The premise of The Island is a cruise liner sinks after a bad storm, and the survivors find their way to a deserted island. There they face the dangers of the island; be it poisonous plants, 'deadly' animals, or even their own shipmates.
-----------------
And the story begins...
It was stormy August night, and the captain ordered all of the passengers to their rooms.
'This is your captain speaking..', his gruff voice booming over the intercom.
'We've come into a rough patch, there's going to be some turbulence, so I advise all passengers to stay in their rooms and all ship hands report to your stations. Thank you.'
There was a nervous hush about the liner and the shouts from the men could just barely be heard above the crashing waves. Minutes passed, and the waves became less audible, the mens shouts less frantic, and soon enough the boat swayed gently with the calm current.
'This is the captain once again. We're through the rough patch, and the horizon is now clear, you may feel free to move around the ship once again. Thank you for your cooperation.'
The captain set down the microphone and turned to his first mate,
'We should have seen that coming.', he said in a low voice.
The first mate slowly shook his head, eyes fixed on the radar screen.
'There might be more like that..' he paused.
'Tell the men to double check the life boats; make sure they're secure. And have one of them watch the sea like a hawk, she's worrying me tonight.'
With that the first mate hurried off to obey his captains orders.
