If you want that pale look again I would suggest not using white though. Its an old goth trick to use the palest (but not white) make-up you can find in your tone. Or stick with pale toned powder like a really light coloured blue or lavender and apply with a big brush (matte toned eyeshadows work great for this).

That's not white, it's a vampire flesh color I got at a costume shop. The flash made it look real white though. Plus my skin is oily so it got shiny by the time these were taken.
I do use white for my black metal corpse paint though.
