[OUTOFCHARACTER] NAME; CHIPPERZ!
AGE; SIXTEEN…in two months.
GENDER; Man, what's it matter, yo?
HOW LONG YOU'VE BEEN ROLEPLAYING; Four years or so.
OTHER; Ergeeeeroarahhh!
[INCHARACTER] NAME; Kingsley Rowland Shacklebolt
GENDER; Male! Of course.
AGE; Eighteen as of October 30th.
YEAR; Seventh
BLOOD; Half-blood
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION; He’s a big boy. Kingsley is tall, around 6’2” the last time he checked. He’s not exceedingly muscular, but you can tell he could hold his own in a fight. Most of that comes from playing soccer, hiking, and just the normal kind of physical activities that teenage boys do. Kingsley’s build is not large and chubby at all, but he’s firm, toned, and of course, he’s tall. He doesn’t work out or exercise beyond what’s natural, his genetics are just like that, and he is pretty active. Kingsley has deep brown eyes and he thinks his lips are too big. His hair isn’t short, but isn’t really long, but he has a lot of it, wearing it in the form of thin dreadlocks. Not cornrows or an afro, dreadlocks. These dreads cause a little tension between himself and his grandmother, but he's quite partial to them. Naturally, his skin is a milky but rich brown. Kingsley doesn’t have a wild sense of style, but he’s not sloppy either. He has good hygiene, and God forbid be ever appears sloppy with over-sized clothes. Though, you’ll rarely catch him in a button-down shirt. Normally, it’s jeans and plain or with a faded design t-shirts that fit they way he thinks clothes should(a little tigher than most guys, but not tight enough to be stuck to him). His shoes are usually either converse, or soccer shoes without the cleats on the bottom, if you know how those are.
PERSONALITY; Not totally serious, but not a jokester. He’ll laugh with his friends, but he’s not going to be found making suits of armor fall on Filch, or dying the water in the fountain black. He’s an exceptional student. Kingsley has a knack for spells, and is even one of the few students that enjoys brewing potions. Of course, it’s not his favorite, since Defense Against the Dark Arts takes that place, but he doesn’t mind it. Kingsley is good at keeping a level head under pressure, such as tests or -cough-duels-cough-. He’s calm, but passionate, with a bit of a temper. He won’t yell at you for insulting him or anything like that, but cross the boundaries of respect for something else, and he might hex you. He’s a little too stiff to be friendly, and hugs very few people. His close friends though can sneak in a greeting hug, and he might even smile. He has to admit to having a romantic side, though he’s not always the best with it. Kingsley is very thoughtful, and he’ll send the girl of his favor roses by owl just for a surprise, or slip a drawing to her when it’s still dark out. Though, he’s a little awkward, and sometimes closed off when it comes to emotions. He doesn’t fully know how to express things, and though his voice is smooth, he isn’t the best with words. Therefore, girls get frustrated that he doesn’t say enough around them. He tries, but that’s just how he is. The words hang on the tip of his tongue, but he’s just not a sweet talker, or overly chatty. Kingsley can’t be shoved into a category, really. Sometimes he’ll smile, laugh, and be just as rowdy as everyone else, and other times you can’t even pull him away from his work, until he’ll politely, but clearly tells you he needs to focus. He never puts work off to the last minute, and works on it a little bit at a time. He’s not all about work, of course, since no one truly is. One of his many hobbies is art. Drawing and painting particularly. Mostly he draws at night, and you can find him leaning against the cold stone walls with several pencils and balled up papers around him. He doesn’t really plan it, but when he can’t sleep, a scene might tug at him. He doesn’t do portraits of any kind, though. Kingsley doesn’t feel he can do a person justice on paper, or with any kind of picture. Kingsley is the type of guy that values his time alone. After a long day or a social event, he likes to just lay in bed quietly for a while to be alone with himself and let his mind unravel. With his mother being a muggle born, Kingsley has a few ties to the muggle world. For one, he prefers soccer to Quidditch, mostly playing it, not just being a fan. Still, he does much prefer living with magic than with electronics.
HISTORY; Kingsley grew up in the country on a small piece of land. Well, not small by city standards, since it was forty acres. Out there, though, it seemed small in comparison. It was very green, with the classic flocks of sheep and herds of cattle in near-by fields. The place was picture perfect, almost, with stone cottages and streams flowing through the land. Although farms dotted the region, it was clearly a more up-scale area, considering the prized show horses, twinkling lakes, and intricate Victorian style manners. Not everyone lived this way, though, since Kingsley’s family were not part of this rich, well-bred world. The setting of his life were two houses, one that looked more like a cottage or cabin from it’s earthy appearance. Kingsley, Wesley, and their parents lived in the more modern, and larger house, while his aunt, uncle, and grandmother shared the other building. Both were nice, but they didn’t scream prestige in comparison to some of the surrounding estates. His house, and especially his room, tended to be flooded with signs of life. Pieces of mail, dishware, clothing, and all the other normal utilities were usually sitting out instead of in a specified place. They seemed to have an abundance of paintings, statue, embroidered furniture, and the like. The home appeared hectic, but it was a stable existence for Kingsley’s youth. Then, his brother was born the July before Kingsley turned seven. The winter that he was ten, his brother, Wesley became very ill. Apparently, there was a severe problem with his heart, and they had to move into London so they would be close to St. Mungo’s in case an emergency arose. Six months later, Wesley was on his way to a full recovery, but the Shacklebolt’s kept their house in London, instead of returning to the country. Kingsley often goes out to visit, finding the quiet and the clean air to be refreshing and thought-provoking. Though the city holds culture, he’ll always be attached to the place he spent his childhood in. Kingsley was ecstatic, as most eleven year olds are, when he received his letter inviting him to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The school is wondrous to him, and he can hardly think of a better place. Kingsley and his brother are rather close, since Wesley is mature for his age. He didn’t even see it as an embarrassment as some older brothers would when he realized that Wesley would one day be joining him there, as well.
FAMILY; Kingsley has a mother, father, brother, aunt and uncle, and grandmother that have played prominent parts in his life. His mother is a muggle born, from the House of Ravenclaw. She was a year behind his father, who was a Gryffindor. Kingsley lived the first eight years of his life on the same piece of property with his aunt and uncle, who is his father’s brother. They shared a small, but efficient cottage with his grandmother during that time. Welsey Indigo Shacklebolt, Kingsley’s brother, is almost five years younger than him, and he was sorted into Gryffindor, where is he is currently a second year. A lot more information will be in the History section about this young man. He doesn’t have extremely strong ties with his parents, but that’s just because they’re his parents. He’s not super into family, but he is very close with his brother, aunt, and uncle, and his grandmother at times. Although, she disapproves of his appearance, as most grandmothers will. Still, that doesn’t affect how they feel about each other. The biggest reason he rebels against his parents is because of their tendency to nag at him, especially about things he’s already taken care of. No one likes that, now do they? His family isn’t exceedingly weathly, but they have enough for a few luxuries and don’t worry much about making ends meet.
PET; Tawny owl named Copernicus
OTHER In this application Kingsley's brother is said to be in Hogwarts, but that's mostly just for background information, of course I don't think he'll become a real roleplaying character and all. And…I think that's it. YAY.
