Adrian hit the ground hard, the rappel slowed his fall but the fact that Adrian was kind of a big guy didn't help much. He immediately unclipped himself from the line and moved as another pair of boots descended down to meet the ground. Adirian sprinted into some shipping crates that were littered around here, they were probably everywhere from Elexis's shipping operations. There was some minor gunfire, thankfully small arms, seconds later those thoughts were shoved down his throat as gunfire peppered Adrian's cover, sparks could be seen, accompanying a distinct PANG! as the bullets from their rifles impacted against the metal of the crate. Adrian ducked back, if he were to come out to try and snap off a few shots he would only get a bullet through his skull and be known as the "dumbass who got killed when we had one of the biggest busts in the seekers" since this was a huge opportunity, for once not only was Elexis showing her face, but they knew exactly what time she was going to be here. Adrian waited for the chaingun on the gunship to open up, the cheap sheetmetal sides of the warehouse couldn't survive rounds that were meant to go through light tanks, and what ever cover as well as the militants were shredded to pieces. Those who could have possibly survived the thunderous volley from the chaingun scattered into the warehouse, for now they were going to have a clear deployment. He looked back to see his squad in several pieces of cover, steel crates, a transport truck rusted over from when NewYork was inhabitable, There was another squad that was moving towards the warehouse, They had to comb ever single square inch of this place, no need to let Elexis slip through the one chance they were going to have in a LONG time. Adrian's squad signaled for him to advance and he nodded, giving a count on his fingers to show when he was going to advance...
3... 2... 1... GO GO GO!
Adrian moved up, keeping his assault rifle primed to take out any targets that could possibly present themselves. Seeing none he eventually go to the door and pressed himself against it, he gave another countdown, just like in training, 3...2...1... Adrian kicked in the door and sweeped his rifle, tracking for movement. It was just a hallway that would lead to the main storage area. He continued down the corridor, knowing by the icons on his land warrior's HUD that they were right behind him. He rounded the corner and caught one of the smugglers off guard, he didn't raise his weapon and Adrian yelled at him, "HANDS ON THE GROUND! Drop your weapon, NOW!" The smuggler raised his weapon and adrian fired a three shot burst right into his leg, there was a spray of blood as the bullets passed right through his leg. The smuggler screamed and fell to the floor. Adrian continued forward and his comrades were right behind him, they were handcuffing the smuggler and making sure that he wouldn't get ahold of his rifle. Adrian pressed against another one of the cold walls, around the corner was the entrance into the main storage area, and chances are there was going to be alot of hostiles. In the distance he could already hear the charges beings set off on cashes of weapons and supplies, they could leave nothing left for the mutants. Adrian held up his hand and counted down, 3... 2... 1...

Elexis partly wished that she didn't let her anger get the best of her when the foreman revealed himself as a traitor. If she hadn't rather spectacurally decorated the wall with his brains she could have just taken him back alive to her bunker, and made sure that he would regret his decision, either that or just inject him with her vile poison, at least then he'd suffer before he died. But Elexis quickly put those thoughts from her head, her survival instincts kicking in. But before she could scuttle off to handle business Jay spoke to her after some apparently tense conversation, "Who sent them?" Elexis explained herself, "The foreman who was supposed to be incharge of my shipments decided that he'd rather become a martyr and tried to lure me out here for the seekers." Elexis ducked the upperhalf of her body when she heard gunfire close by, it came from the hallway that she entered through the building in. Elexis quickly drawled her pistol and saw that there was thick vines in the way, but then she looked over and noticed that one of the other mutants was very strained, a typical sign of him using some sort of gift. The vines were blocking the way but they wouldn't do so for too long, Elexis heard footsteps behind her and saw that some of her bodyguards emerged from the room, Just as she noticed them the scent of burning paper hit her and they must have finished their job, but there was still paperwork to destroy. Elexis pointed down the hallway, her voice carried all the authority that it usually had when talking to those who worked for her, "That won't work for long, the seekers can always outlast us, head down this hallway and once you get to the stairs go down, there's all sorts of tunnels down there."
She waited until they had started to move to speak to her bodyguards, "Make sure they don't follow us," They nodded and got ready to ambush the seekers that cane her way, Elexis said, er... yelled one last thing at them, "Give me the rest of your fuel, do it." The guards took out little canisters, which looked almost like a hip flask for booze, and tossed them to her. Elexis put all of the canisters within her jacket, they all contained fuel that she would use for burining papers, all she could really hope for at this moment was not getting caught and dragged to the facility in a rather large crate.Elexis scuttled off, every room that she came to she packed all of the papers into a trash bin and lit another fire. She didn't care if she burned the building down, that would just be less for them to seize and use against her. Elexis eventually made it to the emergency exit that she told the others to get down, it was a rather tight fit and two of her eight legs were hanging through the bars. But eventually she managed to make her way to the subterranean tunnels that would lead to the sewer system, it was better then trying to go out into the open with helicopters searching you Elexis's rather unique silhouette. She came out of the doorway, another awkward squeeze, and came into a room littered with crates, These were the military rations, foodstuffs and other material that really was for more of a general customer and actually was a very popular item for most customers, even if they were buying from Elexis indirectly. Elexis started towards the entrance to the tunnels...
