I'm not sure why the absense of Sprout would be a surprise to anyone...I can't even recall any herbology lessons in OotP. I'm sure they were there, but the only important plant in the book was the Mimbulus Mimbletonia, and we don't need Sprout to introduce us to it. As far as the new scriptwriter, I'm excited to see what he'll do.

*does a no-more-Steve-Kloves happy dance* Not that this necessarily means the script is going to be better. I hope he doesn't actively try to make his script like Steve Kloves; that might make it worse. I hope Ron gets some intelligent lines though. That would be great.
For people who have seen Peter Pan, (for which Michael Goldenberg wrote the script), what did you think of the script?

Spoiler alert! Hermione’s a dude, Voldemort is the ghost of Harry’s father who’s real name was Rosebud, and, on the very last page, Harry wakes up in bed with Suzanne Pleshette.

Hehe it was probably her PR person telling her to make it sound like a HUGE mistake was made...
I don't remember much Herbology in OotP either.

I loved Peter Pan! The children didn't come off as idiots (which is what many movies do to children). Plus, with Peter Pan, he'll already have experience with a story of magic and fantasy. Hopefully he writes teenagers as well as he does children. The key toOotP won't be the magic and fantasy but Harry's angst. (That may be one reason that Cuaron should return)

The writing for Peter Pan was really quite good. That writer might work out very well. That little press release about Professor Sprout is a bit silly. She has nothing to do except maybe sit at the staff table and drip soft-boiled egg from her spoon at one point while reading, I believe. And award Harry 20 points to Gryffindor, for handing her some dragon poo. Maybe that scene shouldn't be cut. I'd hate to miss Flitwick giving Harry the ice mice, after all.

| QUOTE (banker @ Nov 17 2004, 08:31 PM) | | I'm a bit perplexed about the statement saying the previous Potter films followed the books to a T. Cuz, um, yeah, I could name quite a few instances where there was some creative license taken... |
Like the last 20 minutes of PoA for example?
