It's that time of year for our twice annual lock-in!
Time: Sept 21 (Fri), 6 PM to Sept 22 (Sat), 12 PM Location: All 5 rooms above the food court in Webb For those new to the club, our Lock-Ins are basically super meetings -- more anime, more games, more panels, and more time to hang out. Perhaps there will be some after-hours 18+ stuff too... A few panel slots are available after 8 PM. If you have a panel you want to run, submit it to Eric somehow (post here, PM, Facebook) with the timeslot you would like to have. If your panel's ingredients are of the highest quality to achieve the Anime Club Seal of Approval, we'll put you on (though the time might change). Parking There is a noon football game on Saturday, so parking is going to suck. Luckily, Garage B (next to MGB) is reserved for "academic parking". Park there, and make sure you have your pass visible. Scheduled events Video Game Triathlon - 7:30 PM, game room Participants are split into teams of up to 3 and given a task to do in three video games. Hilarity ensues. The winning team receives Bragging Rights. Those of you who watched or participated in a video game relay 3 years ago will notice I'm doing thins differently this year. This time, there's 3 games with an open-ended goal and a time limit. Each team will receive points based on their rank each round (1st - 3 points, 2nd - 2 points, 3rd - 1 point). Any ties at the end will be broken. Somehow. The three games and goals are: Pokemon Snap - 40 minutes - Start arguing over which photo is better. Highest score after 40 minutes wins. Sonic the Hegdehog 2 - 30 minutes - Disregard Robotnok, acquire emeralds. Most wins. This can be done in about 15 minutes if you know what you're doing. Mario Party 2 - 40 minutes - Each team plays their own instance of the game. Whoever has the most stars combined at the buzzer wins. Yes, co-op Mario Party. 折紙 (Origami) - 9 PM, panel room Designed for beginners, this panel focuses on simple origami with functional purposes that can be given as gifts or used to invoke a small smile. The planned projects are the heart (which can be used as a necklace or a pocket for passing notes), the candy-box (Star-box) (Useful for holding small objects), the flapping crane (with its magical movements) and the paper Samurai Hat (Usually made with red paper for boy's day, but FUN TO WEAR AT LOCK-INS AS WELL.) Anyone can drop in between projects and take everything they make home. Origami paper will be provided, along with practice paper. Bingo - 10:30 PM, panel room That game where you match numbers on a card to get 5 in a row. Read about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bingo_%28U.S.%29 The Dysentery Panel - midnight, panel room An Oregon Trail Let's Play. Don't forget to ford the river every time. Shitty Anime Crucifixion - 1 AM, panel room According to guys running it: "We will be showing some of the worst anime in existence and critiquing them." Minecraft - all night long, extra room An awesome Minecraft survival campaign, and the reopening of the server open to all club members. This post has been edited by Eric on Sep 19 2012, 04:09 PM |

Bryant Wolford and myself (Jacob Fellone) will be doing a Shitty Anime Crucifixion panel. We will be showing some of the worst anime in existence and critiquing them. We'd like the 1 AM time slot, and we'll need a projector.
EDIT: I should have said this earlier, but this panel is 18+. This post has been edited by Swampert-Titan on Sep 17 2012, 06:43 PM -------------------- Kyogre+Groudon=Swampert. NO QUESTIONS ASKED!

I can't guarantee 1 AM, but I will put you guys as late as possible. I'll work out the final schedule in a few days.

As per the Minecraft survival campaign I'm still conferring with Erik about details, but most likely I think it'll start when the Lock-In starts and will run for as long as people are on and doing something. I'd say give or take 3 or 4 hours long or until there is no one on the server, which ever happens first...
Don't quote me about it, I'm still asking him for details........ Also it would be highly advisable that people who do want to join in have an account, the game itself, and a computer~!!! Bystanders are welcome to watch. |

Its about time I actually posted about this.
As for the Minecraft event, my plan was to run it all night. However, assuming it would be impossible to obtain a room for that long, I figured that any extended time slot where nothing else is happening would work best. Otherwise, I think we could just hang out in the halls, if setting up tables, chairs, and outlets there wont be an issue. Simply put, it shouldn't have to "compete" with the other events, so by running it all night, people may join and leave as they please. I'll get you a surge protector and a table in the extra room. Give me a time you want so start, though you may want to wait until after the game triathlon in case interest in those overlap. -------------------- KONNICHIWA BAKA GAIJINS, WELCOME TO ODU ANIME CLUB
