Welcome to TCos, the internet's most comprehensive resource for everything about robot cosplay. We are a dedicated community focused on building the best costumes ever to grace the fandom. We dig helping, we dig learning, but most of all, we dig giant robots!

(But mostly, it's a party in here.)

TCos Wants to Move!

Want to help TCos get its own forum, complete with image galleries, wiki, articles, info databases, and more? Then we need your help!

So the $100 goal has so far been met-- but I'll be leaving the donation link up until the move because as far as hosting goes, you really can't have enough funds saved up for that sort of thing. Thanks to everyone who contributes!

Whai hallo :D
Oddi, Crazed Lunatic at your service. :3

A bit about me: I'm a little derpy, a little weird, really forgetful and sometimes a bit thickheaded. I have this habit of getting obsessed with really random stuff, for example:
    Code Lyoko
    Firefly/Serenity
    Buffy the Vampire Slayer
    Tanked
    Warriors (by Erin Hunter)
about 50 other things I've probably forgotten
Right now, my main obsessions are Doctor Who and Transformers Prime (as well as the movies. I guess you could say I'm graphically impaired when it comes to G1 and the older shows, it's harder for me to get into them until absolutely necessary). I love writing, drawing and all manner of other things and now I'm hoping to get into cosplay (though I have yet to take initiative on that, I'm hoping this forum will give me a kick to the bottom in creating a cosplay costume x3). Also, I'm sometimes lazy in my writing (sometimes I use a variety of chatspeak, but nothing like 'u', 'r' and whatnot) and tend to abuse text emoticons. Beware.
My weirdness is occasionally because of stress & anxiety problems, which have caused some depression (which I am trying to find the right medications for, so I might be a little screwy until I find one that works well). These tend to get worse when I'm tired. You'll probably know when I'm tired.
I try really hard to be friendly and approachable despite other issues I may have, so yup. :3 Looking forward to making friends here!

Hello!

Just a quick suggestion from one newbie cosplayer to another; start off easy, and give yourself ample amounts of time. Trust me, it'll save both your sanity and make sleeping easier.

Fff, hiya :3

@Natsumeru: Definitely TFP Arcee, and then I'll probably convince my friend who is taller (I refer to her on the internet as Tall Friend, or Squishy) to be Bumblebee. I have mental images of us chillin' at the Wal-Mart. xD

@Medalis: Hai c: Thanks for the tip. :3 I'll have to find some way to find time between school, tumblr and whatever else it is I do, but that doesn't sound too hard.

Why are you into, like, everything I am?

Anyway, welcome aboard! As Medalis has said, starting of simple is very much so the easiest place to work on getting your feet under you.

G1 designs are insanely boxy and easy to do if you can get your hands on a few different sizes of cardboard boxes. Animated are INSANELY fun because there usually aren't many pieces to an Animated character's armor, as most are also very form-fitting and could likely just use a body suit.

However, if you're in the mood for a challenge, pic a bot and jump on it! I've heard that Beast Wars characters are also relatively simple, as they have less armor to deal with as well.
