The girl awoke in a tavern bed and sat up stretching. Not her own bed, a tavern bed, it had been so long since she had last slept in a bed she could call her own. So much treveling. She slipped out of the bed and washed up before getting dressed. One of the perks of staying in a tavern, they had a proper bathroom. The girl by the name of Brandy was now dressed in a black collar, a silver albatross knecklace, a black tank top, a black short skirt, stockings and her flat black shoes. She quickly Brushed her chestnut hair before leaving the room with her posetions in a black rucksack on her back. She quickly made her way down the stairs into the already open tavern and took a seat at a tale. A large badger was soon by her side at the table.
"The doors locked and i returned the key" he said in a gruff voice
"Thank you" she said stroking him with a smile

A woman named Selven sat at a table in the dark corner of the tavern and watched as a shockingly large badger made its way to a tavern table and stood next to a young woman sitting there. Selven noticed she wasn't the only one watching. The odd pair had several sets of eyes covertly lookin gthere way. After all a huge beast like that badger was hard to miss. Especially one that talkative (for a badger at least).
Selven noticed a few stray hairs where tickling her nose and tossed her head idly to the side. The casual motion sent hair long golden her cascading through the air, as it caught a stray beam of light from the window it seemed to glow. She smiled to herself. That same hair tossing motion had earned her more than a few free drinks from dazzled barmen across the country.
The way she dressed probably helped her in her quest to acquire free gifts. She wore an expensive red velvet tunic over a white silk button up shirt. A shirt with more than a few buttons strategically undone to highlight her 'features'. Her bottom half was clad in tight fitting tan britches and thigh high black boots that were fastened up with several belts. The whole outfit was topped off by a large loose fitting brown leather belt and a red bandana to hold her hair back.
Buckled to her belt was an ornate black leather sheath. The hilt that protruded from the top of the sheath was basket shaped, with a small crosspiece. It looked as if it was crafted from gold, and was unmistakably the hilt of a rapier. It was the first real clue to Selven's job. Freelance adventurer, mercenary and onetime merchant captain. She had given up her ship for a while and decided to test her luck on dry land (where certain unkindly naval authorities couldn't find her.)
As she sat and ate her breakfast she wondered casually where exactly the girl over there had acquired her furry companion. Selven assumed giant badgers weren't all that common. She hadn't seen many in her journey to Treno, and she had passed through a few forests. Or did they live in mountains? She wasn't really a wildlife expert.

"It's time we left, we are getting to many viewers" whispered the badger as quietly as he could do Brandy, although this didnt come naturally to him.
"Ok" She said picking up her back and linging her bow and quiver over her shoulder.
The badger then led the way out of the bar with Brandy slowly following in it wake, turning she gave a quick wave to the barkeep and left closing the door behind her. The pair quickly made there way into a side alley incase of any fur or rare animal hunters that may give chace... This tended to happen a lot to the pair after leaving crowded places with people watching them and they didnt think this time would be any exception, one of the bar goers clearly had a rapier and there was a few glints of metal as they left.
"notice anyone? how long till we can leave the alley?" Brandy asked impatiently.

Selven watched carefully as the strange pair hurriedly left the tavern and shut the door.
Just where are they going I wonder?
Selven considered following the pair out the door. The fact was that life on land had been boring Selven. Work was thin on the ground and money was hard to come by, and a lack of money meant a lack of night in inns on soft beds. She was feeling bored and frustrated, and following this odd pair might be the sort of fun that she needed to cheer her up.
Can't follow them out of the alley though... that's too obvious. Perhaps another route?
Quietly Selven got up from her table and wandered upstairs, flashing the barman a dazzling smile as she passed him. At the end of the corridor she found what she was looking for. A window that overlooked the alley outside the tavern.
Out in the alley the strange woman and the badger still stood, apparently discussing where to go next.
Perfect
With cat-like grace and agility the blonde fencer clambered out of the window and onto the thin ledge outside. Before the pair could spot her she leapt nimbly from the ledge and landed silently on a nearby roof. Luckily for her one of the buildings outside the tavern was flat roofed and long enough to allow her to follow the pair out of the alley and into the crowded street beyond.

