What a day...What a fucking long day! Clarissa shift had only been five hours, from six to eleven, but it seemed like it lasted forever. It seemed like it had been ten hours instead of just five. Clarissa hated those days. After a longer then usual day Clarissa knew exactly what she needed, so she had changed into a pair of jeans and a light pink t-shirt and hauled herself off to the bar and plopped her well toned ass on a stool.

"Two shots of grey goose and a lemon drop martini please," she said, a note in her voice tellings the bartender to hurry.

Clarissa desperately needed a drink after a day like this. So she was more then a little fond of vodka, but it couldn't hurt. She was twenty-one. She was in her prime. Her liver was fine and she was going to use it until the thing needed replacing. Clarissa was well known for her drinking in some circles, just as she was known for being a party girl. Those were both completely true, but some people added another "fact" to those two. Some thought she was a slut. Sure she'd had a couple of one night stands, but she was by no means a slut. One of her flings had turned into a relationship, which had ended a couple months ago, and the other one had been with a good friend. She was so not a slut.

After downing one of her two shots, Clarissa began sipping at her martini. She could already feel the familiar warmth of the alcohol rushing through her system. Clarissa hadn't eaten for a few hours and she was a light weight to began with. She was also known for that. She could play as it she was sober for the most part, but four shots was enough to completely floor her.

She flipped her blond highlighted hair over her shoulder and gazed down into her martini as the bartender brought her another shot. She hadn't even finished her second one. Good things she could walk home or else she'd be in a heap of trouble.

"That's it," she said, gesturing for the bartender to stop bringing her shots.

She couldn't fucking believe it. Her day off... her one day off this week and she was actually setting foot inside Kravens. How screwed up was that? She spends most of her waking life here, stuck between these walls and she's actually walking in by choice this time. Granted, there was a reason. She wanted to get plastered and she got a discount when she did so at Kraven's... so, maybe it wasn't as screwed up as she thought. It still felt wierd as hell though.

She tugs her black halter top higher up on her chest, then stuffs her hands into the pocket of her jeans. Bethany had bought her this shirt, and she wondered why it didn't stay in the back of her closet where it had settled as soon as she had recieved it. Yeah, she looked good in it, damn good as a matter of fact, but she felt self concious in it. Yeah, she was usually the first one to put on a tight skirt or shirt and flaunt some cleavage to get tips, but even this was a bit much for her. If she hadn't promised Bethany that she'd wear it at least once, she probably would have returned it for store credit by now.

She's not even aware of her surroundings as she sits at the bar. "Rum and coke, honey, and a shot of 151." Only then does Kira look around, her eyes falling on Clarissa who happened to be in the stool next to her. "Well, holy shit, doll," she says with a laugh. "What's up, Clarissa?"

Drinks seemed to draw Clarissa's eyes to them. No matter what kind. If it was a brightly colored fru-fru drink, then there were obvious reasons for her staring, but today Clarissa wasn't looking at an extremely bright drink. She was lost in her cloudy lemon drop martini. It was probably the cloudiness that drew her attention. Clouds and smoke had always seemed mysterious to Clarissa and this drink seemed to have taken on the same eye catching quality that smoke or mist had. Normally Clarissa probably wouldn't have been so obsessed with her drink, but she was just tad bit drunk. That was the reason that all of her concentration was on that drink. She actually had no idea what was going on around her; something she realized as she heard a familiar voice ordering drinks.

She sipped at her martini and glanced up, her eyes drawn to the stool next to her. How could she not have noticed one her friends...one of her extremely attractive friends, sitting next to her. She downed her second shot as Kira finished ordering and finally acknowledged her before turning to reply.

"Nothing really," she replied, "Just got off work and I'm taking the edge off. What are you doing here on your day off? Cute top by the way."

Yes it was a very, very cute top. One that showed off her friend's absolutely gorgeous figure. If Clarissa had been any drunker she might have found herself staring, but she was still able to retain some of her willpower. Staring was impolite, especially when you knew you shouldn't be staring at that person in the first place.

