The Last Haven

Wandering through the forest a young raven haired girl in contemporary ware, sighed and twirled her gun on her finger, a young wolf girl clad in platemail dragging a twisted greatsword behind the pair as they searched fruitlessly....

"Heather, you sure you smelt....whatever you smelt around here?"

Nodding Heather stopped and looked up at Rachel looking extremely determined, as she pounded her fist against her breastplate

"Heather say someone nearby...so someone nearby."

Staring, the girl rustled Heather's hair and smiled, as she continued to look for the person in question...

"Can't argue with that..."

[Tetsuwan Melty]

Further into the forest, a youth stood atop a free branch observing his surroundings.

"I swear these scouting missions are the worst. They make the stasis rooms back at the guild look almost exciting"

From his pocket he takes out a small amulet. Flicking it once the amulet faintly glows blue.

"As expected, no magical anomalies here either"

Before he is able to put it away the amulet flashes yellow

"You just like proving me wrong don't you?" He says to the amulet "Well whatever it is its coming this way, so let's wait and see"

Spotting him Heather soon ran up to the young man and stared for a moment as her companion made her way over, letting out a low whistle...

"Well I'll be damned...ya found'em...alright then do what you usually do in these situations.

And with that Heather began shaking the tree at it's base to try to get him out of it.

[Tetsuwan Melty]

"Whoa hey! What's with the sudden earthquake - AHH!" the youth lost his footing, and balance from the shaking and went crashing towards the ground.

Landing face up he looks toward Heather "Y'know...theres better ways to get a man's attention than shaking him out of a tree.." He winces

Smiling Heather rushed over to him and smiled as Heather sat on him using the weight of her sword and plate mail to pin him in place.

"All done."

Bending down the raven haired girl grinned at him and grinned...

"No there isn't. Who're ya and whatcha doinnnnn' here bucko?"

[Tetsuwan Melty]

"Yeah there is..." Gasping for air under the weight of the armor, and large sword

"My name is Kale...Kale Mira, if you want to get technical throw "The Doppelganger into the middle of my name." He says, struggling to free himself from Heather's weight.

"I was sent here from the Summoner's Guild for a small scouting mission. Basically finding any kind of magical anomalies in the area"

Heather, licking Kale on the cheek just kept sitting on him as the raven haired girl sat beside them twirling her gun again...

"Whelp can't argue with that, kinda busy with somethin' like that myself..."

Gently pushing Heather aside and freeing him from the burden of the wolf girl...

"Whelp Rachel Redstroke, at your service, or rather I'm kinda busy so mind if I borrow your service for a sec...?"

[Tetsuwan Melty]

"Sure theres a whole bunch of "Summoner Contracting", and some other bureaucracy the Guild has people go through went asking for our services" Kale said picking himself off the ground and brushing himself off

"But I conveniently let my contract materials back at the Guild, so we can skip all that. What kind of business did you have...Rachel yes?"

[Skillkill]

Standing she nodded and nudged him in the shoulder..

"Ya heard somethin' weird was goin' on nearby and I wanted to see what was up. Some guys were awfully eager to spill their guts in the bar the other night..."

Tapping her gun to her head she thought for a moment as Heather watched intently...

"Well okay it was technically I was aiming a little lower....and they may not all be guys anymore... but anyway I heard some bandits were nearby and we need ta check out what they're up ta."

[Tetsuwan Melty]

"Bandits eh? Well better than looking for magic anomalies that probably doesn't affect us in the slightest" He says taking out the amulet while wiping the saliva off of his face with his sleeve

Flicking the amulet once again, the amulet glows a bright red. Seeing this he took a quick look at Rachel, and one at Heather (Well they don't appear to have an magical qualities but, then again most anomalies like this don't)

"By the way your friend..." He says putting the amulet away "I don't believe we've introduced...at least properly that is" He wipes at his cheek again

Pounding her chest the wolf girl smiled as Rachel began to wander off...

"Heather is Heather."

Glancing back Rachel nodded...

"C'mon let's get goin'!"

[Tetsuwan Melty]

"...Noted, just warn me when you get that friendly alright" Kale says as he follows behind Rachel

"So these bandits. Besides being dirty theives what else have they done to incur your wrath?" He asks

Nodding and following the two Heather smiled and continued to drag her sword behind her as Rachel nodded and looked over to Kale.

"The bandits who I decided to leave be tried hitting on my best friend, and started bugging me on my day off..."

Frowning and glancing away she sighed...

"Oh and something about exploiting some sort of dimensional vortex or whatever, I wasn't really paying much attention after I beat the first one to unconsciousness..."

[Tetsuwan Melty]

"Oooh the plot thickens, that might actually be what the guild elder's were yammering on about as well and sent me here to find. You seem pretty nonchalant about this. You hear about dimensional vortexes in your line of work often?" He asks

Rachel sighed and shrugged as they wandered fairly aimlessly...

"It's my job to know about these things...unfortunately I've been using Heather as my blood hound and all I've found was squirrels, a pie shop, you and only one of them was interesting..."

Tilting her head Rachel glanced over to him...

"Notice anyone strange or have a way to find strange guys, or do I need to use plan b?"

[Tetsuwan Melty]

He shakes his head and sighs "Well there was my amulet that tracks magic anomalies or magic signals that are unregistered with the guilds"

He checks it once more, and sees its still flashing red. "Unfortunately I don't think it will help us in this situation its picking up signals from something else"

"What's plan b?" He asks putting it away again

Rachel stared at it and nodded...

"Plan B, let's head into town, we're getting you fitted..."

Heather stared in....what at best looked like pity.....

"...Fitted?" He said confused. He looks at Heather's face (Considering her face...nothing good)

After a while of wandering they finally made it into town and Rachel began leading them to the tailor looking through a set of dresses some frilly and some plain, some fancy some weird...

"Mhm...Yo do you know anything about fashion?"

Heather meanwhile began gnawing at Kale's shoes

"Not a lot I barely keep up with - Hey, hey cut that out" Kale says gently pushing Heather away from his shoes.

"Why are we here anyway, kind of an odd time to have a fashion crisis, and go on shopping spree don't ya think?"
