(This is a re-post, copied from the "introduce yourself" forum.)

Hey gang, Jud here - not a member, just a nerd. I'm looking to get some local people into Flames of War. I've been playing games of all sorts for years including Flames of War, and I have to say the reason I stick with FoW is the quality people that play the game. The only problem is, there aren't many locally! Generally, I drive four hours at least to participate in a tournament. Bleh!

FoW is a miniature game based in WWII - but if you're not historically inclined don't be intimidated. At it's heart, it's a mini rule set on par difficulty-wise with Warhammer, that just happens to be set in a historical setting. Tried 40K and wasn't impressed with the players or the rules? Give FoW a shot, because both are quite different from what you might expect.

Here's the (obvious) url: www.flamesofwar.com

So, if anyone's interested in trying the game, let me know. You wouldn't need anything to get started, as I've got a few painted forces to choose from. If there are a few people interested, and a demo could be arranged, I'd be more than happy to run one!

Looking forward to meeting some local players dissatisfied with other mini systems, or simply looking at trying out a new game!