Elexis couldn't see the children, and she didn't care if the children were actually doing the right thing to try and survive this, the only regret of they didn't was that they wouldn't be able to pay her back that money they owed...

"The foreman who was supposed to be incharge of my shipments decided that he'd rather become a martyr and tried to lure me out here for the seekers."
Oh. Jay had forgotten for a moment that they were hanging out with the most wanted person in New York at the time - besides them. One glance at Greg told her that he wasn't going to be able to hold out much longer; the vines were already starting to diminish, and he was doing his best. "All right Greg, stop before you hurt yourself." Jay clapped him on the shoulder and looked back at the mayhem going on nearby. Great. Now they were after their supplies, and this was one of the few places left in the city. She wasn't sure what she could do to help the already exposed Elexis...but perhaps she could try and divert some of the attention. But one kid against a whole army...? Not one of her best plans. Still, she had to do something. "Kiki. Get the kids out of here. I'll catch up." Before the older girl could protest, Jay had squeezed through the remaining vine shield and between several large crates, unseen.
Squinting, she focused her whirling mind and let fly a crate towards a group of Seekers who were nearing the building. She winced as she felt something like shrapnel nick her shoulder, but didn't stop. At least, not until she was nearly flattened by a small bomb set off too close for comfort. There were brand-new cuts and rips in her clothes, but it was all normal to her, and she sneaked to the side of the building and found a door. It was locked, but a quick mental probe took care of that minor setback, and she slipped inside. She could smell burning paper, and saw small fires sprouting up in one hallway, but wasn't too worried about the building being destroyed. She headed for the front entrance, turning her watch several times until she got the setting she needed. There was a chance that this wouldn't work, but it was worth a try...probably. Jay pressed herself against a wall near the front, twisting her watch's dials until she had a life-sized, realistic hologram of Elexis standing in front of her.
Before she got too creeped out by her own watch's abilities, Jay directed the hologram to run -or scuttle, whatever you call a spider's run- into the shadows, attracting the attention of a few Seekers. She could see the hologram's direction on the watch screen, and the Seekers were being led farther and farther away. Hopefully they'd not think too hard about why their bullets were having no effect, or why the fake Elexis was moving so fast...

Adrian was lucky that he slid as far as he could, especially on the concrete. If it wasn't for the leg armor that he was wearing Adrian'd be in alot of pain if he'd try something like this. But he made it against the large shipping crate and was rewarded with the loud clang of bullets impacting against the metal shipping crate that he came too. Apparently presenting himself as a target really only managed to tempt fate.Adrian watched as his team started to give him covering fire, After a bit of return for the hostiles decided to duck for their lives and actually try and avoid fire. Adrian came out from his cover and searched for any hostiles, taking a few shots over the heads of whoever was hiding against the metal plated sides of the catwalks or on perches made from the shipping crates, the shots were far from hitting but according to Adrian's HUD his team was moving to cover and would get into a better firing position. Adrian kept scanning for any threats and took any shots at any of the militants who looked like they were gaining some courage. But they quickly realized that only one soldier was firing and they began to return fire, When Adrian ducked back he could see one of the militants moving amongst the catwalks crisscrossing the warehouse. When the militant realized that he had been discovered he raised his rifle, an AK 74 that had seen better days, and started to fire. Adrian squeezed the trigger on his own weapon weapon and sent a quick burst into his target. But as he did so a bright lance of pain flew up his leg as his opponent was either wounded or dead, either way he was no longer a threat. Adrian looked down at his leg and saw the hole the size of a dime in his lower leg. It didn't feel deep and was probably just some light damage. But he was still concerned about it and now was hardly the time to treat a wound when an enemy could simply take advantage of it and it would cost your life or the life or your comrades.
Adriann heard the sergeant in his radio, "Adrian, bravo's think they've seen Elexis, something's strange about her, or at least her legs, all they've got is breif sightings. Get up there and search and clear." Wrong with her legs? Adrian had seen the photos, the mug shots taken from long distance and there didn't seem to be anything wrong with her, if anything she was kind of hot, or at least until you read what she was wanted for, now Adrian wouldn't touch her with a 10 foot pole. Torture, arms dealing, even some rumors of cannibalism. But now wasn't the time to be daydreaming about the wanted psychopath who happened to look like a beautiful woman. Adrian waited for his team to begin giving him covering fire and then he got up and started to run. Only to find his leg flare up in horrible pain once he put weight on his leg. This was just fucking great, he immediately tried to haul his wounded ass to some safety and Adrian went around the corner that he just came from. And started to move towards the upper floors according to the blueprints. Once he managed to get himself up the stairs Adrian couldn't take the pain anymore, He could feel the bullet in his leg and thanked god that that militant wasn't packing armor piercings rounds. Adrian judged that he was away from any harm and crouched down, wincing at the horrible pain in his leg. He pulled out his knife and gingerly stuck the tip into his leg, he had done this sort of thing before and knew that it was going to hurt like a bitch. Adrian eventually found the bullet, thankful that his armor absorbed most of the force of the bullet, and pried the thing out. There was a spray of blood as the small metallic object flew from the hole. Adrian took off the the lower leg protection, and wrapped a bandage over the wound. But the pain wasn't any better, if anything it was way worse. He quickly reached into his satchel and popped a baby k, the nickname for the painkillers given to GI's, it wasn't too strong, but at least it'd let him concentrate on his work. Adrain quickly reattached the piece of armor, seeing as it saved him once and it could do it again.
