Much of the following has been copied from TouhouVN Makeforum board.

1) The story is in first person narrative.

2) Different characters have different difficulty to reach their Good Ends. These will be accessible by (often rare) timed events, obtaining items, and affection points.


3) Bad ends followed by a “Teach Me” session with path relevant character
3a) Bad ends with a teacher character can have a substitute teacher when appropriate.
3b) Keine in human village, Eirin in Eientei, Ran in Boarder Route are some ideas.
3c) "Please punish me, Mistress Sakuya" for SDM Route.

4) Anon was ported over due to LHC at CERN.
4a)Anon is(was) an intern at CERN.

5) Anon can meet and befriend certain guides to lead to certain routes. Wriggle is an example.

6) No one character can guide Anon to all routes.

In order to reduce the work load, we've decided to cut a few characters. Subject to change.

Basically, if the Area is already saturated with characters, or if we can't think of anything good for their route, then they don't get one.

Characters who will appear but not have Routes
-Aki Sisters (Moriya Shrine, may still have H-scene possibilities)
-Daiyousei (Youkai)
-Medicine Melancholy (Youkai)
-Rinnosuke (cry moar)
-Shinki (Alice Route)


Characters who will probably have an H scene options, but not their own Route or Ending. They are just features in someone else's story.

-Chen (Ran Route)

Characters who could have routes later on, but we'll worry about them later.

The energy released by the hadron collision at LHC is of the same type as that which sustains the barrier. The energy resonates with it and is attracted, which leads to the barrier being overloaded and becoming so strong that instead of being semi-permeable in the realm of the living and the dead, it blocks everything in the living world and permits everything in the afterlife. Anon gets 'ported to Gensokyo since he was so close to the reaction, so his body became saturated with the energy and traveled along with it. Disturbance in the barrier causes Reimu to go crazy or something, so her route could involve saving her from herself. Also, infusion of energy gives a reason for Anon to obtain powers.

Aya and Nitori are separate from Moriya Shrine Area
Kanako wouldn't lose Anon and her plot to Aya or Nitori, so they couldn't reasonably be part of MS route. Thus, if Anon has not tripped Hakurei Shrine flags Aya will still ask for an interview, but the Reimu/Sanae conflict will not occur to distract them. The interview goes well and Aya offers to be partners in crime for a bit. Anon accidently breaks Aya's camera later in her route, and they go to Nitori to fix it. Anon repairs the camera with Nitori and gets to know her, then chooses to stay and work more science or fly off for paparazzi work.

Everything else is convenient BS that we can use.

Idea: Light of certain wavelengths work as danmaku, but others don't have that effect. Ultraviolet light, specifically UVC, happens to be part of the danmaku band. Since our world is so saturated with UVC from the sun, it's like our hitboxes are being constantly disabled. An unintended side effect of the Hakurei Barrier is that it filters out UVC. Therefore, this allows residents of Gensokyo to fly/danmaku/etc. Also, could explain why Remi and Flandre can go outside.

Also posted on Wiki, but I just wanted to make sure everyone sees it.

It was brought to my attention last night that 98.7% of the UV light that makes it through the atmosphere is UVA light. After re-reading that article, it makes a lot more sense to have UVA be the critical frequency, since there are no (listed) benefits to having it and our planet is showered in it.

Other than photosynthesis, you mean?

I see no mention of photosynthesis in that article, nor any mention of UVA light in the article on photosynthesis. Furthermore, this report indicates that UVA light inhibits photosynthesis. I don't expect you to read all of it (since I didn't either), but this sentence pretty much sums it up: "UV-A radiation (315-400 nm)
was mostly responsible for photosynthetic inhibition, while UV-B radiation (280-315 nm)
had a lesser effect on this process." I can't infer what effect the complete removal of UVA light would have on plants, but for the purposes of this VN I think it's safe to assume that it would be negligible.
