Grim's suggestion of Namc contributing representatives for Iron Modder 10, though it may only have been an illustration, still makes me feel as if we have been Named. He politely refrains from using the word "community" - but still, "a small forum" sounds a lot like one. It may of course be a cunning plot to load IM10 with PPG'ers, but umm, I don't know that he would do that. Icelus, yes. Andyr and Grim, no.

EDIT: deleted reference to obsolete forum.

For some reason, the phrase 'We've been namced!' is going through my mind.

He is using Manly Pink. Though I'm pretty sure we didn't intend it as an excuse to let loose with the kind of language our mothers are affronted by.

Look, you made Grim cry. Mean, mean Drew. If he goes back and posts the url we will blame you.

South Park. I'm pretty sure that even they can't mention intimate relations with animals in the course of abuse. Unless the censors are asleep on the job.

I used to like South Park, but now I'm over it. It's gone on too long. Like the Simpsons. It's still witty and I'm pleased that satire is understood in America, but after so many years, could we have something different?

You obviously haven't seen the movie.

Terrance: You're such a pig-fucker, Phillip!
Phillip: Terrance, why would you call me a pig-fucker?
Terrance: Well, let's see. First of all, you fuck pigs.
Phillip: Oh yeah!

This is right before they go into the "Uncle Fucker" song. The movie doesn't bleep things like the show does.

And, Grim, please note I used manly pink. I don't think you fuck pigs. At least not very often.

You're being ironic. Right?

Because although the song I'm sure was hilarious, that exchange is not. I don't think. It may be the cloistering schoolmarm coming out in me. The charm of South Park was its habit of calling a spade a f----- shovel, when it was novel. It challenged ideas. Kind of like the sex on Queer as Folk. But now, I dunno. Are swear words that interesting? Are they saying stuff now to offend and draw scandalised comments, rather than to express an idea? I think so. Move on boys, move on.

I thought the South Parkers were from Nebraska. Or somewhere like that.

That was another movie reference. And they are from Colorado.

No, I did like it. smile.gif

(I've not seen it since I was about 16, though, so this may be a cast of rose-tintage.)

By the way, I am well aware that the lines weren't particularly amusing on the surface. The comedy came from the context.