Ok, so maybe this top isn't so bad after all, Kira thinks with an inward smirk. "Thanks, doll," she says, smiling at Clarissa. The bartendar returns with her drink and her shot, settling them in front of her with a grin before moving off to take care of his other customers. He had served her enough times to know she'd get his attention when she was ready for more liquor. "And this is the reason why I'm here," she chuckles, lifting her shotglass in a mock toast to the woman in front of her. She slams the shot, feeling it's familiar warmth trail down her throat and sets the glass back on the bar.

"Can't beat alcohol when it's cheap." Kira shrugs, pulling her rum and coke close to her and taking a small sip. "I'm in the mood to get shitfaced, and work is closer than any bar. Add to that the fact that we get a discount on our booze and I'm a happy woman." She looks Clarissa over once, trying her damndest not to stare too much. Yeah, they flirt. Yeah, she'd seen Clarissa check her out a few times.... but still... She did look pretty good tonight though...

Shaking off that line of thought for the moment, she sips at her drink again. "How was work tonight? Or should I gauge that by the number of drinks you've had?"

"I think that's the reason everyone's here, hun," Clarissa laughed, "I know that's why I'm here."

Wasn't alcohol the greatest invention of mankind? Clarissa didn't need that rhetorical question answered by anyone. Alcohol was indeed the greatest thing on the planet. It could cheer you up and make all of your problems go away, and you could always blame the crazy things you did while you were drunk on the alcohol flooding your system. Yes it was so, so great. Clarisa sure as hell loved the stuff. Unknown to her parents, she had joined her friends in drinking since she was in high school. She'd learned how to appreciate a good buzz and being completely drunk off her ass.

"Getting shitfaced sounds good to me," Clarissa agreed, "Especially now that you've reminded me that we get a discount. I completely forgot about that."

She returned the toast that Kira made to her with her own, before downed her third shot of the night. That was enough to put her a little over the edge. When that hit her system she would be pretty dead drunk. She could handle more, but she didn't really want to spend the late night hours throwing up. That just wasn't attractive. She despised throwing up. It seemed like she just threw the cash away that she'd spent on food and drinks when she threw it up.

"Work was a blast," she said sarcastically, "I love getting my ass slapped by old men and getting no tips for my troubles."

Oh yeah. Clarissa was gone. This was very clear to her when she leaned her head on Kira's shoulder, scooting her stool closer as she did so. Normally, she kept her flirting verbal, but there didn't seem to be any harm in a bit of physical flirting. At least, her drunken mind told her that. Her drunken self, unlike the sober Clarissa, was sure that she had seen Kira checking her out more then once. Sober Clarissa doubted herself, but confidence came with being drunk.

Kira blinks, looking down at Clarissa with an eyebrow raised. Yeah, they flirted... a lot.... but Clarissa seemed the typ to never let it escalate beyond words. Not that Kira was complaining, mind you. She was far from complaining. The weight of the woman's head on her shoulder was nice, and damn tempting. She takes another sip of her rum and coke, gesturing to the bartender to bring her another shot. Alcohol was required tonight, in copius amounts.

"That sucks, Clarissa," she says, snaking her arm around Clarissa's shoulders to offer her a quick hug. "Was it the same old fart that sat in my section last thursday? The one with the yellow teeth and body odor?" Kira sudders a bit, remembering the leer the creepy old guy had given her. That dude was twisted...

She moves her arm, settling her hand back on the bar in front of her. The bartender sets her shot in front of her. Kira smiles at him. "Thanks, doll. Can you bring me another rum and coke while you're at it, please." The bartender nods, smirking at her and the head lying on her shoulder.

Under any other circumstances, Kira would be all over this and ready to make a move. But, Clarissa was clearly drunk... clearly... and Kira was not about to take advantage of that.

