The Dig, open rp

London sends a case that puts a couple of team members on assignment. Since Syd and Malcolm are finishing up plans for the wedding, Nick and Deneille decide to let them stay home while they finish the dig. Packing up the rest of the things they then head home with them.

Nick was packing his bag for the third time making sure everything he needed was inside. He closed the suit case and put it by the door to take downstairs and gathered his laptop he was taking and a few more things and walked downstairs.


syd was alittle bummedabout not being able to go but not as disappointed malcom must have been. She smiled at his protests

Malcolm frowned and went downstairs with the file. "I still don't see why I can't go. I know more about this time period then YOU do." He complained to Nick.



Deneille finished packing her bag, and got a small carry on bag ready, with water, snacks music and her meds. Her head was already starting to pound. She headed downstairs and snickered at Malcolm letting Nick handle it.

Nick looked up and opened his mouth then closed it " i want nothing more then you to come Malcolm, but you have a wedding to plan....so what is more importent to you

Deneille looked at Nick, wondering if she should be offended he'd rather have a boy's night! "Nick, that's low, even for you! We won't be long." She smiled at Malcolm.


Malcolm handed the file to Deneille and made a hmmph sound. "Well, once you get the stuff crated you can bring it back so we can inventory it."

" what!?" he looked at her " well, i would hope his answer would be wedding and making sure sydney actually fits for her dress instead of waiting last minute " he smirked at malcolm " you have to make sure she does not hold it off and ill bring everything back for you to play with"

Malcolm rolled his eyes. "Syd's been on me every DAY abou thtis wedding. I swear, I've never seen so much work go into one day! Well, the car is waiting. You two be careful."


Deneille took the bags out to the car.

Nick patted his arm " just make sure she takes a break today huh" he headed off and gathered things up and headed outside

Malcolm nodded as he watched them leave, then headed off to find Syd.



Deneille sat in the back of the car going over the file. She let the driver know what flight they were going out on.

Nick got in and pouted " i dont see why my car wasnt good enough...." he whined softly



Syd was in one of the empty rooms she used to keep everything in for the wedding. She was looking over some cakes and writing a guest list

Malcolm leaned against the door jamb and watched her. "Do we even KNOW more then 10 people??"


Deneille smiled and patted his hand before quickly pulling away. "Because we'll be in the air at least 13 hours, and so just going there and coming home again would leave your precious car in an airport parking garage for more then a day. Unprotected?"

Nick looked serious " your right ok so what are we looking at anyway" he took the file and looked at it

Syd looked up " yes yes i do i know about 50"She set the stuff down " but wont be more then 15 people probably that will come do you know anyone you want to come"

Malcolm shrugged, "No one you don't already know and probably have on that list."


Deneille sighed and leaned her head back closing her eyes. "Crete. Too far from the colliseum to be a known emperor or anything. So we just need to take the things they've uncovered to check over."

" well we could always save money and elope" she shrugged as she walked closer to him " we would so be married before they got back"


Nick smiled " well then ok this should be a piece of cake then"

Malcolm smiled and put his arms around her waist. "I'll be honest. It doesn't matter to me either way. But I know you've been planning this, been wanting your dream wedding, and besides, Nick and Deneille would be heartbroken to miss it. I can wait a little while longer."


Deneille smiled softly and nodded, "Yeah, shouldn't be a problem. Wake me when we get there."
