'A new village again, it's only been a year since I arrived at the last one.' Jaz sighed as he thought to himself. 'Now I am already at a new place, am I always just going to be wandering around leaving my past behind me?'
It was that day that Jaz has experienced many times before. Something that he is very used to. He kept on thinking about all this change constantly on how it is all going to work out fomr him in the end and maybe it was time that he should maybe settle down somewhere. That alone was a hard desision that he had to make.
As the sun was now high in the sky but moved over to the east a tad the clouds were still slightly moving in for an attack. It was a nice crisp day that seemed to work fine with all his fur. Jaz coundn't stand hot days, they always cooked him.
His tail swayed from side to side with each step he took seeing to make a minimal impact on the ground as light as he was with his feet. His tail also was curved off the ground as thick as it was there was enough strengh in it for it to not drag and get the bottom of it all dirty with stuff on the ground.
All that he was carrying was just a small bag hat has some more clothes other than what he was wearing in it and then along with some some of his personal items. It was his usual things that he took when he traveled and then usually leaving everything else he owned behind or in someone elses hands.
The dirt path that he was walking along seemed to end suddenly as he somehow ended up in another village. As he glanced around there was no-one around. He had no idea where he was this time but it was a place that he could maybe live in. Interactions with humans though was not always his strong point with many cases they end up running away or trying to kill him. Though that had not happened for a while.

Aurelius smiled as he painted the beautiful vista before him. This was currently his only canvas, and his paints were running low. He brought up his hand to brush a few loose strands of hair away, leaving a slight smudge of bright yellow paint across his right cheek. A little girl, probably around ten, stared at him. He smiled at her, and she blushed, then ran after her mother. He laughed a little, then a slight frown played across his lips. I'll never be able to have children... The vampire sighed, then continued painting.
Even though it was sunny, he was able to get out here before dawn, carefully picking a spot that would be shrouded in shadows all day. However, he managed to find a spot that allowed him to see a lot of the town square, and the rolling pastures beyond it. As he turned back to his canvas, a look of concentration passed his face. Placing the brush in his mouth, he swirled some of the colors around in the painted sky, creating a sfumato appearance. He grinned as he extracted the brush from his perfect teeth, then dipped it in the cloudy cup of water he had brought along with him. Wiping it on his much-torn jeans, he dipped the brush in white, then proceeded to make feathery looking clouds.
The thoughts of others that played at the edges of his mind were slowly growing quieter. He looked up from his painting and noticed that many were scurrying home. Curious, he sniffed the air. A storm was rolling in from the east, though he had no clue how bad it would be. A frown passed his face once again. He didn't really have a place to stay, and he didn't want his artwork to be messed up. After all, oil paint took forever to dry, not that he minded waiting. What did a few hours matter to someone who had all the time in the world? With a sigh, he washed out the brush, then threw the water into a gutter. Carefully placing the closed tubes of paint in his bag, he moved to put his only brush into it. But it slipped and rolled out into the sunlight.
Oh no...Why didn't I catch it? There was no way he could get it now without exposing himself. He bit his lip, torn between the two options.

The air now had a bit more of a chill that lingered around, however it had no effect on Jaz. Jaz rested his hand onto the cold cement that felt as cold as an ice crystal. His tail flicked around his body to come to a Looking onto the ground he wondered it it just was cement that was layed onto the ground or of it was a compound of different minerals and crystals. He wouldn't be suprised as most towns make a big deal out of their town square as it comes down to every small detail that a lot of people do not notice.
Leaning back onto his hands he tilted his head backwards and closed his eyes. As his ears fluttered around witht he sounds of the enviroment around him it was quite interesting that as empty it seems at the moment the place is actually full of life behind the walls and trees. If Jaz was going to be living here for the year he may as well start thinking of looking for work straight away.
The last place that he was at with this old rundown place that slowly came to life he owned a bar. Jaz loved that bar and it was just the thing of actually rebuilding it from scratch. The Tin Cat he will always remember. Maybe he should start up another bar, it was all he was good at after all by mixing the necter that sways the sensations of the mind and spirit but tips your body head over heels.
Opening his eyes again, having a glace around all the tress and in the square there were a few children running around with their parents as they emerged from behind the tress. A boy looked over in his direction and had a big grin on his face. Not always the typical reaction that would be recieved. Jaz smiled back though and with a simple hand gesture waved at the boy with a bit of a salute mixed with a wave.