Adrian got up, already the pain wasn't as bad when he put weight on his leg, but it still had a dull pain, at least the bullet wasn't wriggling around inside his leg. Adrian didn't see any of bravo, speaking over the radio, "This is corporal Shephard, I'm on the second floor, any sigh of her," There was a bief pause before the other squad replied, "We have no sign of her, she's just disappeared, standard search and clear." Adrian just radioed a reply and started to move the corridor, still hating himself for getting shot in the leg. Adrian rounded a corner, keeping his watch for any other militants to shoot him in his other leg. Adrian walked down the corridor, and looked inside of one of the open doors, Adrian swore to himself as he saw a fire in the trash bin, they were burning the evidence, valuable intel, the bitch was one step ahead of them. Adrian continued to make his way down the corridor, checking each door and finding more and more information being destroyed. Adrian noticed something rather peculiar, footprints. By the looks of things someone stepped in ashes and it was now training in footprints, and they were obviously feminine. Adrian muttered one name to himself, "Elexis" Adrian knew that the tracks were probably left from her once she tried to burn all of this information. Adrian followed the tracks to a door labeled exit. Adrian gingerly opened the door to notice that the tracks didn't lead to the short blond haired woman that he expected, but instead a girl that was much younger with black hair. Adrian noticed a watch that he swore he had seen before and slowly crept up into the woman, if she was who Adrian remembered then this was about to get really awkward. Adrian slowly opened a nearby door and wrapped his arm around her neck and pulled back back into the door that he just opened. Adrian kept a firm grip on her neck with one arm, making sure not to choke the girl and had his other arm keeping her in a half lock to prevent her from drawling a weapon if she was armed. When Adrian finally got a better look at the girl it was a face that he had recognized from several days ago. One thought went through his mind...
"Oh... shit."

As soon as she felt a heavy arm around her neck, Jay's first instinct was to fight, of course - but he'd succeeded in catching her off guard. Just great. Jay swore under her breath as she was dragged unceremoniously backwards, her arm too tightly pinned to bring up her watch. Plus, she was having a hard time concentrating on any technology he might have been wearing, given her current position. Basically, Kiki was never going to let her live this down if she ever found out Jay had been caught, and that was the last thing Jay felt she needed right now. Stupid karma...it always came back to bite you in the ass, whether you liked it or not.
Her eyes widened for a second when she saw the face of her captor. How convenient - she'd made the mistake a few days ago of conversing with a Seeker, and now here he was ready to haul her off. The irony was killing her. "Fuck," she muttered, a bitter laugh or two escaping her lips. "I don't believe this." However, she did believe it - hell, it wasn't too hard NOT to. All she pretty much cared about now was the fact that Kiki might have been able to get the others to safety, and that Elexis had also gotten away without revealing herself. From what she had observed, the military bastards had no idea of what Elexis actually looked like from the waist down, which was obviously an advantage. Good. If they'd seen her projection, they might have thought it was something else entirely. The Black Widow wasn't the only heavily mutated person in this city.
Now, however, it was time to buy herself an escape. "It's the welcoming committee. Did you know you just messed up a very important concentration? Just so you know, I'm not really that thrilled about it."

While Adrian might have spilled his guts to this mutant, and while she might have trusted him for a time. Adrian still kept a firm grip, he didn't choke her out, he wanted whatever information he could get. Despite her struggle, a teenager with a rather lackluster diet of whatever she could find in the new york wasteland wouldn't have much chance against a marine who's have three square meals of crappy k rations. Adrian was thankful that the squad had omitted the helmet cameras for this mission, apparently Elexis seemed to be able to get the jump on several squads, and their helmet cams being on was the only thing seeming to link these squads to their ambush and destruction, so at least he could potentially let her go. But that brought up another very important decision for the marine, he had to say that he actually trusted Jay a bit, she was at least willing to trust him a bit instead of trying to kill him. But if she was here that meant that she had something to do with Elexis, and that meant that she should be treated like a threat. Adrian head the girl speaking, and his feelings were exactly the same, "Fuck, I don't believe this." Adrian just held her tight, so far those working for Elexis proved to be well armed and Adrian specifically remembered this girl being very competent with technology, he still didn't quite know if she was armed or not. Adrian still gave her enough room to breathe with his arm, apparently enough to speak, "It's the welcoming committee. Did you know you just messed up a very important concentration? Just so you know, I'm not really that thrilled about it." Adrian shook her a bit, mainly to get her to shut up. Just the mention of Elexis, and him still being very angry for being shot making her words piss off the soldier.
He spoke very close to her ear, mainly so that no one else would overhear it, friend or foe, "I know that you hate me, but I'm not here for you." Adrian noticed Jay looking down at her watch, and remembered that it had quite a bit of technology fitted within it. Adrian drew his sidearm, a nine millimeter pistol and pressed it against the back of her head, Adrian was done with playing nice long before he even found Jay, his tone made his anger very clear, probably a complete 180 from the grief stricken soldier that she saw before, but he was here to finally get rid of a mutant that deserved what she got, "Try and do anything and I'll put a bullet in your head. It's not right but Elexis is more important." But apparently she wasn't simply going to roll over for the seeker and let Adrian get the information he wanted, "You don't even know what that psychopath does do you? The things she's committed to your kind as well as seekers like me." Adrian took a deep breath, he hated referring to himself as a seeker, but for once he was, he was here to crate a mutant. Adrian didn't care for what horrible treatment that mutants got in the facility, or at least not when it was for someone like Elexis.
