I had a meeting with the Laker Review editor, Dylan Nagy and he made it clear that he wants only new material to be reviewed for the review section in the Oswegonian. He gave me the following guidelines:

Movies: Within two weeks of the theatrical release
Video Games: Within two weeks of hitting store shelves
Music: Within two weeks of the CD hitting the store
Books: Only books that have hit the shelves within this current semester
Tech Reviews: Within two, maybe three weeks of the software hitting stores
Anime: Within two weeks of the U.S. release date OR any anime that has been released in Japan and picked up by a U.S. distributor for future U.S. release
Manga: same as anime
Comics: Only major releases like graphic novels or compilations, not individual issues of comics
Board Games: Only games released within the current semester; same as books

It is okay with him if we include STG meeting times and locations, but not in the body of the story. Include it as extra information that will appear alongside the story.

If you hold a position in the STG (committee head, officer, etc.), please let him know. This will be included at the bottom of the story. If you are just a member (like me) just say that.

For more info, just e-mail me, talk to me at meetings or contact Dylan.

He is flexible on these guidelines. If there is something you want to review that doesn't fit perfectly in the guidelines, just talk to him about it. For example, some computer software is very involved and may take more than two or three weeks of tinkering to review properly. He is perfectly open to extending the guidelines on a case-by-case basis.
