There are some traits na hindi naman palaging gaya gaya ang OPM. They are just plain "baduy" is some content of songs. Well its the philippine way of culture in adapting and accepting corny songs & vids. Most of the filipinoes nowadays do not appreciate anymore the music of the latest bands nowadays. Compared back then, OPM golden days of; rey valera, VST, boyfriends, atbp. Granting, corny "DAW" at makaluma. Pero the essence of the song itself(lyrics), the originality of these singers, composers, and bands really reminds me of what real OPM music. Not the OPM sick genre that we have today. It really is ironic na pawala na nang pawala at pawabawas na nang pabawas good composers and singers sa pinas...

No wonder madaming pinoy ay merong "colonial mentality" when it comes to music...

kung ganun ang tingin mo sa OPM ngayun ok /heh pero ang talagang kalaban ng music inds. d2 sa pinas ay ang mga piniratang VCD at DVD kung walang namimirata sana makakagawa sila ng magandang video /heh kasi ngayun kulang talaga sila sa budget /heh

Sadly, may possibilty na mangyari yang sinabi mo. There should be some way to save the philippine music industry. I hope there would be a time that more upcoming composers and artist develope their creative way of thinking. Originality ika nga. And they should first think of saving the industry rather than prioritizing their goal on being famous in the industry. No wonder madaming sumisikat na madali ding nalalaos...

That is what they call the "essence of compitition" here in the philippines. Lame isn't it. I'd rather stick to visual kei than to stick with band genre's like spongecola,cueshe,calalily, etc. No harm and no descrimination intended here but they suck in terms of originality and lyrics. I-translate mo lng lyrics nang visual kei songs like hikari furu ame(phantasmagoria)sapaw na cla eh.

I wonder when will our music industry arise out of their pit that they had digged on to.

Good thing there are much worthy genre's to listen like visual kei's /e8