Running his fingerst through his golden locks, he glanced around quickly. There weren't too many people about, just a few mothers and their children. His eyes landed on a grinning boy, staring at something that obviously made him happy, or at least something to direct his attention away for a minute or two, no small feat for someone with a short attention span. Following the boys gaze, his eyes lighted upon a curious creature. He, he presumed the creature to be a he, saluted to the boy. Aurelius cocked an eyebrow. He had never come across a cat looking human, though he had heard of them about his many travels. Apparently, they weren't exactly an oddity in some places. Mossleaf must have been one of them.
He shook his head as he glared down at his immediate problem. The paintbrush had only rolled a few inches into the sunlight, teetering temptingly within a fast handreach. Perhaps no one will see... He kneeled, making sure that he stayed well within the boundaries of the shadows, then glanced around quickly, double checking that no one was looking. With an inhuman speed, he grabbed the paintbrush, the glint off his skin flashing for a milisecond. Hoping no one saw, he tossed the brush into his nearby bag, then stood, moving in a single, fluid, cat-like motion to his feet. With a sigh, he threw the canvas pack over his shoulders, then picked up the painting tenderly, almost like a mother with her child. Holding it with one hand, he unfolded the tri-pod then placed it ontop of his shoulder. He started walking forwards, expertly balancing each, then he stopped, hearing a slight plinking noise. He turned, rather quickly, and dropped the canvas. In time, he managed to grab it before it hit the ground, but he also caught it on the wrong side.
"Well, curses..." He muttered. How did that happen? He stood up again, then set the tri-pod down. He turned the canvas slowly in his hands. It looked ruined, but he could paint over it, or even wash the paint off, as the oil paints wouldn't dry for a while. Still, a look of disdain crossed his face. The painting was looking rather good, and he wouldn't be able to capture the same depiction tomorrow.

As the mother and children started to make their way back into the village now leaving the town square behind. The way the village seemed to be was fairly multi-cultural with many types of people being here. Maybe people just didn't care if there was some sort of half-blooded dragon or werewolf around. The community would just accept it and probably give the new people muffin baskets or something.
Something caught Jaz'es eyes behind the trees in the shadows. There seemed to be many things going on behind there at the time. Though if it was any of his business was another thing. Jaz had a habit of getting involved in the wrong things at the very wrong time. He continued to look over in the area trying to make sure there was no direct eye contact. It was a hard thing to avoid most of the time though.
The person behind the tree seemed to be an artist maybe with the tri-pod that was the only thing he could make out from this distance in the shadows. If it was best to just sit here and watch for now as it seemed to be quite under control on whatever the person was doing.

Grumbling, he set the tri-pod up, then placed the painting on it. Right across the middle of the painting was a big hand-shaped smear. Wiping his hands on his pants, he set the bag down, then got out a bottle of diluted paint remover. He unscrewed the top, then tipped it across the top of the canvas, watching the solution crawl down the canvas. As it trickled down, it took the thick oil paint with it. Soon, the top of the canvas was clear, and the paint dripped onto the dirt. He grabbed an old t-shirt and wiped the canvas down until each splotch of paint was gone. He threw some water onto the paint puddle, then mixed it up into mud. It wouldn't do much besides color the dirt for a while, as all his paints were safe for the ecosystem, being made from plants, minerals, and other natural things.
He wrung out the shirt, then hung it over the back of the tri-pod. As he turned, he felt eyes upon him. He turned slowly, then saw that it was the cat-human who he had spotted earlier waving to the grinning boy. Aurelius waved slightly, gave a small grin, and turned back to his canvas pack. He didn't have an extra old shirt to wrap the canvas in, so it seemed as if he'd be here for a while. Being careful not to let the sun touch his skin, he set the tri-pod and canvas into the sun to let it dry as much as it could.

