rayne harriet cross when you fall everyone stands full name: Rayne Harriet Cross age: Twenty-three date of birth: October 13th place of birth: Blackpool, England appearance: Unlike most females her age, Rayne doesn't enjoy fancy dresses, or neat jeans. Her pants are usually never seen without a hole in the knee, or thigh. They're faded from the wash, and usually ragged and worn. Despite how sloppy they would look on most people, they give her an edge that draw people in, something she sometimes wishes wouldn't happen. On her torso, she switches what she wears, depending on her mood and the weather. Usually, she'll wear an old T shirt of a classic rock band, like AC DC, or Kansas. Other times, she'll wear a muscle shirt, or a tank top. Hardly ever is she seen without a sweater cover her arms, so it's luck whenever you do. Her sweaters are regular zip up hoodies with plain letters, or colours that blend well with her outfit. Whenever she doesn't feel like wearing a sweater, or she's going out on hunts, she wears a leather jacket. It's close to her body, though there's room to move in it. As for shoes, she switches her footwear from converse, to skate shoes, to boots. Really all depends on her mood. All in all, her style's alternative, no matter her mood. play-by: Olivia Wilde personality: Above anything else, Rayne's a smart ass. No matter who she's talking to, or the kind of situation she'll be in, there's always room for sarcasm. It gets her into quite a bit of trouble, as you can imagine, though she doesn't have a care in the world as long as she's having fun. With that being said, it's easy to tell that she's an outgoing kind of girl who wants nothing more than to have good experiences. Not ones that really mean anything for her future, no. Ones that she'll remember for her future, however. Parties, one on ones with guys, blaring music. Your typical party animal trait. Though, there's a side to her that she shows a lot. Just as outgoing as she is, she's extremely aggressive and defensive. If you get on her bad side, she wont hesitate to let you know. Rayne's an extremely blunt girl, and wont sugar coat any kind of opinion of information no matter who she's telling it to. Her mood gets even worse if someone messes with her, or her friends. Her friends are the most important beings in her life, and she'll stand up for them until she can no longer do so. It's not hard to tell that with her blunt, and aggressive attitude, that she'd get into quite a few fights as well.
Rayne's a wild child. She lives and breathes the party side of life. The loud music, drinking, dancing with strangers. She loves the adrenaline rush it gives her, and there's nothing she would ever do to change it. It's easy to tell that she's a bit of a loose girl when it comes to one night stands, and ties. If she takes in an interest with whoever she's serving drinks to, or dancing with, who knows where it's going to go? Rae doesn't mind spending a night alone, alone, however. Despite her wanting to have fun and get everything she can out of life, she's not a whore, nor a slut.
Unlike most females, Rayne pushes her emotions to complete off mode while she's around people. Even people she trusts. She thinks of herself as crazy, for seeing what she had with Scott, and letting anyone know that she had seen some demonic thing inside of her boyfriend four years back, they'd think she was crazy too. Not only that, but if she opened up, she'd be letting someone in, and setting herself up to get hurt. Rayne wasn't to have good relationships with people, but it's hard with her lack of trust. & even when your hope is gone occupation: Bartender currently resides: Lawrence, Kansas pets: - - - mode of transport: Black Kawasaki ninjayour hands are mine to hold family: Mark Hannibal Cross ;; deceased, Cleo Marie Cross ;; deceased, Joey Xander Cross ;; twenty-six marital status: Single orientation: Heterosexual On October the thirteenth, Rayne Cross was born into a family of three. She became the youngest child of Cleo and Mark Cross, very friendly people with a lot of generosity. Her older Brother, Joey, made a promise to his parents that whenever she needed help in school, with friends, or anything he could do, he'd help. They were all overjoyed to have a new family member.
Rayne grew up some things that other children didn't have. One of them being a good family, both parents, and a loving Brother who didn't smother her. It wasn't until she turned thirteen and asked to get a piercing that her parents started noticing just how different from them she was. Her hair was too dark, her eyes were too bright. Rae was starting to get into fights at school, talk back to her peers and parents. The only one she respected in her family seemed to be Joey. She didn't even know why she didn't give him a hard time about the same things she gave everyone else a hard time for- he was a prime example of what she didn't want to become.
As she grew older, Rayne started to let herself slip more and more from the perky lady that her parents and Brother had thought her up to become, into a has-been that loathes dresses and tea parties. She started swearing, and her grammar slipped. With each passing year, she got worse. One year she took up smoking, the next drinking. Her family gave up on her, and broke almost every tie to their Daughter that they could. She was their embarrassment, the bad seed. It was a good thing no one in her family wanted a thing to do with her, because she didn't want anything to do with them.