Adrian took a deep breath again, he was getting very riled up and the pain in his leg was still an ever present annoyance. He spoke in a softer tone, remembering that this girl was much more cooperative the second that he put away his rifle the first time he met her, "I'll let you go if you don't try anything... But don't try to run for it. I won't have any trouble putting rounds into your back." Adrian was a good shot with his rifle, boot camp showing to that, and he knew at this close of a range it wouldn't be hard for him to kill her. Adrian knew that his liver would pay for having to wash the memories out, but he couldn't let his mercy cause his harm or Elexis to escape, but first thing was first "Do we have a deal?"

Hey, it wasn't the first time Jay had ended up with a gun to her head, but she couldn't say she liked it much. She of all people knew when it was time to cut the snarkiness and start being more careful. It was no surprise that he was part of the group sent in today to bust Elexis, but hopefully she was able to get away in time. She knew that the diversion had helped, for they were now starting to fall back, but Jay wondered if Kiki had gotten the others to safety. But she did not completely disregard this Seeker's warning - Jay had been reluctant to ask her for help in the first place. Honestly, though, she was a person you wanted on your side.
Jay didn't say anything for awhile. She wanted this guy to simmer down a bit, as she could see a bit of blood on his leg and knew he'd gotten shot. Ouch. That was probably why he was being so surly. She debated on offering to help, but decided she might as well keep quiet about that too. He might think she was going to drug him - anyway, mutants and seekers did not help each other. It wasn't possible, not in any stretch of the human mind. She found being shaken very uncomfortable, but clamped down on any grumpy words. She needed to stay alive a little longer, actually.
"I'll let you go if you don't try anything... But don't try to run for it. I won't have any trouble putting rounds into your back. Do we have a deal?"
Jay sighed, then nodded. "Sure. I'd rather not die anytime soon, thanks. Just let me take my watch off." Slowly, so that he'd see she was obeying orders, she reached over and unclipped her watch, slipping it into her pocket. If he knew anything about her, he'd know that she'd have trouble operating it unless it touched her skin. Wasn't much of a disarming procedure, but it might work.

Jay was completely correct, Adrian was pissed off and the marine was doing nothing to try and hide that fact. Jay seemed very tense, but so would he if a physically stronger person had you in a semi choke hold pressing a loaded gun to your head. But to Adrian there was only one way he could make sure that Jay didn't turn on him, For all her knew Jay had chatted when she was off duty, If Elexis was her boss and Adrian was threatening her there was no reason she wasn't going to defend her boss. But Adrian couldn't start wondering about every what if, seeing as he still didn't know her relation to Elexis, for all her knew she was just caught in the wrong time in the wrong place. He knew that he didn't feel it was right to be harassing threatened teenagers because mother nature decided to throw them a screwball, but when it came to situations like this, Adrian would rather destroy his kidney's with alcohol trying to flush out the memory of this girl then having that bitch Elexis still running around and causing more misery. Adrian winced as he tried to move his leg, readjust his grip to make sure she couldn't weasel out of his grip and try and get away, and his leg just reintroduced itself, being a dull pain. He noticed that Jay saw his wound and the bloody bandages, Adrian was just lucky that he had a funny stocked med kit, and he knew that most of the teenagers wouldn't be able to get the same privileges, If Jay were to get shot medical supplies probably weren't of the highest quality, or at least unless one of the mutants had some sort of healing powers. Mutants threw fire, and controlled plants and "spoke to technology" why couldn't one have some abilities to heal?
Adrian tried to take his focus off of his wound for a moment, as Jay nodded, "Sure. I'd rather not die anytime soon, thanks. Just let me take my watch off." Adrian watched as the girl slowly took her watch off, probably not wanting to tempt fate by having the thing on. She certainly seemed very uncomfortable with having a loaded gun pressed to her head by the vengeful marine. She just took off her watch and put it in her pocket. Adrian put away his pistol, but didn't free her quite yet, he did a quick pat down, not in places to make it seem as if he was feeling her up, but obvious places, patting pants pockets, pant legs, sides of her shirt and such checking for any firearms. Once he was satisfied that she wasn't going to pull a gun he let her go, pushing her gently to give him and her some room. While he did this Adrian unshouldered his rifle and pulled back the action, making sure full well the girl knew it was loaded. He kept it poiunted right at her, making sure she didn't make the bad mistake of running. Adrian's words were still saturated with the hatred for the woman of it's subject, "Where that bitch Elexis? And why are you here?" Adrian was through screwing around...

Jay was annoyed.
Sure, 'annoyed' might not be the first feeling you'd think of having if someone held a gun to your head, but Jay was truly pissed. She'd known she shouldn't have trusted this guy. Even if he was sparing her life for the time being. He didn't know it, but she could kill him easily...all that electronic communication equipment still had electricity. It still was technology. In other words, it could short out if overloaded, and it'd be a bit unpleasant if a person was wearing the stuff. She decided not to do this unless he tried something, however. For now, she simply stood still while he gave her a pat down. Really, she disliked guns. For one thing, they looked odd. For another thing, she didn't want something so heavy and messy on her person.
