T-AI: Transformers: Robots in Disguise

GENERAL:

Since I'm attending an "anime"con at the end of the month, I wanted to cosplay something more anime like. Since Robots in Disguise is technically an anime.... it works. Plus, T-AI is a rare cosplay at an anime con or a Transformers convention. And I plan to wear her at TFCon too.

Here are some materials I bought for the costume today:



What I'm using:

dark red pvc/pleather
white pvc/pleather
burgundy gabardine
burgundy lining

What I need to purchase yet:

- a headband for her headpiece/hat
- at least 6-8 large, orange buttons
- yellow material for the pouch
- four buttons for the jacket
- fimo to make the triangle button
- white strap across her chest

I purchased the tights tonight on welovecolors.com along with the pattern on ebay. Both should arrive before next week. I also purchased shoes that I will have to paint and add onto the bootcovers to. I'm still figuring this one out. This is why it's not posted yet.

HAT/HEADPIECE:

The jacket is 90% done. I still have to make her strap-thing that goes from button to button over her chest. I also may sew/velcro down her straps some how so they don't move while I walk. But the jacket is almost done!

SKIRT:



Skirt is complete. Simple, easy project.

DRESS SHIRT:



Purchased on ebay. It's much harder to find a solid, orange dress shirt then you think it is....

TIE:



Since I already have a random collection of solid color ties in my cosplay bin; this was probably the easiest object to come by for T-AI.

Nice choice. They really do seem to match the show colors.

That's one thing I'm very anal about when it comes to actual cosplaying. I actually sit there in Joanns to go up and down the isles with a reference picture to match up fabric to the reference.

Updated with more progress pics! I may or may not post more before my convention, which is this coming Friday! Expect some though within the next two weeks~!

T-AI is on hold currently. I have to figure out a better way to make her hat/headpiece.
