| QUOTE (MiraiBaby @ Jan 23 2012, 10:36 PM) | | Of course, now I am utterly TRAPPED on how to make the lower arms/elbow joint. I will lose mobility if I make it that round joint, I'm sure. Someone (ANYONE) wanna help a girl out and suggest how I go about this part of the rig ....? |
You mean the joint in your pic here? I don't see why you'd loose mobility, if you cut a subsection out of said join for your arm to go through - it should rotate with your lower arm, assuming it's not attached/restricted by the upper arm.... Am I understanding that right? :X

UPDATED!WELL DAMN. For those of you following Breakdown's Facebook Album, you'll know immediately when I update and how I update (Friend me -- that way you can totally keep up lol). I've managed to get a ton of foam core and I love this stuff to bits and pieces. SO light. THANKS, PILOT AND NATSUME FOR THE AWESOME BUILDING TIPS. Currently, I am waiting on my Tax Return to clear so I can buy up the fabric I need for Breakdown. I'm getting nervous because I know I need to buy the fabric soon to give it time to arrive. Am also nervous because one of the grey colors I wanna use for Breakdown is .... well, out of stock. I hope it comes back soon. Dx

UPDATED!WELL NOW. Uhm .... Yeah. I got my fabric in. Can you tell? :] I've got problems here and there with how things are built out, but I'm looking to remedy my issues soon enough. The hard part about a lot of my building and such is that some of these problems I flat out can't iron out until after I'm almost done with all the building. It frustrates me. Buh.

It's always good keep the mind occupied on Cosplay endeavors, Pilot. I would just go with elastic around my wrist, but not only does that not hold the top of the arm where it should (it's crucial it's in the right place so I can get bend from the elbow), but also may cause the shoulder to slide its way backwards, resulting in my having a backwards joint. I may employ the use of Velcro, but I didn't take that into account while building the shoulder, and thus am not prepared or equipped to glue anything to the shoulder fabric.... :/

UPDATED!WELL THEN. *prods at that magical "100%" number* He's not /quite/ finished, but I am very close to being so. Like, close enough to wear him to BotCon just as he is. If I don't get a chance to finish this stuff by then, I won't be too heartbroken. One of the details I'm hemming and hawwing over is his abdomen. There IS space to build it on this rig, if I so chose, but am not yet positive if the rig absolutely NEEDS it or not. BUT I AM DONE. LIKE, FOR SERIOUS. Total Time Spent: 3 months, 5 days | 96 Days Total Cost: 341.55 + .09/tax = 372.29 Total Pieces/Panels: 526 Feet: 22/ea Legs: 49/ea Thighs: 10/ea Cod: 33 Torso: 82 Shoulders: 32/ea Arms: 35/ea Helmet: 69 Hands: 23/eaIn parting. THAT'S A LOTTA ROBOT. (will update counts as I build extra pieces) Bought this awesome shirt. Gonna wear it to BotCon. 8D

UPDATED!Tadaa~ There's more images located here. Aside from updating the work logs for Breakdown's pirate hat or hammer (which I don't think I'll have time for before BotCon), this'll be my very last update. PHEW.
