping negative half - the floor descending into the ground where there was once a large basement - at the other. Flower pots pop out of odd places, hanging from windows, stacked in front of the door, piled to the side of the house - and some of them even hold actual flowers, though many contain odd plants, rocks, and various tools. All in all, the little building and its work-in-progress surroundings have a certain charm.
Lettuce's shop is not for the faint of heart - or the automysophobiatic - to enter. Some days opening the door is easy, other days you may have to throw all your weight against it to get it to budge. Lettuce employs Jhinto to keep one half of the store clean with (somewhat) organized and labeled bottles, (usually) clean chairs for customers to recline in, and (hopefully) organization of whatever miscellaneous projects, potions, mixtures, powders, tinctures, balm, snack, food, spice, candy, treat, hat, thread, fabric, dolls, tools, toys, seeds, plants, creatures, comforts, books, artifacts, treasure, or relics that may be on sell for the day. Of course, the rest of the building falls into a loving sort of chaos. Half-full bottles of who-knows-what potion, bubbling cauldrons propped up in corners or on stools, bags of yet-to-be-cleaned demon parts, half finished hats, a pile of parts for future dolls, a locked chest of possessed weapons, dusty keys, forgotten maps to ancient treasures, some molding cheese, and various other knick-knacks litter the tables, chairs, benches, counters, cabinets, shelves, crates, boxes, floor, hang from the ceiling, and adorn themselves upon any other surface throughout the store.
Jhinto is rumored to have an isolated nest all to himself in the very top most story where he can float up for some privacy, but so far no one has been permitted to see it. He's set up several booby traps in an attempt to keep his nosy mistress out, though she doesn't seem to have even recognized his newfound territory at all.
Well, ready to come in? Lettuce and Jhinto sell whatever they've recently won off a demon they've captured, destroyed, tamed, or re-located, so you never know what you may find...

"Ugh, are we almost done yet Chisa? This smell is making me sick..." Jhinto turned his head away as he poured in yet another bowl of cleaned toad spawn into a very large glass jar. The black, bead-like eggs gleamed in the light in a way that turned Jhinto's stomach. Whoever actually bought such eggs to eat - Lettuce had called this caviar... they had to be crazy!
"Lucky for you I think that that was probably the last of the frog spawn!" Lettuce called out from the main kitchen, where a thick green smoke that clung to the ceiling was leaking from. "Why don't you come in here and clean out a few of these empty bottles?" The main kitchen, as they called it, was located right behind the main room where the wares were displayed, making for quick transfer of freshly prepared delicacies, balms, potions, and other mix-and-stew goods. Jhinto glanced warily at the smoke and spun the top back onto the jar, floating back into the kitchen to help Lettuce finish the chore of cleaning and processing all the drops they'd gotten.
This time their quarry had been roda frogs in the small marshes that edged along the Abyss. They were, by this stage, very easy to defeat and it hadn't been long before both Lettuce and Jhinto had filled their rucksacks to full capacity. The end result was an awful lot of empty bottles (which roda dropped when defeated, for some reason...) to be cleaned and sold, frog spawn that Lettuce had insisted on gathering, and... the reason that Lettuce had had such a craving to go hunting for roda frogs in the first place...
"Ah, smell that? That is the scent of fresh, delicious roasted frog legs." Lettuce held up one of the roasted frog legs - the foot of which was almost the size of her own hand - and took a deep breath. "I normally don't eat meat, you know, but who can resist such a delicacy?"
"Me." Jhinto muttered, shaking his head at his mistress' whims. Frog spawn and frog legs... Just the thought turned his stomach. He cast a glance over the large bundles of frog legs Lettuce had already roasted and those that remained to be prepared - no doubt she'd pickle some and turn some into jerky... one time she even went so far as to try making a soup... He shuddered again. It was a good thing that at times like those he didn't have to eat...
Lettuce's Shop now has empty bottles, green herbs, stomach aliment potion, frog spawn, and roasted frog legs for sell!

Rio was utterly shocked by the state of the shop that she had finally been able to locate. This was like something straight out of the most interesting of novels! The room was full of jars full of such odd things - one even said it contained frog spawn! Her curiosity was certainly peaked... but she had work to do, and roasted frog legs... didn't quite appeal that much to her.
After a bit of searching she found a very large pile of empty bottles and jars - which was everything she had been hoping to find! She sorted through them carefully, picking out a very large assortment of jars and bottles of various sizes - many of them rather large - and stuffed as many as she could into the cloth bags she'd brought with her, leaving dropping a small pile of Turnips onto the table to pay for everything.
There, that's one obstacle down! Now I can start catching bug's for the society... Smiling happily, Rio set off for the library, the many jars in her possession rattling as she walked.