He finally let her go and stepped away, only to point the gun at her some more. Figured. With a sigh, she did not run, but slowly slid to the floor where she could sit comfortably and still have a nice little barrel of metal pointed at her. How delightful. But his next question made her shiver - he asked where Elexis was. What was she going to tell him? She couldn't say she'd seen her go off to the distance, because what if she had actually gone somewhere open? No one knew where Elexis had gone during the distraction - she'd simply disappeared. So Jay decided to just tell the truth. Better than nothing.
"We don't know where she is," she said truthfully. "After she killed the man who betrayed her to you guys, we were hit with bombs and lost sight of her since then. I was here because we were looking for some scraps in the warehouse." She looked up at him, annoyance and hate cutting through her dark eyes. "That all you need to know?"

Adrian was easily able to pick up on the fact that Jay was angry, hell he'd seen it tons of times when he actually captured a mutant, even when it was a catch and release. Most of the time it was some sort of pride that was hurt, when whole thing of "you got caught but you were damn lucky that the bastard let you go" but with what little Adrian knew of her she didn't seem like one for that stupid sort of pride, Adrian just remember how she could mess with technology, how she was able to see through his camera and how she caused all that static. With Adrian's training he wasn't going to doubt for one moment that she could some how threaten his live with her abilities. Adrian just kept his rifle aimed at her, she threatened him he threatened her.Probably wasn't the most justifiable for holding her up, bit in Adrian's mind she was the prisoner, and he wouldn't pause in executing her should she prove a threat, But Adrian had to give it to her, the girl was smart, she slowly walked away, not scramble away from him the second that he let her go. She didn't move close to the door, she didn't try and get away from his rifle, Adrian knew that the girl was smart, but he still wasn't going to let his guard down just because this girl was smart, if anything he had to make sure that the girl would not try and outsmart him, people who ever clever had a tenancy to know it afterall...
But Jay just slid down to the floor, Adrian let out a mental sigh of relief, this wasn't a threatening stance and she probably wasn't going to try anything while sitting. Sitting against the wall against would make it awkward to draw a weapon from any hidden holster that Adrina could have missed, she was a sitting duck if she tried to run or fight. But yet again, he wasn't going to lower his rifle.
When the girl spoke she seemed like she was telling the truth, "We don't know where she is, After she killed the man who betrayed her to you guys, we were hit with bombs and lost sight of her since then. Adrian muttered a swear to himself, command was afraid of this, not only the traitor being killed, which was most likely but he seemed to accept his fate. And now it was a wild goose chase for the arms dealer... this was just great. Now for the girl's explanation as to why she was here, and if she wasn't working with Elexis why the hell would she have wandered into a warzone, "I was here because we were looking for some scraps in the warehouse." Adrian suspected as much from the girl, these warehouses were treasure troves with so many supplies that it would be hard to pass up, chances are her and any other mutants with her, they always traveled in groups, Jay just seemed very very angry, her hatred was clearly covneyed on Adrian and she didn't even need to speak to do it. She hated him for simply holding her up like this, but Adrian could relate... if someone held an assault rifle to Adrian after he trusted him, Adrian would also be very angry. Her hatred was filled with her tone, "That all you need to know?" Adrian was about to ask another question when a message over the radio, chances are the girl could hear the hazy message as well,
"Adrian... reception is low, but I got contact of her, she's on the lower floors trying to use the tunnels, moving to engage... It's hard to get any reception so you need to relay this to the squad."
Adrian nodded and he stood up, moving towards her slowly just so she wouldn't jump, it was obvious that his leg was giving him trouble. He walked up and while keeping one hand on her assault rifle he grabbed her by the shoulder and hauled her half to her feet, Before giving a soft kick, more like a nudge, so that she was sitting on her knees facing away from Adrian. Adrian looked at his HUD real quick, looking for locations of squads before he leaned down towards Jay spoke rather softly, very close to her ear, his voice was dead serious, "Don't try and stand up, wait 5 seconds before turning around. There's nothing I can do to cause the searches to just go over you... we have orders to take in even civilians so I can't just report you as one. Keep low and don't get shot, we're taking out cashes of weapons so stay away from the warehouses, Large open areas'll just get you spotted from the air so try and stay in cover and move away from here... this is just search and destroy so the second that we're done with our targets we're going to get airlifted out of here, so once you out of the grounds your home free." Adrian patted her on the shoulder and said one last thing before he started to move away, "Start counting out loud... keep it down though." He waited until the girl started to count and he backed out of the doorway, keeping his rifle braced on her back. The second that he was out of the doorway he started to move out, leaving Jay to her own fate...

She was admittedly a bit nervous after she'd given her answer. What if he thought she was lying? Would she end up with half of a head...or worse, no head at all? Still she kept her head down, waiting and hoping she'd done all that she could. Jay definitely hadn't a clue where the spider-woman had gone; it was as if she had disappeared after the betrayal. As more gunshots and explosions punished the air outside the building, she began to wonder who was going to get out of this alive.
"Adrian... reception is low, but I got contact of her, she's on the lower floors trying to use the tunnels, moving to engage... It's hard to get any reception so you need to relay this to the squad."
