TCos Wants to Move!

Want to help TCos get its own forum, complete with image galleries, wiki, articles, info databases, and more? Then we need your help!

So the $100 goal has so far been met-- but I'll be leaving the donation link up until the move because as far as hosting goes, you really can't have enough funds saved up for that sort of thing. Thanks to everyone who contributes!

Thought I'd designate a place for everyone to talk about their experiences yesterday.

---

Well, I went the NY screening almost right after I was let out of class at 11. Got to the theater about an hour and a half later, and freaked out a little bit when the one woman working at the box office didn't know what was going on. Well, I figured that I didn't want to miss this for anything, so I plopped myself down and started to doodle. (I'd packed myself some snacks and lots of things to do for the wait.) Shortly after that, though, I noticed a guy sitting down on the sidewalk on the other side of the door that was right next to me, so I popped my head out and asked if we were waiting for the same thing. Sure enough, he was, so we both sat down in a corner and waited.

Well, as it turned out, he was either good friends with the guy that was in charge of this theater's screening (on behalf of a large NY-area movie screening site), so not only did he manage to get us in without RSVPs, but we got let into the theater over an hour before everyone else, and as a result, got the best seats in the house. I'm still really angry I didn't get to enter the costume contest, but oh well... Jo n' Geoff got lots of attention on my behalf. xD

So after everyone else started filing in, some morning radio show host (apparently very popular over here) was our special guest (lame). He was handing out a bunch of random junk (completely random... New Kids on the Block album? Bargain bin movies?) and shirts for his station. Oh, and a PS2 game. The best part from this was that he got some guy to belt out the TF theme for the game. His voice kept cracking, and in addition to Turok or whatever he won, he got a guide on how to get dates. xD

But wow, the costume portion was the most pitiful thing I'd ever seen. Two of them were dressed up as Prime (one of them was in a halloween store costume with something on his back covered in tin foil and he had a toy gun, and the other was the worst cardboard box costume I'd ever seen... he didn't even have anything covering his head or forearms), and the third guy had a decepticon sweater with sunglasses, and claimed that he was Barricade's holoform. (FFFFF-)

Anyways, I think they all got toys or something, and also got entered into the LA Premier contest.

Other than that, the trailer was fuggin AMAZING, and the movie was damn enjoyable the 372nd time around as well. xD

So after getting out of class at 2 I ran back to my apartment and grabbed Arcee then went and made sure my tires were all groovy (the highway to Dallas is scary bad). Then I picked up Illo and we were on the highway to Dallas by 3pm. And I'm not saying that I was speeding or anything but that 2 hour drive ended up being an hour and forty five minutes even with getting a bit turned around. We got to the theater and found there was already a bit of a line but I asked one of the ladies running the show if there would be enough seats and she estimated that only 2/3 of the seats would be taken already. Then I asked her about the costume contest and she looked at me (I was in civvies) and said that the judges would all be there around 6. So I chilled in line with Illo until a little before 6 then got into Arcee and found I can in fact get into her on my own (Illo was holding our spot in line).

And you know wearing Arcee in a normal setting is kind of weird, though the hosts were quite delighted. I was the only entry too. The radio sponser gave me an Armitage lunchbox set and then I went to find my seat, though I missed the guy with tickets for the raffle so I didn't get a chance to win any of the Transformers stuff they were giving out. It was glorious to see the movie in a theater. And the trailer was good too, we were near spazzing the whole way back to farm country. Now I have to find a video camera for the semifinals of the contest though...
