I am Mr_R from GMC.
I saw this web forum in someone's signature and I thought I'd try this out:

I don't like the aliasing on this one versus the other one. I'll stick back to brighter AA text time.

It also looks too round to me. I just need to have the layers of shading spread all the way to the edge and it'll look right. Uses 3 web-safe colors (white, silver and black) 14 additional colors plus an alpha channel for 18 colors total.

It's not... uhh, bad... but the shading seems really, really random and misplaced. I don't know if you were using a reference or not, but was it supposed to look so dented and misshapen.

Is the light source coming from the viewer or the upper left, you seem to use both.

It's not bad, but could be better. The colours are good, and the AA could be slightly better on all four sides, the curves are really good, but that's it really.

Well... I hope that I wasn't harsh, and I'd like to welcome you to Pixel Class.