The cracking of the message was annoying, but Jay heard it all the same. How had she got to the tunnels without getting detected? The escape must have been desperate. Jay felt herself being hauled to her feet and turned away from the still-hurting Seeker, and wondered if he did it so she wouldn't have to look at the gun while it was shooting her. Right civil of him, probably. Her dark hair fell over her face and she didn't move to push it away as she usually did. Why? Let's face it - when you knew you were probably going to die at any moment, you really didn't have much else to say or do, and there was no need to worry about the cosmetic effect.
"Don't try and stand up, wait 5 seconds before turning around. There's nothing I can do to cause the searches to just go over you... we have orders to take in even civilians so I can't just report you as one. What? So she wasn't going to die today? He was helping her? It took all of her willpower not to say something snarky about this, and she kept quiet, keeping the surprise she felt under her skin.
"Start counting out loud... keep it down though."
She obediently started to count, crouched on the balls of her feet so she'd be able to run. Then, as soon as she hit five, she bolted. She managed to escape from the door she'd been standing at before, but this time kept behind boxes and crates and tried very hard not to erupt into a volley of curses every time a piece of painful shrapnel hit her. It wasn't long before she was out of the main battle area - which was an utter relief because by then she could sit down against a wall and rest a bit. But where had Elexis managed to get to? Now that they knew her location, she could very well be caught...and there really wasn't much Jay could do at this point.

Elexis continued to head towards the maintenance tunnels that lead towards her escape. She wouldn't haven a escort, they were too busy keeping any possible soldiers back, it would be fruitless, even though those soldiers were some of the best that the new york zone could possibly provide, they were still crap when compared to trained marines. But they would serve her well enough. Her eight taloned legs continued to make a constant and steady clatter on the concrete of the tunnels, these were made long ago when New York still had life in it. These were meant to access both the sewer system as well as the defunct subway system which was right was Elexis was headed for. She passed by old storage rooms that were little more then broom closets or possibly offices at some time that were looted of their computers. Elexis had no idea where any soldiers were, and how the smugglers had coped with the raid, she didn't care about them, there would always be more shady types that were waiting to exploit the potential gold mine that was smuggling weapons to Elexis and the few other small time dealers that were out there and managed to not be removed or infected by Elexis. But for now she would have to get to safety, hopefully any weapons that were here'd keep them busy,
"FREEZE!"
Elexis froze at that, and held her clawed hands up. The soldier didn't notice her body at all, then she saw that there were several crates and chances are he couldn't see her lower half. Elexis took a deep breath, thoughts were streaming into her head, mainly the question of if this was it, was she finally going to get captured. The soldier slowly started to walk towards her, probably taking in how she was quite taller then her but her body wasn't that tall, he must have been wondering what was wrong with her legs. "The fuck?" The second that the soldier could see what her body was really like. Elexis just kept her hands up as he was staring at the massive black widow spider that was her body, He probably also noticed that her hands weren't gloved and they were actually black. He was rather close to her, Elexis just spoke, "Alright... just don't shoot." The soldier got close to her, she was easily a head taller then him due to her rather unique build but he moved a bit closer and he reached towards his belt, Elexis saw the ziptie cuffs and the second that his hand was on them instead of bracing his rifle she used her fangs and stabbed him in the torso, right below his armor. She grabbed the gun and tried to shove it away from her as several shots rang out. She would have been shot in the chest if she didn't do it. But the soldier was already slumping to the ground as he started to trip out from her poision. She plucked the rifle from his now limp hands. She also drew her own pistol and smacked him in the head with the butt. Desert Eagles were heavy and he was out rather quickly... Elexis had plans for him.
Elexis was already hearing a second pair of booted feet coming down the metal staircase nearby... and she was ready to ambush him as well, a rather nasty little plan was already in her sick head at what she would do to them.

Adrian moved quickly, he didn't check to see if the girl had followed him, but seeing how he really scared her like that chances are Jay would get the hell out of there the second that she finished counting. He really did that to give her a head start and get them away from each other so that she wouldn't attack Adrian, and he wouldn't mistake something she did for hostility and kill her. Adrian didn't let go of his rifle when he came to a door and instead hit it with his shoulder to open the door while still being ready for anyone inside. There wasn't anyone on the other side, the sounds of small arms were really starting to die down now that the opperations went more towards destroying cashes and searching for information that could possibly give the military more chances at Elexis since she apparently escaped. But Adrian knew that they still had a chance, he pulled his headset mike close to him and turned the on button, "This is Shephard, I got a transmission with information that Elexis is using the tunnels to escape, Moving to peruse and engage." There was a brief pause before the electronic click and then Adrian heard a quick response form his sergeant that he got separated from, "Roger that, I'll pass on and if you don't find a trail then we'll do a sweep, Make sure that you do not use lethal force, command couldn't emphasize more that they want her alive." Adrian did remember that command continued to emphasize that she needed to be taken alive. But Adrian didn't load his gel rounds, he was staying with bullets and if she didn't surrender then he'd put a round in her leg, it's hard for people to run away with a bullet in their leg, Adrian was just thankful that he had armor on his leg, or else he wouldn't have this prime chance.