As Jaz was looking over the person looked over back at him, though it was not awkward For some reason the person gave a bit of wave. It confused Jaz for a split second but he nodded in acknowledgement as the person then went back to what he was doing. Jaz was now a tad curious on what he was doing now. The least he could do was meet one of the people from the village.
As he hopped up pushing his hands off the ground he tilted his body forward and swung his tail with him for balance. Jaz used his tail a lot for balance with it so thick with fur and heavy plus it was longer than his actual legs. He left his bag where it was and started to slowly make his way over to where all the interesting things were going on.
Placing himself near the tree he was on the edge of the shadows. As much as he was a feline he wasn't like all the others that enjoyed the sun. Though he didn't like big body of water also he loved the rain and cool climates. Looking over at the boy, he seemed different but Jaz did too. He was never good at estimating the age of humans though, so he couldn't pick it exactly but he looked like a young adult if anything.
"Good Afternoon," was all that Jaz seemed to manage to get out. He gave a grin looking at what was going on. As he guessed he defiantly seemed to be an artist. His tail flicked behind brushing against his own leg and then came to a rest curving off the ground.

Aurelius shifted his weight to his left foot, bent his left arm, then cupped his right elbow in his left hand. In his right hand, his chin sat in the cleft between his thumb and forefinger. He was studying the canvas, estimating the time it would take to dry out efficently enough so he could put it back in his bag without soaking everything. After all, all his personal belongings were contained in his sack, and he didn't want to ruin his book, even if he could remember the whole thing by memory, right down to every punctualization mark.
He still didn't break away his attention as he heard footsteps walking towards him. They would probably just pass by anyway. Humans seemed to have that sixth-sense that told them about lurking danger, and he seemed to set this sense off. He was slightly surprised when the stranger spoke, obviously to him. He hadn't paid attention to the thoughs flickering at the edge of his mental barrier when he focused on his blank canvas. Not wanting to be rude, he turned, his hands dropping. One, he held out for a hand shake, and the other dove into his pocket.
"Yes, it is quite lovely. I'm just disappointed that I ruined my artwork. Alas, it shall have to wait until tomorrow evening. I might deide to work elsewhere though, as I've always found beach sunsets quite endearing." He grinned largely, then shook his head a little. "Ah, you'll have to excuse my rambling. I tend to get caught up in my artwork." A little laugh escaped his lips.

Jaz outstretched his hand and firmly shook the hand of the the person he just met and then took his hand back and searched for the tree to lean against.
"Yes, it is quite lovely. I'm just disappointed that I ruined my artwork. Alas, it shall have to wait until tomorrow evening. I might decide to work elsewhere though, as I've always found beach sunsets quite endearing." Jaz nodded not exactly loving the water that was at the beach bot for the atmosphere that was around. "Ah, you'll have to excuse my rambling. I tend to get caught up in my artwork."
Jaz gave a smile as he rested his shoulder against the tree now fully in the shade and no beams of light hitting him. "It's fine, I like to listen. Though I have always found on a crisp morning to find that the valleys have quite nice landscape as it brings the morning mist that has a quite pleasant feeling about it." He said thinking of what he walked though earlier as he was walking here to the village.
Jaz loved the creativity of any artist with the design, concept and master pieces that they come up with then they put all their time and effort into one piece of work and comes out amazing. Jaz never was one to paint but he didn't mind drawing occasionally when he was bored. It wasn't much of a hobby but more of a past time for him. He always used to draw when he was young.

