Because I have been pretty inactive lately I figured I would post something old to show that I do still exist and do visit the forum every day I can, even though I somehow manage not to post as of late. I will be hopefully making a big critique for lesson 2 shortly (as in within this week) and adding a nice overview to suggest areas people can improve on in general regarding to colour.

3d sculpt made in zbrush, touched up a little in photoshop, fairly happy with it.

All the texturing and modeling was made in Zbrush, it's pretty good for making textures as it lets you paint it straight on to the model in the program. As far as photoshop goes I touched up a few AA problems that the render didn't quite get, and applied a little colour corrections as well as upped the intensity of the shadows and highlights. I also ditched the neck as it wasn't really finished and I hade gotton a little bored with the piece at that stage. So not a whole lot in photoshop/probably needs more. I might come back to this later (I tend to come back to some zbrush pieces from time to time.)

lol yeah, it's expensive. it's mainly used to create new video games for ps3, xbox 360, and pc, and used a lot in movies, such as pirates of the caribbean, spiderman, etc..

anyway, nice lookin head there. I think the mouth is either too small or the lips are too thick for a white guy. the nose is also pretty high.

Mouth is the thing I am most disappointed with. The nose is definitely too high like you have said. Should be finishing around where it's shadow drops as the bottom of the nose is normally 'almost' inline with the ear lobes.
The problem with the lips is probably more to do with volumes and forms then anything else (they have a pout look that seems to be re-occuring when I'm making the 3d faces. I don't see mouths like this or think it looks good, it's just I'm not as accustomed to the tools as I would like to be.)

Probably in part to do with how I understand the proportions and shapes in a face... Or something like that. I didn't really have anything in mind except a head when I started. As I went along I started thinking nasty German Officer.

Wow, that's pretty amazing, Zeid. Was it done on the computer? Cause it looks like it's a mirror-image--both halves of the skull are pretty much identical but reversed... But amazing, most of your stuff usually is.