He continued to move through corridors, old control rooms, and barely refurnished break rooms. He made sure that no more bullets would be finding their way to him. His leg was already hurting badly, but this was a chance that he couldn't pass up simply for his leg. Adrian knew there would be hell to pay for running on it, but he hadn't received any signals from the team member that found her, and that was a bad sign. Adrian found a metal door labeled stairs and kicked it open before starting down the metal stairs as quickly as possible. Adrian almost tripped as he headed into the lower reaches of the facility. And smooth concrete and drywall gave way to more and more electrical wires, and water pipes that meant that they were going to a lower level. Adrian finally reached the bottom of the stairs and opened the door that was already cracked open slowly and cautiously, not opting to make so much noise since she was more likely to hear her. Not that Adrian thought of it barreling down the stairs might have not been a good idea but it was too late now. As Adrian opened the door he immediately noticed the crumpled form of another soldier on the ground, there was a slowly expanding pool or red below him and he looked like he was unconscious.
Adrian did a quick glance around the room, no signs of any hostiles and no noises that indicated such. Plus is he was wounded then the attacker must have moved on. Adrian rushed out to see if he was alright, doing quick sweeps left and right to make sure that there was no one that was going to ambush him. He dropped his weapon and started to check the body. At a quick glance Adrian could see that he was still had his rifle and he was still breathing, so he was just unconscious. His wounds didn't look too bad, just two holes in the lower chest, They looked rather odd compared to most bullet wounds, too large and a rather odd caliber if any at all. Seconds after Adrian arrived at the downed team mate he heard a noise behind him, a sort of soft "tac tac tac" on the concrete. While they didn't sound like footsteps Adrian whirled around and drew his sidearm, when he turned he found that he was face to face with a nightmare...

Elexis moved quickly, seeing as by the sound of things, another soldier was just about to walk down and she was lucky enough to trick one of them. Elexis wasn't one to continue to tempt fate. She moved out of the immediate sight of the doorway, her eight legs moving quickly and trying, but failing, to not make any noise as the talons met the concrete. But the speed of the steps didn't seem to increase at all by the sound, at least until they got rather close and then there was a pause, was Elexis discovered? Was he waitng for reinforcements? Was he going to nail Elexis in the chest with his gun and end her scheming once and for all? When the steps went to a frantic run Eleixs had a firm grip on her rather large pistol and it only got tighter when the steps on the metal stairway turned into footsteps on the bleak concrete floor. But when the soldier came into view he instead rushed to see his wounded friend, probably unaware that the toxins flowing through him as well as the nasty pistol whip on his head had him out cold. But the soldier quickly checked the pulse of his comrade and Elexis steeped towards him, unable to conceal the noise her legs made. When the soldier turned he was momentarily shocked by her mere appearance, by the looks of it these soldiers didn't exactly know about Elexis's condition. But Elexis didn't give the soldier a chance to raise his gun and did the very same, stabbed into his torso with her fangs, making sure to inject enough venom to incapacitate him but not kill him. She could see that his grip had faded and his gun clattered to the floor and his entire body went limp, chances are he would be seeing a few trippy things before he went out.
Once he was out Elexis nudged his body with one of her legs, then nudged it again to make sure that he was out. She leaned down and looked at the dogtag, "Shephard, Adrian" And as she did, a rather nasty little idea was forming in her sick mind as to what she could do with these two. But the words of someone she noticed shook her from her train of thought, "Ma'am are you injured" Elexis gestured to the two bodies with the hand she was holding her pistol in, "grab these two and follow me." But the servant just protested, "With all due respect is this the best time." But Elexis quickly cut him off, her temper flaring at the impudence of someone she pays, "DID I ASK A QUESTION!" The bodyguard immediately knew that Elexis wouldn't take anymore and if he continued to ask questions instead of obeying then he would most likely end up with the two soldier... either that or shot. And he quickly shouldered his weapon and picked up the bodies and followed her, not saying anything more to anger his boss.
It was only a few moments later that Elexis found what she wanted. It was further down the maintenance tunnels and close to the subway system that would mean her escape. But her morbid fascination made her take this risk. What she was looking for was actually a supply closet that the bodyguard dumped the bodies into, The supply closet was rather large, easily able to fit the two, it was just some space that was used for it's job, to store things that no one would need that much, and it was fortunate that Elexis was able to find one of them. Plus she was able to rationalize it to herself that it would be a nice little delay for any pursuing soldiers, of course in reality she just enjoyed making other's suffer. By the sound of things the military was well behind her so she had some time to to with the two. Elexis has her servant strip the two soldiers, body armor, weapons, everything but the clothing they wore and little else. Elexis knew that Adrian would come too soon, her venom only worked for that long but he would have one hell of a headache. And her prediction was right as he started to stir, but it was already too late, Elexis kissed the first one, he struggled a bit as the parasite forced it's way into his throat. And she looked right into the eyes of Adrian as he clearly saw her. He was still weak and Elexis said a few words as she steppe out of the small room, "Have fun." Elexis had something in her hand, it was Adrian' pistol and she unloaded the clip and slid out most of the bullets from the clip, leaving only three before loading the gun and throwing it into teh room as she closed the door and locked it.
Pretty soon the fun would begin for poor Adrian...