At least, not until she got a boyfriend. She was eighteen, just out of high school, and living on a low wage with busing tables at a Bar and Grill. Her boyfriend, Scott, wasn't anything special. He was an alcoholic, and addicted to nicotine worse than Rayne had ever been. The only real reason she stayed around was for the sex, the place he owned (that she was paying for, mind you), and to feel loved. She learned how to love him, however. It took her a year to see it, but she finally saw that Scott was someone she didn't want to push out of her life.
Just after she turned nineteen, something happened to Scott. He wasn't normal, he was angry, he wouldn't look at her unless he was pulling her hair back and slamming her against things. Scott had always been a rough lover, but nothing like this. Rayne was getting fed up with his mood swings, and her temper started to flare. She called him out one night, having enough of him. The alcohol she had consumed helped make her seem more courageous. And then things shifted, happening all too fast. Scott's eyes were black, no pupil, no iris. Completely black. He attacked her, muttering something about not really being her boyfriend.
Rayne booked it. She didn't even bother grabbing something to wear. She ran, and didn't stop until she was near the outskirts of town.
She moved after that. Trying to start a new life like nothing happened. Now and again, she'll find herself staring into people's eyes, thinking she saw the same blackness Scott's held. just to make it through | QUOTE | Rayne fiddled with a half lit cigarette between her fingers, her eyes staring at the cheery, watching it trying to ignite itself against the rest of the tobacco. Her tongue pushed between her lips, licking slowly, trying to remember what the disgusting taste of nicotine was like. When her tongue pulled back into her mouth, her lips pulled into a frown, her chest heaving with an exhausting sigh. Why was she addicted to all the wrong things? Sex, alcohol, smoking . . . Sooner or later, if her rough driving didn’t kill her, she’d end up killing herself by the hands of her quirks and bad habits.
Pushing the thought from her mind, she pulled the filter to her mouth and inhaled dryly. The burn only lasted a couple minutes before she couldn’t suck anything else into her lungs. Her arm fell to her side, and her converse started to skid against the sandy pathway of the park, still holding in the smoke. She took seven steps before she started to feel her heart beat race, and she let the intoxication fly from her lips into the open air. Not that Ange had much to care for in a park like this; she had no children running around, her best friend and only pet was back home, safe inside. Everyone else was killing the planet, if not with smoking, or pollution in general, with their stupidity. This was just her way of speeding up the process, to put everyone out of their misery faster. All in all, she was doing the human body a favor.
Flicking the ash off the cherry, she stuffed her free hand into her jeans pocket, her eyes trailing along the grassy paths, visible from the pressure of someone walking the line too much. Resisting the urge to follow one of them, try and see if she could make a small connection with someone, she continued on the path, avoiding eye contact, and steering herself around anyone walking in her direction. She wasn’t in that much of a generous mood . . . Well, currently. After the smoke was gone, that’d most likely change, a warm overwhelming, fuzzy moment would most likely flow back threw her veins and give her enough courage to smile at people she didn’t know. But until then, she kept her gaze low, and her thoughts circled around the cancer stick between her index and middle finger.
Pulling it back to her lips and taking another drag, her legs moved off the path. Unsure as to where she was going, still slightly unfamiliar with the park, she let her legs do the walking. Her eyes lifted up to the bright sky, her eyelids narrowing against the sun, though she remained looking anyways. Large, white clouds pulled over the warm sky’s colour, not an inch of blue being able to spot. Pulling her eyebrows together, Rayne tried not to think about it. Not the sky’s cover up, but her own. Young people don’t just move to a place like Detroit out of the blue. If anyone knew what she was running away from, would they still accept her in a place like this? Chewing her bottom lip, she winched against an open cut that she had made that morning. The metallic taste of blood lingered on her tongue, and she quickly covered it up with the sting of her smoke.
Dropping her head back down, a sigh escaped her lips as she exhaled the smoke. Approaching a bench, she plopped herself down and pulled one of her legs up to her chest, her arm holding it steady. Putting the smoke out, she slipped the half of it that was still left behind her ear, allowing her hair to cover it up. Glancing around, Rae made a face. There was hardly anyone even in the park today; it was almost like everyone had better things to do than sit around aimlessly. It made her feel a bit insecure, though she brushed it off. |
