I agree! It's a great concept but needs some aesthetic tweaks!

You could fix the "high suspension" (XD) problem by making the car mode bigger, so it'll have to be your own mold, likely. (Or put a kid in this size mold)

Then you can stretch out more and therefore get closer to then ground. But then you'd need a skateboard on your stomach too in addition to your lower legs...hmm. I guess you won't as long as you work out the right muscles! biggrin.gif

That's an awesome idea for "working" transformable stuff though. It's already giving me ideas for other designs...

edit: Fixed a typo tongue.gif

Thoughts...

Wheels on the stomach could be disguised in robot mode. Alternatively, have the back of the costume connected to a wraparound framework which bridges between the back and front of the car, so the wearer is effectively suspended under the car interior roof.

One thing I can think of - the cannon arm is a really brilliant idea, but it might work even better in robot mode if a couple of barrels could be pushed forward out of the chrome wheel plate - even if only a few inches. It'd reinforce the "gatling gun" look and when retracted wouldn't appear any different from a normal wheel.

For bonus points, rig the set of barrels so that they're springloaded to snap back into the wheel/axle area, then have them get extended and 'locked' by straightening the elbow when transforming from car to robot. Place the (disguised) unlock catch on the cannon where it can be flipped by the wearer's right arm when crossing arms for the transformation. This will allow the axle to effectively 'automorph' into cannon mode when transforming.

It could also be pretty cool to rig the chest unit to springload into car mode, and be pulled down and 'locked' into robot mode by having the right shoulder (or both shoulders) move outwards. A cabled trigger situated in the arm cannon (near the cannon barrel trigger) would allow both the chest and cannon to automorph to car mode by the wearer crossing their arms under the chest and flicking the triggers.

Other things which could also be controlled from concealed buttons on the axle - headlights and indicators.

Oh, it's not perfect, sure, but the car shell wasn't half bad, I liked the internal sliding frame which held the hood up in car mode, and can't blame someone for trying out a new approach.

If they'd used a monster truck as the shell, it could have been even more impressive.

As it stands, it's an intriguing prototype which shows that the main gimmick does what it's supposed to do.

If I had the time to try this out for myself, my 15% discount at work would come in very handy for those power wheels cars tongue.gif I'd rather just experiment with the drive train than being a 'shell-former' though.