It was like some sort of nightmare was standing right in front of him. There was the Elexis that Adrian knew from the briefings, someone was much younger then Adrian, a girl who was supposed to be shorter then Adrian by the look of her build. The short platinum hair, that didn't reach her neck. There was the face that, by the look of the photos that intelligence had of her, seemed incapable of making a smile or or at least somehow not looking threatening. She was wearing makeup, showing that she was well off when compared to some of the other teenagers that she had seen, but that just went to show where her blood money was being to spent on herself. But besides the womanly parts of her, she was a monster. Adrian wasn't arachnophobic, but Elexis's lower half was a huge spider, and that alone was enough to shake Adrian up. It was a black widow, and chances are the two fangs that were right below her waist had pretty nasty poison. Adrian shook himself out of the temporary shock that her showing up had, but Adrian quickly raised his rifle, ready to put a round in her shoulder to keep her back. But Adrian felt a piercing pain in his waist, and his his grip on his rifle suddenly got weak, and the gun clattered to the ground. Adrian felt something wet on his torso and looked down and saw that there was blood, his blood. Adrian saw that the two fangs were stabbed neatly in his torso, and Adrian looked up into teh now grinning Elexis, Adrian tried to shout for help, speak in his radio, curse, anything. But it was merely a breathless wheeze before his legs gave out from under hm and he fell to the ground. Adrian's vision was graying, and he heard a sick sucking sound as the two fangs came out from his chest. Adrian tried to say something again, but he choked up and blood flew from his mouth. Everything sounded like it was coming from the bottom of a well... and shortly like that everything faded into blackness.
To Adrian, it felt like two continents were colliding inside of his head. Adrian had been to plenty of parties in his day, but this was worse. Adrian woke up and his whole vision was in a haze, he felt a lot lighter, but it wasn't whatever knocked him out, it was the fact that he was obviously not wearing his assault vest, or trauma plates. Adrian's head lazily rolled around to look at him, he was only wearing his ACU short and fatigues, there were two bloodstained holes in his chest, it didn't feel like there was deep tissue damage, and chances are that whore meant to put whatever she had in that ghoulish body of hers into the muscle. "Oh shit, Elexis" Adrian stirred a bit more, and move his hand to his forehead. Adrian heard a strange sound and looking to the side and saw Elexis, she was kissing the marine that Adrian had checked before. She looked at him and when she removed her lips Adrian's eyes weakly widened as he saw a small black tail squirming wildly as it slithered into his mouth. Adrian tried to stir, get himself up to try and do something. But Adrian heard her speak, her voice mocking him for Adrian's inability to actually do something, "Have fun." Adrian tried to pick himself up slakily, and he saw something fall from her hands, it was his pistol. Adrian shambled towards the door to try and follow her only to have it slam before he could get to it, Adrina heard it lock and then reached down and grabbed the pistol, Adrian checked the magazine, only three bullets, and loaded it back in and pulled back the action.
Adrian heard the other marine stir and looked down to see his eyes wide open, he looked panicked about something. Adrian keeled down, wanting to find out what was wrong with him and what the hell was that thing that she put down his throat, seeing as Adrian expected it to kill him. But he seemed alive and better off then he did. He grabbed Adrian's arm and spoke, he seemed very urgent, "Adrian... we need to get you to a medic," Adrian assumed that he meant the two holes in his chest, "The woman... Elexis, I saw Elexis put something down your throat, when she kissed you... I think that she's controlling you." Adrian's eyes went wide as dinner plates, Adrian saw her do that to him, but could that he how she's controlling him. The other marine noticed what was in his hand, and his voice was slow and cautious, "Adrian... put down the gun." But her didn't want to let it go, Elexis had done that to him, Adrian wouldn't be seeing things cause she was controlling him... right? But when Adrian saw the other marine's hand tense around a lead pipe Adrian tried to stop him, but before Adrian could try and restrain him the other marine had smacked him in the leg, the one with the bullet hole in it, and Adrian collapsed to the ground. Adrian fell to the ground and the other marine was immediately on top of Adrian. The marine raised his impromptu weapon, a rage in his eyes and his head mysteriously filled with murderous intent, Adrian felt a knife pressed to his throat, and Adrian grabbed the arm and tried to hold it back, but knew that a mere twitch of the hand and his throat would be cut. Adrian had no choice, but to raise the pistol, and he fired right into the head of his attacker.
Adrian made sure to aim for the neck, the bullet passing through the base of the spine and making sure to end his life as painlessly as possible. The body immediately released any tension, and Adrian threw the body off of him. Taking a deep breath and hoping that he was doing the right thing. Revenge was hot in Adrian's blood, and he wanted to make sure that the monster Elexis payed for this, Adrian held the gun to the luock and fired once, before smashing into the door with his shoulder, to kick it would either make him fall again if he stood on his back leg, or get nowhere at all if he kicked with his bad leg. Adrian rammed it again until the damaged lock finally gave out. Adrian stumbled out and took several steps down the tunnels, knowing that he had to make sure that she payed. Adrian weakly moved down the pathway that the spider thing took, until he heard a voice yell out, "Corperal shephard freeze." Adrian raised his hands and slowly turned around, he saw several more marines, two of them had their rifles pointed at Adrian, and one of them was holding the body of the marine that Adrian just shot. Adrian dropped the pistol and tried to remain very non threatening, "Give me a chance to explain." The two marines walked up to Adrian and they restrained him, Adrian just cooperated, one of the marines was speaking to him, almost the same speech they gave the mutants, "Corperal Shephard, your under military arrest for the murder of Private Summers, there will be a debriefing in which you can explain yourself." Adrian's knew that things were going to get bad from here.