Aurelius nodded. "Yes, there are too many great landscapes to paint them all. Still, a man can try." He gave a small sigh, then jerked his head up suddenly. "Oh! How rude of me! I didn't introduce myself." He gave a small bow, then straightened. "I'm Augustus, Aurelius Augustus. It's really a pleasure, really." He grinned, then looked back, almost wistfully at his painting.
But he looked back, and clapped his hands together before rubbing them and placing them back in his pockets. "So, have you been around here long? If I'm offending, don't hesitate to tell me. Of course, I only want to know of the best spots to paint. I actually haven't been here for long... I still don't have a place to store all my belongings." He motioned with a shrug to his bag lieing up against a wall.

As Jaz nodded and listened as Aurelius introdiced himself. "I'm Augustus, Aurelius Augustus. It's really a pleasure, really." Giving another smile Jaz listened as he continued to talk. "So, have you been around here long? If I'm offending, don't hesitate to tell me. Of course, I only want to know of the best spots to paint. I actually haven't been here for long... I still don't have a place to store all my belongings."
Jaz gave a smile and then looked down to the bag that stood out with everything. "Well, I'm Jaz, Jaz Kekaula. And I've only just arrived at the village today actually." Jaz said as he put his hand behind him to scratch the top of his back. "But, at the moment my life is in a bag too. I'll be looking for a place soon enough but for now I am just wandering around looking at what I can see." Jaz said as his tail swayed as he turned to look over at his bag in the square that was over there unattended.

"Ah. I see. I do believe that I may find a house rather soon, as the prices are quite agreeable with my wallet. Not to mention I'm already taken with this little town. It's so quaint, a perfect place for me to work on my arts. Usually I don't stay long in a city or village, just preferring to take residency in an inn. But I do find that I like it here." He smiled, then glanced around the square, his eyes finally lighting upon the library off in the distance. "Yes, I like it here quite well."

It was actually turning out to be the start of a nice conversation that continued to roll off the tongue and into the air. Jaz continued to stand under the cool shade and avoiding the sun that shines down onto the soil. "Yes, I like it here quite well." Jaz nodded as Aurelius actually sounded a lot like him. Always wandering around but finally thinking of actually settling down somewhere. At the moment though Jaz had not even started to explore this small village. He could not decide yet till he looked around more.
"Yes, I completely agree." Jaz said as he quickly gave another glance at his bag thinking if he should collect it just in case but was certain it was safe there. "I have not actually had a good look around the town yet either. Though I am planning to stay here for at least a year. Unless something changes my thoughts otherwise." He added thinking if he did stay in the town what would happen. Giving a smile he looked down to the ground and just thought. "I've never been a long term villager of any place, it would be wierd if I had all of a sudden decided that a place would be the place I would stay at.

Aurelius nodded. "Well, actually, I have actually seen a little bit of the town. When I first came through here, it was on the outer bounds of the town, in a bamboo forest of what I hear is called the Abyss by locals. It was...an interesting experience to say the least." A grin passed across his face as he remembered Lettuce, Jhinto, and the many ghosts that Lettuce banished with ease. "I've also seen the library. That was also quite interesting. I look forward to visiting it again. The librarian, Rio was her name, was quite nice, a very courteous young woman." The vampire nodded once again.
"Yes, I understand. As I've said before, I never stay long. Just enough to enhance my knowledge of the local arts of that town." With a supressed sigh, he looked to his drying canvas. But he turned back and clasped his hands behind his back. "Of course, I've traveled a lot of the world. But there are still more small towns like this one yet to be discovered, along with their cultures. No matter how much one travels, they can never fully learn all of the arts. It's a task that I'd like to accomplish, though I doubt I will. After all, the arts change with each decade. It's rather hard to keep up with it all!" He laughed a little, though even after it subsided, laughter played at the edges of his grin and in his toffee-coloured eyes.

