Brae could smell the disturbance in the air. It seemed as if the earth was groaning under the mass of a terrible weight, and had reached almost the breaking point. With the swiftness and grace of a cat, she crossed over several jumbles of bushes and branches to sneak a peek at the commotion that was going on at the lake.
Much of the noise emitted from that group of men were caused by coughing and other unpleasant sounds. Her ears hurt just listening to the retching and the crackling of bones. Pushing aside a stray branch, she could just make out that these group of people were splattered with something that looked terribly like blood, and they were weary and tired. They had probably just retired from a grueling battle.
Brae wondered what was going on. She knew that the kingdom was at the brink of war much like the one that took place at the eve of Ria, and caught in between both sides were the anthros and lycans--just as it had been before. The girl sighed heavily. It was the war that had shaped Ria into what it is now, what would this war turn the kingdom into?
