What are your thoughts on the comic book?

I just picked up my copy of #1 and it was really good. I liked how they portrayed Egon and they really did a nice job of picking up the 20 year slack. It feels like the movie's end really just happened 6 months ago and a nice touch was the comment with Cameron Diaz. tongue.gif

Good job!

Yeah, the comic was awesome! Great art really made me feel like the transition from the NY firehouse to the LA one was there like in the movie. It felt like NY more than most non-NY based guys can do it. My only gripe is if they wanna make it contemporary they should change Ecto's license plate color to at least white instead of orange.

I liked how the glow of the subway ghost seemed like something out of the movies. biggrin.gif

My other gripe is the price, too. Ya know, I buy a lotta comics and with the recent economy keeping up with them all is getting to be a pain in the pocket!

I gotta say I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was happy to see something new with the Ghostbusters. smile.gif The series needed something like this.

I only had a little complaint about Depressed Ray. Not the face or emotion I'd like to see when I think of Ray.

Egon's oblivity to Janine was great. It kinda reminded me of the first movie. I really hope the two get together in the comic.

Ray=Well...interesting. I really must know what his deal is.
Egon=Oblivious. Straight to science. Very good.
Peter=Funny. Classic.
Winston=Hey, he's there with some acual lines. Yeah. tongue.gif
Janine=Sexy. Wonderful lines.
Dana=Hmm...what's up here?
Louis=Oh, dear LORD!!! ohmy.gif What the hell happened here? I really hope this is explained.

And here's to the second issue. cool.gif May all go well or just as good as the first issue.

Yeah I have to agree with you. Louis and Ray had some bad cross overs.

However, its nice to see that the comic book is following in the pattern of Ray's obsession with Einstein.

I think he was mostly depressed because Ghostbusters is going away from what he wanted it to become.

Yeah, well, it ended the way it ended to keep us on the edge of our seats.

Same thing happens when you're watching a good TV show than suddenly there's a To Be Continued... message and you're like NOOOOOOOO!!!!.

The ending kept me in suspense, but also gave me the opportunity to reread the comic book wondering what line could possibly be hinting to what is to come. I'm not sure if I really found anything, but there were tons of references and Easter Eggs. rolleyes.gif

We might want to list some of those Easter Eggs.

I wish I could read the book again but I packaged it up and am keeping it safe. I mean its a freaking best selling #1!!!

The fact that the containment unit looks a lot like the one from the cartoon series is a reference.
I've even heard someone point out that the roof still has a hole in it. Well, actually the hole has some boards over it. (This is in one of the panels where Peter and Ray are talking on the roof.) So, maybe they still haven't finished all of the reconstruction on the firehouse.
There's also Peter saying they're franchising Ghostbusters. Something that he's considered off and on during the cartoon series.

Oh, some really big stuff is in the very first panel where there's an article about them defeating Gozer. It says Stay-Puft stepped on a church. (Apparently no one knows the name of that church. wink.gif ) And partially cut off is Peter's line, "We came, we saw, we kicked it's ass." cool.gif

There might be a few more, but that's all I can think of right now.

Well, I got 4/5 covers. I just need to save up $15 so I can get the UV cover and complete my set.
