TCos Wants to Move!

Want to help TCos get its own forum, complete with image galleries, wiki, articles, info databases, and more? Then we need your help!

So the $100 goal has so far been met-- but I'll be leaving the donation link up until the move because as far as hosting goes, you really can't have enough funds saved up for that sort of thing. Thanks to everyone who contributes!

Holy catz, it's been a long time since I've been here. The ladies are still lookin' fine as ever though ;D
This time 'round, I'm not tacklin' another reiteration of Megaton, I'm makin' an Iron Man suit. Out of Dr Pepper cans. Iron Man Dr Pepper cans.
I was inspired by a radio ad for the drink and Avengers movie.

"Dr Pepper ad comes on the radio. Two dudes are waiting to see the Avengers movie. First dude is all like "Hey, I'm here in my authentic Iron Man costume, I thought you were gonna be Thor?"
Second dude is like "I am, see? I've got my Thor Dr. Pepper can."
"Dude, do you even know what a costume is?"
Hot chick walks by "Nice Thor costume ;D"
First dude is ticked. He continues to be ignored. Finally Thor guy is like, "Here, have an Iron Man." and hands the first dude an Iron Man Dr Pepper.
"Oooh, nice Iron Man" says another hot chick "Do you have an extra can?"
First dude then says "Alright, you know what? I'm out." *PTCHOOOOO*
I was kinda irked by this ad, as I'm the kinda guy who goes to movies in quality costume.
But then I realized. Thor dude was right. He /was/ holding his costume. And I now have one too, if I can make it in time.
Dr. Pepper: is it on you?"

Anyhow, I have the helmet almost done, and if I can find time to I'll do the rest. If not, then this is in the wrong area of the forum.
Main reason I might not finish is 'cause there's a possibility I might be rebuilding my Megatron rig soon, and that'd take most of my summer free time. Regardless, pics below.

I like this whole concept of making Iron Man out of Dr. Pepper cans. Recycling at its finest!

That's even more awesome than the guy I saw at Acen one year who made his Edward Elric automail out of Sapporo cans.

Natsume: nah, I'd like to think I'm not too shabby at working with aluminum.
Firebird: I'll give you points for effort : p

Well folks, the movie was great. Beyond great. It was best movie.
And my helm turned out to be not so bad.

I'd actually love to get this whole rig done. Should the opportunity arise, know that I'll be giving it my best. See y'all some time later.

So, I'm updating. Nothing major, no finished codpieces or anything, just hope for finished codpieces. Got myself a nice big stock of Iron Man Dr. P.

Ah hah, "some_assembly_required.jpg". I am so clever.

Anyhow, perhaps I will pick this up sooner rather than later. I've got a backlog of pony plush commissions stretching into November, a Megs rig to build 'fore September, and more recently, a Sociology final due in... six hours? (I'm kinda taking a break on that right now 'cause that pic and file name pun were just itchin' to get posted.) So what harm would just one more project really do, srsly?

Besides, Iron Man is frickin' sweet, and I found a great abandoned railroad depot that'd make a great photoshoot location. At least I /think/ it's abandoned. There hasn't been a train through there in like a year, and rust is more abundant than dirt.

I'll update whenever I feel like it- I mean, as progress progresses.

Well, I'm gonna call this project dead. With my studyin', plushing, and work on my Megs rig, I don't have time to maintain even the helm, much less an entire rig. I might try to revive it later, but this is what happens when I leave the helm alone for a few weeks.

The foil tape just pops clean loose. I don't think hot glue will hold secure on smooth aluminum, so that option's pretty much absent. I might try later, I dunno.

So, thanks for lookin' here, but there ain't much more to see. Odds are, this is the end 'o the line for my Dr. Peppiron Man hijinks.
