I wore this to BotCon 2012.
Not my best work, but I was working on a shoestring budget and had to get most of my supplies at Marden's and Goodwill.
If you've seen my G1 Soundwave hoodie, you probably know that the pants were recycled from that outfit, as were the shades...originally, I'd coated them in red sharpie, that came off with a little acetone, and I redid them in yellow. I tried watering down acrylic paint and then painting them...the surface was too slick, though, and it all pooled away. The sharpie worked beautifully (although you need to be extra careful when storing them, because it has a habit of rubbing off...so I don't advise wrapping them in your white pants when transporting them. /headdesk)
The gloves and the headband both came from Claire's, and the shirt was from Marden's, it was a little stained, but I sent it to my mother, who ran it through the laundry, according to her, "about six thousand times before all those fraggin' stains came out". So, I mean, nothing wrong with gently used clothing, as long as you don't mind washing it until it's threadbare. XD After that, I used the leftover fabric from Sentinel Prime's elite guard patch to make the decepticon patch, and everything else was leftover from the Soundwave hoodie. I made the panel the same way, the headlights were just simple cutouts, and the bumper sticker was another cutout drawn on with sharpie. All in all, not my best work, I wish I'd just worn my hoodie, but you know how us northerners fare in the heat. We burst into flames. >.>
I also made Sentinel Prime's costume, it was simple enough...the suit coat was from Goodwill, the patch made from two different shirts, and the gloves were a pair of fishnets that I cut apart.