The pair walked through the crowds, Brandy on the badgers back making quick progress they headed for the city gates, when people got suspicious of them it was time to leave the city for a while, and besides outskirts always offered better hunting. They were still unsure as to where they were going to go or what there main aim should be, they were travelers for the time being, living off the land and fighting the monsters that appeared for the sake of riding the world of them, although this was to big a task for two people. Every little helps.

The sneaky Selven had continued to follow the odd pair as they made there way through the city. She had dropped own from the rooftops an while ago and was now moving through the crowd. Now and then she stopped to look at a merchants stall or shop window, partially to allay suspicion that she was following the pair and partly out of idle curiosity.
The girl and badger were almost out of the city now, and nothing interesting had happened to them yet. No muggers, monsters or badger hunters. Selven felt cheated, she wanted adventure and fun! She sighed and decided that following might have been a mistake. It was too late to turn back now though, she might as well stick with them for a while longer.

"what d'ya say we leave our mark on this place?" Asked Brandy with a cheeky smile on her face.
"You mean...?"
"Yep! Go on, you know you want to!"
"alright alright! It is fun" replied the badger with a smile on his face.
"Do it!"
The badger meandered off course from the gate heading towards a market stand selling fruits, mainly watermelons. As the pair drew closer they gained speed until the badger dived and slid down before pushing up with his strong forearms sending the cart and contents flying. The pair quickly recovered and were off running again, leaving whatever chaos they had caused behind them.
"Haha! that should of lost anyone following us! you can never be sure with hunters if they are following you or not!"

Selven swore loudly as the crazy badger dived into a vegetable cart and sent it flying. With frightening speed a veritable salad of projectiles was sent flying towards her. She had only one choice to protect herself, with lightening speed she drew her rapier and began to skewer the flying produce before it could hit.
After several seconds of this her sword was covered in fruit and veg and the rest of the wreckage was lying on the floor. She smiled and ran after the two, leaping the broken cart and running down the street. As she ran she brought her sword to her mouth and took a bite out of an apple.
At least I got something out of this.

The pair paused in a open clearing in the trees and sat in the shade as russ the badger regained his breath.
"we'll rest her for a little while and then make our move, its probably best to avoid treno for a little while so where are we going to head to?" asked Brandy thinking out loud.
"i dont know, maybe a treasure hunt through the wilderness and kill some of the monsters that have been showing up lately" replied Russ breathing heavily
"ok then!" shouted Brandy happily
Just then the pair heard rustling in the trees from the direction they had just come from.
"someones coming" said Russ looking intently back into the forest.

Selven had pursued the fleeing pair through the town, but had lost sight of them as they entered a copse of trees. She continued to run though, just in case she could catch up. She didn't really know why she was still pursuing them, it was more of personal thing now though.
She dodged a tree and jumped over a fallen log then slashed her way through some thick bushes. After she had clambered through the leafy barrier she found herself in a small clearing.
With shock she realised both the girl and the badger were there to, staring straight at her.
"Uhh.... Hi?" she said.

Selven looked at the pointy looking arrow and held up her hands.
"Woah calm down. I swear I'm not a fur hunter. Honest."
I wonder if i could take them.... that badger looks pretty fierce but the girl mostly looks inexperienced.
Even though her hands wer eup Selven still held her salad laden rapier.

Selven eyed the huge badger nervously but he seemed to have backed down. She lowered her hands and tried to look friendly.
Now all I need is a good reason to have followed them.
"Err... the truth is I wanted to talk to you to about some kind of partnership. I'm looking for someone to team up with and... I bought food as a tribute."
I hope they buy that...

Russano took another step forward, lowering his arms slightly. He knelt down slightly to look straight into selvens eyes.
"A partnership?? you mean like traveling round searching for adventures and shiny treasure together?" Brandy asked excitedly "That sounds great, we've never had a travel buddy before!"
"Or a human shield" said Russano still staring at Selven.
