Hrm...good question. I personally thought the HP films were rubbish. Sorrys.

Anyway; Shawshank Redemption is up there. Blade. Star Wars. Dusk till Dawn. Pulp Fiction. Boondock Saints. Terminator 2: Judgement Day. Lord of the Rings (as independent films, feel they butchered the books :-/). Desperado. The Long Kill. The Godfather part I.

Not even a tithe, really. I've seen A LOT of films.

My tastes range from sublime to trash.

Holding out for The Village. Then -- The Matrix (only the first one); couple of Kurasawa (Kagemusha, best of all), Monsters Inc., the Tolkien trilogy, Metropolis (the original), and the newer version of Nosferatu (Herzog, with Klaus Kinski). The Haunting. The Sixth Sense. Allegro non Troppo. And this ridiculous thing by Ron Howard called The Paper (Michael Keaton was hilarious in it.) I'm with Athenamay about A Hard Day's Night.
And Princess Mononoke. So cool I can hardly stand it.

Too many good films to choose just one, really.

Master & Commander
Hunt for Red October
Dr. Strangelove
Apocalypse Now
Fargo

Yeah, that's an acceptable 'Top 5' list.

I change my mind all the time about a 'favourite' movie! And as I read everyone's list, I think - oh, that's my favourite too (like The Goonies, Rocky Horror and Spirited Away!). So, I took accio’s lead – these are movies that are actually on my shelf, that I simply love rewatching:

Brigadoon
Dark City
Lord of the Rings Trilogy
Princess Bride
Star Wars
A Fish Called Wanda
Grosse Point Blank
The Big Easy
French Kiss
Big Lebowski
Joe versus the Volcano
