well i havent been playing that long, but im on track for doing quite well atm.

Ive setup a 100 laser chain with 2 rockets at the end sniping off creeps before they enter the screen.

im currently at wave 275 without problems and running out of places to put more dmg+.

ill post screens soon if anyones interested, im not sure if this is hard to do or not but i havent seen many chains this long made in ver 4.0.

biggrin.gif

*edit*

wave 285 so far, damage on first laser it at 3.42000763415852e whatever that comes out to. lmao

*edit again*

wave 305 and going. Rockets are being made more frequent now but still holding strong. Ive got the damage up to 3.74 now, not much room left to expand.

*last edit*

Well i lost at 311 waves. Final score of 1.12 billion with 3100 kills. Screenshot is below, tried to sell as many of my dmg+ at the end that i could for extra score.

This technique came from cwolves obviously, yet i left the -range modifiers in place due to version 4.0's changes. It was very hard to work out a path as you have to have no more than 2 -range on each turret at once. I could probably fit more in, but this was my first try. It took till about wave 180 before i even finished the path and i started making it around wave 80, once i maxed out my rocket damage.

Last but not least, heres the screenshot.

Very nice. I have been making some progress.

I made it to a damage of floating point number 3.94~e. 1.4 billion score on wave 314.

yes. score = kills * money spent.

nice chain though. anyone here into topology able to figure out what the perfect path would be on this map? (nice topic for a math exam!)

Wow. I got 1.499 billion, and I thought I did well. But it looks like you only got 107 turrets in; I managed to get in 115. I think that's the most you can fit. Here's a screenshot:

ya i saw yours on another post, u got more turrets. though i think once u get to that many, your better off using the space for dmg modifiers, correct me if im wrong though.

However, awsome job you did there regardless.

It was weird, my chain did less damage when i got 1.8 billion score (aprox 3.3~e) than when i got 1.2 mil score (aprox 4.0~e) because i had more dmg multipliers the 1st time, with less turrets.

Only thing i added differently was the shock turrets at the start 2nd time around.

hmm...

Yeah, maybe you're right. If the space was used for damage mods, I wonder if I could do more damage? I'll try it.
I'm trying the laser rocket combo again, but with a huge laser chain and with no tazers or rate modifiers. I want to save as much money as possible for damage modifiers.

lol, i can even copy the setup both of you are running but cant seem to get past about wave 140 due to out of money buying damage exchangers to be sure that the lasers shoot right.

just dont do enough damage about then

ya, dont upgrade any of the tazers cept the last ones and the first one of course. theres no point as rate isnt needed for the rocket tazers.

im thinking the best is prob 100 lasers well placed out, with the end having A LOT of room for a mad pile of dmg modifiers.

But i still dont get how i got a higher score with less damage and more turrets, than i did with more dmg and less turrets. dosnt make sense to me.

to peanutym, as you make the chain and go along, about every 20 or so lasers i make in my chain that i know im going to keep, ill upgrade 1 to max damage, to keep the head turret doing enough dmg on the incoming guys. Therefore i can focus on my chain longer.

if you look at my screenshot, you will see a few upgrade lower in the chain from when i was making it. to be exact, #9, #19 and #31 in the chain i upgraded the dmg on while i was making the chain. Those hold off all the creeps till i finished my chain off. Obviously, it dosnt have to be those exact lasers in the chain, but just to show you what i mean tongue.gif

Hmm...well, I'll try fitting in about 110, and then leaving the rest of the space open to dmg mods. But I have a new idea, and I think I could get more than 115 turrets in...

Btw, how I create my setup is this:
I make a long line of lasers that are touching each other all the way around the map, and then I sell every other one so that each one is only shooting the one ahead of him. Then I upgrade the red turret to max dmg, upgrade the last green turret to max dmg, and then upgrade the firing green turret to max dmg (In that order so that the first laser rocket will do a lot of dmg). I wait until wave 110, and then fill in the spaces I made in the beginning with green turrets, and then place dmg exchange mods so that each green turret is overlapped by one dmg mod (not two, like most people say). The reason for this is that the green turrets start to fire at the one directly ahead of them on the chain even if their range is only reduced by 30%, not 60%.
I go around the map like this until I can't fit any more turrets in, an then I start to buy the big dmg boosters. The whole thing takes a while, but it's pretty simple. You just have to make sure there are no mistakes, or the chain will break (it's extremely delicate). I had to do it at least 5 times before I got the chain to work at first.

I know most of you guys know that stuff, but there are a lot of people who have no idea how to do what we're doing, so I thought I'd write out a couple pointers. And it's really a matter of opinion whether or not each turret needs two dmg exchange mods, so don't take me up on that. Sometimes reducing their range by 60% is better.

sounds good, post up what you get when your done wink.gif ill probably do some testing today as well.

as for the rest of your post, i totally agree with your exchanger mods method. Ive mostly be using 2 and its very had to setup properly as i find myself selling and moving turrets more than i lay them down. this time ill try just 1 and see how it goes. You seem to have better success with it that way smile.gif
