Last year the world witnessed a miracle in the form of a cure called "hope", soon followed by the awakening of a power hungry entity known as the "phoenix". The latter was defeated at the cost of a life while the former was validated by the FDA and made readily available to clinics across the country.
But a year has passed, and while lives have begun to return to normal, darkness is slowly creeping back into the world. Rebirth is leading to a new age in the war between humans and mutants ... and it will all begin with one word: hope.

no joe !: i don't think i did anything, but you can never
be sure with laura. it might have been something along the lines of
my asking her to make a brother or sister for caley ... i thought
it was a good idea, but you know how laura is.
no joe !: you're not much of an uncle if you don't care about
caley, small fry. just for that i'm going to make someone else her
godfather. you just lost your rights.
no joe !: caley might have told me where she lives, and
i might have forgotten. besides, from the sounds of it she's
living better with us than where she was ... i mean, come on,
ice cream for supper? how is that worse than her old home?

with kids, especially when you are not a kid.

to fear for your life on your behalf, or to go over and feel your
head to see if you have a temperature. that sounds like crazy
man talk ... or dead man walking talk. are you feeling suicidal
again? because if you are we're going to need to have a talk.
no joe !: laura is the love of my life. one of these days
she'll see that and agree to sleep with me, and then we'll make
superpowered babies and live happily ever after. it has nothing
to do with being stupid and it's not a hobby.
no joe !: i'm starting to think you don't like caley. what
do you have against a defenseless child? did nobody hug you
when you were a kid? i can change that right now if you want.
no joe !: caley is our ticket into the mansion, unless you
want to waltz right in there and demand wolfman go home with
you, which i think he'll say no to.
no joe !: and it's called adoption, frodo. i can adopt caley
to be my kid. it doesn't have to be a blood relations thing --
adoptions count. don't you read those tabloids i put in the
bathroom? brad pitt and angelina jolie are adopting the whole
world -- why can't i have one kid?

fools mission to pursue wolvie outright like you want to do. the
guy's been awol for years, shorty. you really think just because
he doesn't remember everything from weapon x he'll be unable
to protect himself from us? even i'm not that stupid.

way of saying she loves me more than anyone else. it makes all
sorts of sense if you really think about it.
