Hazel eyes are versatile eyes, although many people don’t realize it. They can appear dark, golden, show hints of olive green, or light, gray-ish, perhaps even more shades, but Cove doesn't really spend hours gazing at his eyes. He has no piercings, although he has considered a lip one. He loves tattoos, and they're a total turn on (-cough-), but Cove doesn't have any because he wants to be able to give blood. He does have a brutal scar on his stomach from falling out a tree though, and he likes to pretend it looks like an eel. Beating people up and kicking in doors is not one of Cove's strong points, as is quite obvious from his neglected muscles. Pale skin, dark hair, and light eyes; a dominating combination in his French/Czech family. Cove wears his hair a little long, with the longest layer an inch or two above his shoulders. He's quite taken with hair, and his is always in top condition, shiny and tangle-free. He has nice hair, and he knows it. It's not that he flaunts it, he just 'fixes' it a lot, running his fingers through the dark brown strands often, maybe giving it a little shake. His skin is a natural pale, and it's near impossible for him to tan. It's the sort of pale that looks soft and cold. Hazel would be the best way to describe his eyes, with hints of olive green or golden brown when looked at closely. They don't change with his moods, of course; just with the lighting. When he does his very often expression of grinning, a few small, barely visible wrinkles form around his eyes, giving him an even more innocent look.
A wicked high metabolism- that's how he stays so small. Cove is a little on the short side, 5'6", but that would also be considered almost average; it just depends in the company. He's not rail thin, but he's almost incapable of gaining muscle. He’s skinny and holds himself rather delicately, at least until he launches around the room for whatever reason. Cove has an oval-shaped face, not too slender, but not anywhere near round.
He's been known to sport many different colors. He would kill for a shirt with rainbow sleeves, but has never been able to attain one. He often dyes a streak of his hair. It's always the same streak, but not usually the same color twice in a row. Green, purple, and white are a few of his favorites. Cove, of course, has a pretty good sense of style. Vintage jackets, bracelets, belts, converse, elaborate designs on t-shirts, and form-fitting pants are things he often wears. Cove doesn't like to spend a lot of money on his clothes, though, something he gets from his dad. Thrift stores and sale racks have some great clothes, if you ask him.

Cove is brilliant with people. He loves almost everyone, yet he's slightly oblivious a lot of the time. Cove is extremely smart, but because his brain races with his thoughts all the time, he often doesn't know what's going on. He's definitely a cuddly guy, and if you want a shoulder to cry on, he's your gay boy. Cove doesn't really like it when people disagree, and prefers if everyone is just as happy as he is. However, he's not a pushover if you get on his bad side. He would slap you hard if you insult one of his friends, and disrespect is something he doesn't tolerate. Sometimes, it's not that hard to piss him off. You really don't want a pissed off Cove Courter.
One thing Cove doesn’t really do is stand up for himself. He stands up for his friends, his sister, people he barely knows, and so on, but not for himself. His fiery attitude is quelled when ill-will is directed at him and that’s when he starts to become a pushover. He definitely looks for the best in people and is willing to be friends with just about anyone, regardless of House or any of that. He rarely takes an immediate dislike to people and if they rub him the wrong way at first, it’s not that hard to get back on his good side.
Cove is one of those boys that needs girls for comfort. Girls and Cove just fit. He likes hugging and talking, giggling, too, of course. Sleepovers with his girl friends are a must have, as well, even if it's just as simple as sitting around eating chocolate. Despite how he acts slightly suggestive with all his girl friends, Cove is as innocent as his best pouting expression implies. Yep, he's definitely a mostly…sort of…pure little virgin. Cove has had plenty of small attractions, but he's never allowed himself to develop a huge crush. He always talks himself out of it, knowing that either he's not good enough or something will go wrong or the boy will actually be straight or a million other negative things. He's not desperate, though, and knows there's more to life than romance.
Cove loves reading and learning. Sometimes, he comes off as an airhead, but when it comes to book smarts he's eager to outshine others. Not that he wants to put them down; it's just one of the things that makes him feel best. He has no trouble finding the will power to practice extra spells. Essays aren't his favorite though, but he's usual punctual when it comes to handing in assignments. He doesn't always read a million books in a row, but once he starts one it's rare that he'll put it down unless needed. He has a good memory, so he sees little point in studying for hours as long as he's done all the required work and maybe a little extra.
However, he's incredibly far from consistent. One second he's confident, giggly, and grinning, the next he's anxious and nervous as can be. He also has a light and airy mood, where he will gaze at everything and take nothing in, laughing and unable to tone himself down. You can never tell when this particularly odd form of him will come around, but be sure to watch extra carefully when he's dead tired but isn't able to sleep yet. You know, once that zombie state passes and he uses his last burst of energy, that's one he's the strangest. One of his least frequent emotions is anger. He's not very good at putting people down, although sometimes he bitterly wishes he was so he wouldn't be so easy to hurt. Cove forgives easily, but remember that he rarely ever forgets.

Once upon a time, ten-year-old Cove was trying to convince himself that he wanted to be manly and muscular. For two weeks over the summer he ate two packs of tofu a day and lifted weights for hours upon end. Barely anything happened, and after a long talk with his sister that he just wasn't mean to be built, Cove gave up on that. Ever since then, he can't stand tofu and he doesn't feel the need to be muscular. He didn't know that usually you cook it first, and it was gross enough when he thought it was supposed to taste that way.
Cove had a pretty normal, peaceful childhood. In fact, it was actually pretty good. He liked getting cookies from his grandmother, fishing with his grandfather (before he became a vegetarian), and his mom reading to Elizabeth and himself at night during the summer. His father was kind of a workaholic, but Cove doesn't think that really affected him that much.
Before he got his acceptance letter from Hogwarts, Cove felt he would die if he got rejected. Cove is idealistic and magic definitely works to his liking. His mother’s stories of the castle, and eventually his sister’s one she went, made him long for it all the more and Cove spent much of his childhood daydreaming about what his life would be like thee. After a little while of denial, Cove finally came out in his third year to his sister Elizabeth. She was surprised, but no one else really was and he's been even happier ever since.
Now, he lives in a small town, which Cove honestly hates. It lacks life and educated people. Cove isn't exactly a city dweller, but he loves experiencing culture and the country just doesn't cut it. With a family like Cove's, he can't help but hold intelligence in high regards, and if he wasn't ambitious he'd definitely be looked down upon. Average grades and slacking off would just not be acceptable. His dad is a muggle, but his mother and sister are witches. His was in Ravenclaw and his sister, Elizabeth is a Hufflepuff and even among them one of the nicest girls in the casle. He's very close to his sister Elizabeth, and they spend as much time as possible, despite conflicting interests and highly different personalities.
His mother was previously employed as a Healer, but took time off to plant a garden to grow rare and very useful plants to make the most complicated potions with. Cove and his mother don't get along. His parents are all fine and dandy, well, kind of, with him being gay, but his mother also thinks he just does it for attention sometimes. Honestly, he would rather be stuck in a well all night than have his mother pay loads of attention to him. His personality is not fabricated to fit the part, and quite frankly it pisses him off when people think it is. Especially his mum.
His mother and father met while his mother was studying muggle medicine. His dad was getting his PHD in Physics at the same university, and met through mutual friends. Four months later, before he even found out she was a witch, he proposed. It was sudden, and made even more surprising when she revealed her true nature just a week later. Cove himself isn't sure of over half the details, but apparently his father could accept it without a gigantic amount of fuss. Thank goodness, or the world might be devoid of Cove Francis Courter.
