Only recently have we (me and Pat) been informed that there is a certain individual who is claiming to be the bonafide owner of the
Napoleon`Dynamite account. LevelUp! GMs recieved emails from this individual, and he has expressed his intent to concede this guild's RPC slot due to "personal reasons".
First off, we attest that
WE DO NOT KNOW WHO THIS PERSON IS, who says that he is Napoleon`Dynamite, and speaks in behalf of Teleios. We have
never met him, neither in-game or in real life. The Napoleon`Dynamite
we know,
and the rest of Freya server knows, is no other than
Jovito Santos (known to many as
Jovet).
The same Jovet Santos who represented Teleios in the grudge match versus BBF at the RWC Celebration EB at Robinson's Galleria.
The same Jovet Santos who GM Cassiel invited, along with the rest of our allies (Frailty and PK),
for a photoshoot for the Game Heroes site.
The same Jovet Santos who faced insults and ridicule from the rest of Freya, just for the sake of representing Teleios, who has sacrificed so much and yet made the singular blunder of using a
borrowed account for his GM character.
Jovet may have not been the creator and original owner of the said account, but for the greater part of this year, he has played the role of Napoleon`Dynamite and Teleios Pink GM and no one else. Only now is he unable to login the said account. For us, the timing is indeed suspect. is it totally unbelievable that some other guild who considers us a rival would do such a thing to
deny us a chance to defend our title as Server Champions?
We also challenge this person to
show proof, not of his ownership of the said account, but
of his membership in Teleios AS A PERSON, and not merely as a GM character. This guild has ardently prepared for this RPC wildcards, we've funded a mini-RPC tournament last monday (August 25, 2008) just to make up the lineup selection process equal and fair. Would we, as a guild, go through all of this trouble to secure and prepare for this RPC slot only to give it up in the end without a fight?
We have maintained relationships with major guilds, not only from our server, but from other servers as well, many of whom remain RPC contenders this year. Through these people, anyone can make a background check on our guild, and it's council's identity and intent. We are sure that none of them will have any hesitation whatsoever to backup our claims.
We also question just how much this person did to secure the wildcard slot he is now giving up so freely. Pat and I personally shelled out
AT LEAST Php33,350 in the last three hours of voting alone, and thousands more in the days of the nomination and wildcard voting phase. This person who is now giving away this slot what we, and the rest of the guild and alliance invested so much in, just how much of those 17k+ vote points came from his myLU account?
(We have sent/attached a screenshot of our myLU's Credits History, for the rest of Level Up Games to see. They can check for themselves the transaction logs of our myLU account and the voting records to verify this information)
It is sad that we have been informed of this issue only now, and we are expected to mount a decent defense in a span of one night. In this short time alloted, we managed to scavenge numerous screenshots of characters who have, at one point or another, been a member of the Teleios guild under Napoleon`Dynamite. Our guildmates are providing these screenies freely,
as a sign of support and testament to the fact that we, as a guild,
have no intention of giving up this slot so freely. If time would only be on our side, I am sure these members would be more than willing to make personal appearances or at least a show of signatures to show their support for our RPC bid. We do not intend our guild's dreams and hopes to be shattered, just by obliging the whims and dark intent of this one person we do not even know.
Screenshots uploaded hereIt simply defies all logic and reason, not to mention decency, that any person would invest so much into ensuring an RPC slot, only to give it away at the last moment with no compelling reason other "personal problems".
Lastly, on a personal note, I am quite saddened that despite our continued loyalty as a player to Ragnarok Online after all these years, and after all this guild has been through last year, when we humbly accepted LU's ruling regarding the rematch, that LU still does not recognize Dr. Patrick Gerard de Guzman as Teleios' representative. if he was good enough to be recognized as last year's
bonafide representative of Teleios guild when we were asked to defend ourselves in last year's rematch controversy, would it not be only fair to recognize him as a representative of Teleios guild now?
How depressed we all are when we received the ruling. And how we humbly accepted it and still kept fighting in spite of it. And yet here we are again, grasping at straws and backs against the wall, facing the very real possibility that all of our time, effort and MONEY spent will be for nothing yet again.
Any GM would tell you that at any given time he always takes into consideration
his guild's best interests. Why then would any decent GM shatter the dreams and hopes of an entire guild for "personal reasons"?
Surely the interests of one person who persistently refuses to show his face cannot supercede that of
an entire guild, who remains loyal to this game they continue to play and love after all these years and to the company that provides it.
As final note, we humbly requested from the panel (RPC 2008 Tournament Committee), that their good office might facilitate a face to face encounter with this person. If even the most evil of criminals are given chances to face their accuser, then at least give us the dignity of facing our tormentor.
It is our deepest prayer that the Tournament Committee may take the time to consider and view all that we have presented on our email, and that they may find it in their hearts to grant Teleios a chance to defend it's title.