Clarissa's eyes closed for a few moments as she rested her head on Kira's shoulder. It was nice being here with someone who hated being here as much as she did. Clarissa wasn't really sure why she had stayed after work when she could've gone to another bar and gotten something to drink. She hadn't even remembered the discount. Weird that she stayed here when she hated being anywhere near this place when she wasn't working. It was a great place to work, but it was annoying to have to come in while she wasn't working. That was how she always felt and yet she wasn't working and was still in the restaurant. How strange. Kira was the only thing keeping her here now. She would have left after downing a few shots and drinking her martini, but as soon as Kira arrived she'd had a new reason to stick around.

"If it was then he brought friends and brushed his teeth," she answered, opening her hazel eyes again, a giggle escaping her lips, "He asked for my number and I told him I was a lesbian so I wouldn't have to give it to him. He said that explained why I wasn't into him. I was like 'yeah that's totally why'."

After a night of ass slapping from that guy and lewd comments that they didn't even whisper, Clarissa had been at wits end. The lesbian thing was half true anyway. She did like girls. Just not exclusively. What that guy didn't know wouldn't hurt him. That guy never tipped well anyway. He didn't deserve to hear the truth. Clarissa had actually thought about doing something subtley bad like spitting in their food or hitting them, which was actually not that subtle. So what. That guy was a jerl.

"Another lemon drop for me too," she added as Kira requested her drinks.

Just one more. That was what she always said. Just one more...now just one more, etc, but she was serious this time. She didn't want to be unable to walk in front of Kira, no matter how plastered she wanted to really be. Besides, she still had to walk home and she didn't relish being robbed, raped, or arrested for being drunk in public.

Kira laughs, shaking her head. "Ypu're lucky he didn't ask to watch when you made the lesbian comment." Still chuckling, Kira finishes off her rum and coke, setting the glass abck ont he bar un front of her. "The last guy I tried that with asked if he could watch and bring a video camera. Claimed he'd make me a star." Kira rolls her eyes, remembering the night vividly. The guy had been damn good looking, but had the personality of a fruit fly. Not only was he stupid, he was arrogant. His 'tip' for her that night was to tell her to stay away from flavored condoms.

"Hey now, honey. Slow down a bit. You've still got to walk home," Kira says when Clarissa orders another drink. Sure, Kira was walking home too, but her place was a damn sight closer to the bar and with a whole lot more street lights on the way.

"He might have been about to ask," Clarissa admitted, "But I cut him off and walked away. I hate guys like that. They need to keep their dirty minds to themselves and their dirty hands too. Like I'd ever let anyone watch. I'm not that kind of girl, Kira."

She laughed after that last comment and lifted her head off of Kira's shoulder to take a sip of the drink that the bartender had brought her. This really was her last one. She didn't want to get too drunk. She wanted to be drunk, but not so much that she didn't remember the night. She expected she would be just drunk enough after this drink and then she could be satisfied.

"Oh hush. I'll be fine," she began, but changed her mind halfway through her argument as she came up with a slightly devious plan, "But maybe you're right. Maybe you should walk me home."

Clarissa was terribly. Just terrible. She was so vindictive and devious. Who could blame her though? No one could fault her for wanting to get Kira to herself. Hopefully she could even invite her friend up to crash with her for a while. That sounded like fun to Clarissa. Drunken Clarissa knew exactly what she wanted to do tonight, and she didn't have any of the inhibitions that she did when she was sober. It was a dangerous combination.

Kira looks over at Clarissa, smirking at her as she picks up the drink the bartendar had left for her. Was Clarissa actually asking her what she thinks she is? Damnit it all to hell... why did Clarissa have to be drunk?! Why did it have to be now?! Why did Kira have to be so fucking honorable sometimes?! She could always play stupid in this whole thing... have a little fun and forget about anything else for a while.

So, Kira makes herself a deal right then and there. That was hint number one. Sure, Clarissa may have made that comment on accident, just letting shit fly from her mouth. If she made two more comments like that, then there was no doubting what Clarissa had in mind, making it obvious that she was into the whole thing.

"I may be a bit of a badass, honey, but I don't know if I could hold off some clown trying to make one of us his bitch. I've put a few away myself, remember," Kira says with a grin to Clarissa.