" ..After all, the arts change with each decade. It's rather hard to keep up with it all!" Jaz nodded as Aurelius finished. The words of a true artist to always continue discovering new techniques and ways. Jaz showed a smile though to himself there was really not much reason why he travelled so much. "I'll be sure to check the library, I like to read but I usually can't afford to buy my own books. Then what to do with them after you have read them. Though some are so delightful that you would want to always read them over and over. Jaz said as his tail flicked against the tree then back wrapping around his own leg.

Strong horses rode in, dirt and pebbles flew everywhere. One halted as the short man pulled the reins. Aiyana tugged the reins gently and the dark stallion stopped. She got down off the horse. "Now hold up the end of your deal, midget." Aiyana hissed.
"Ah ah," he said with a grin "with a mare I'll be back in two summers." He kicked his stallion. The horse neighed and ran off and the man followed. Aiyana went off in indistinct murmurs, kicking rocks. She walked up to the two people and plastered on a smile. She grabbed the end of her neon green tent dress, bending her knees slightly into a curtsy.
"Would there be a place in which I could read up on the history of this town," she asked "what is this town anyways?" She tilted her to seem confused. She scratched her head of auburn hair, to add to her illusion of perplexity.
Interesting bunch they are. A man with a fur and a man- well she didn't know what he was but he looked shady. Almost like he knew her plan... "By the way, my name is Ai." Maybe, she thought, I shouldn't have jumped in so quickly, should have let it fly. She maintained her smile, of course, keeping up appearances are essential. She waited patiently, though the silent moments were eating her up inside.

Aurelius found himself nodding once again in agreement. "I actually have had the money lately to buy at least a few books, but I haven't been able to find a bookstore. But at least the librarian is extremely nice. I'm sure that she'd let me check out books whenever I wanted." At the sound of new thoughts, his head turned. There was a girl walking towards them, dressed in a bright, almost blinding, green dress. Her thoughts seemed almost devious. His eyes narrowed, his arms crossed. It was rather sad that someone was going to harm the people of this quaint village. Well, he wasn't going to let it happen to those he had met, or those he hadn't if he could do anything about it.
"Yes, there is actually. And this lovely town, full of kind-hearted, hard-working people, is called Mossleaf." He replied, his eyes on the edge of being topaz-hard and his voice laced with icy undertones. He gave a curt little nod. "Aurelius Augustus."

"A library?" she inquired. "Well, I have been looking for a place to settle down." Within reach of this shady man, whom he referred to himself as Aurelius. "What a lovely name, however was it discovered?" Aiyana asked. Acting as she cared of this person who she automatically thought as a buffoon. Who talks to furry people? From Gurin Village, these creatures were shunned to the darkest corners, never to be seen again. Snapping out of her thoughts, she reached her hand out for him to shake. But before hesitant because she really didn't know where his hands had been.

Once again, he gave a curt, little nod and a small smile. "Why thank you, milady. It's from an ancient language, primarily used in the city that once was Virannus, along with it's surrounding city states. It means "golden"." Her almost acidic thoughts mingled with his own. Buffoon, hmm? He cocked an eyebrow, but it returned back to a scowl so quickly that only he could be sure that he had done it. As Aiyana stuck out her hand, he stared at it for almost a full minute before grasping it with his own cold one. He kept his grip light (well, light for him anyway), shook it a few times, then released.

Jaz looked over at this person that had seemed to barge into a conversation that him and Aurelius were pleasantly conversed in. "Excuse me," Jaz interupted into their deligation not as amused by the unfortunate event. "As you were to slide into our conversation, I was hoping that next time you could more polite when slipping between two people conversing?" Jaz said as he was a bit annoyed. He didn't have the best vibe about this person either. It felt a tad negative her attitude as interesting as it was but none the less, Jaz had a short fuse with people that were impolite.
Jaz looked back at the lady then continued to keep his stance leaning up against the tree. Flicking his tail behind him he simply just kept a glance locked on the the person.