The martinis they served at this place were small, Clarissa had always known that, but it was still a little disappointing. Her drink didn't last long at all. In three gulps that glass was drained and Clarissa declined more as the bartender looked over to her for her next order. Seriously, she was done for the night. She wasn't just kidding herself. She was really, really done. For real. To make sure she wouldn't buy anymore drinks, Clarissa paid her tab and put her wallet back in her purse. She didn't want to start a new tab, so she was definitely down now. No changing her mind.

"Oh please," Clarissa laughed, "I'm not that drunk. I know exactly what's going on. We'll make it back to my place really quick. I'm sure nobody will bother us."

Okay, so the part about her being 'not that drunk' was a lie. She was pretty damn drunk. However, the party about her knowing what was going on was true. She didn't want Kira to think that she wasn't aware of what she was doing. Clarissa knew what she was doing. In fact, she was quite proud of herself for being crafty enough to get Kira to come home with her.

There's comment number two, Kira thinks to herself with an inward smirk. One more... that's all it would take. She swirls the ice around in her glass a bit, mising the last of the rum and coke in her glass before tilting back her head and downing it. "Mmmm. Rum good," she mutters with a small giggle. Those two shots of 151 were really starting to get to her, the only thing stronger that that stuff had to be homemade.

"Ah, but would you still respect me in the morning," Kira replies in a teasing tone with a small laugh. She was only partly teasing though. She hated it when she went home with someone from work, then it got all wierd and akward the next day. She and Clarissa were decent friends though. Might be the one thing to make a difference.

"Yes," she agreed, "Rum is good, but vodka is my drink.

Rum was perhaps her second favorite liquer. Vodka was definitely her first love. It was the best of all the drinks in Clarissa's opinion. Vodka mixed with nearly anything and everything. If you had vodka and some kind of fruit juice then it was a party, and a damn good party at that. The only thing that got to Clarissa more then vodka was tequilla. She actually refused to drink tequilla because it made her so bad. She became such a slut when she was drunk on tequilla. A margarita or two was fine, but if she got into shots then she was in trouble.

"You know I will," Clarissa said with a soft chuckle, teasing of course...or was she, "So you'll come up and stay with me for a while then? It's no fun being drunk alone."

If Kira wasn't getting the hint by now then Clarissa would just give up...or just pounce on her friend, but it seemed that Kira was understanding what Clarissa meant. Her teasing must have had a shred of truth to it. Hopefully Clarissa wasn't wrong in her assumption that Kira had been checking her out since they had had their first shift together. Now that was a day to remember. Clarissa remembered seeing Kira checking her out from the corner of her eye. From then on, she had flirted with her friend and done her fair share of looking. Kira did have a great body after all.

Number three, Kira thinks to herself. A grins spreads over her lips. Well, no denying she didn't know what she was getting herself into now. Tonight was starting to look better and better. "Sure, hon. You're right that being drunk alone is a drag," she says with a laugh. Maybe it wasn't such a bad thing that she had come in here on her day off. Maybe it was the best idea she'd had in a while. She'd been checking Clarissa out sine they had first started working together, and now she realized that all those times she had thought Clarissa had been checking her out were not all in her head.

"At any rate, I'm sorry you had such a shitty night, doll. Hopefully things are starting to look up," she says, still grinning.

"Only alcoholics get drunk alone," she said with a laugh, though it was completely true, "And I'm definitely no alcholic. I just really like being drunk.

Clarissa had actually been accused of being an alcoholic. She had been pissed. That person learned their lesson and, these days, she kept her drinking to a minimum, or she remembered to at least drink with different people, so that no one saw her everytime she drank. It was a carefully coordinated plan. She had a drinking cycle. Friday she would drink with one crowd, Saturday with another, etc. Genius, if she did say so herself.

"They most certainly are," Clarissa replied, grinning at Kira, "Hanging out with you is exactly what I need to help me forget this awful night."

Kira was amazing that way. Clarissa could just look at her during a bad shift and let her mind wander off for a second and her day suddenly became better. Kira always made things better, whether Clarissa was actually talking to her or just looking at her. The girl could cheer her up anytime, day or night.
