Housing and Quartering

General hotel/place to stay discussion goes here.

Fortunately, I'm pretty set as far as that goes, so I'll stick around to help people looking for places to stay if they're out of town.

I have a hotel room and I'm looking for a couple of people to stay with. I've reserved a king size room for Wed the 27th through June 1st. As long as you can pay part of the room fee for the nights you stay, you're more than welcome to crash with me.

I was looking to stay somewhere for free, but I'd be willing to help pay for some of it.

I'll sleep on the floor if I have to. XD

Okay, hopefully one or two more people will be able to stay with us and that'll bring things down even further. Ideally, I'd like to go halfsies, but I'm sure we can work something out.

Does anyone know of any cheap rooms near by? Or, mind if a 42 year old man crashes with them (I will pay my share...)

Depends on which nights you're staying. They could only get me the convention rate for two nights, and those are $139. I'm assuming that's Friday and Saturday night. The other nights (Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday) are $189 a night.

If you know of anyone you'd like to invite, feel free. As long as they chip in, I'm cool with anyone.

Fair enough. If I get my Jazz costume done I might be able to invite my spotter brother as well, but whether he'll be able to pay or not himself is another story...

Well, I got a room at the Hilton, for now. Unless I can modify it, I won't go. I mean, I can't afford $1,000 for this.

Not unless I get someone to help split the cost. But, I am only gong for Thurs-Fri-Sat. And then up to Santa Barbara and overnight with my cousin...

Well, last year she got kicked out of BotCon for "showing too much skin". They confiscated her badge because she was too skimpy and the mods apparently didn't like that. She's still mad at them for it...

Oh, what was the total cost of the hotel for the whole time? I believe I'm gonna be staying up there the whole time you have the room, just to get situated and all.

Why don't you just stay with PyroWolf and I? Extra people in our hotel means less of a cost.

Well, three nights are $189, two nights are $139. When I get there, I'm supposed to ask if they have any more openings in the convention block to try to get another night or two at the $139 prics. So for the moment, the whole price is about $850 give or take a couple bucks. Check in is Wednesday morning, check out is Monday morning. That makes it easier all around for my own traveling purposes. Plus it leaves me Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning for a little sight seeing.

I just got banned from the masquerade at a local con, for harassing someone. But, they banned me for like second and third hand accounts without getting my story on the situation.

I feel for her, and I've been hearing horror stories about people being banned for even smaller infractions.

It depends on Pyro, you'd have to run it by her since it's her hotel room. I'm sure she won't mind, and I certainly don't. Less money to spend on the hotel room, then.

I understand about banning. I've never been banned myself, but I know that Artoni only got told once and that was to confiscate her badge.

I haven't, actually, asked anywhere else simply because I don't want to have someone I've never even talked to before be like, hey, let me stay with you. I feel pretty comfortable with ya'll here, which is why I opened up for anyone else. But by all means, if you have people that you know would like to come, ask them to stay. Just let me know so I can have a general idea myself.

Other friends are a good thing; I'm trying to get one of my friends to go, but, since he doesn't have a job, I dunno if it's gonna happen by then. :c

I know about time off; luckily, I've asked for it off so I should have no problem as long as I work my ass off up until that point.

Well, I just lost one job due to the economy... Which means I can't go...

Unless I get a job that pays double what I am currently made with both jobs.

Me too. But as it is, I am having to redo Star Saber's legs, so I am not sure if I could have finished in time.

Plus, I would have had to rent a car. And with my finances now...

I'm hoping to pust some things up in the artshow. But, you have to pre-reg to do it, and I'm not sure about that.

Me too. I'm working hard to get some comic projects done, and some figurines too to sell on my website.

I was going to send some artwork down, but according to their rules, you have to be a member, and they don't any a thing for non-attending memebers who don't want the toys... You gotta pay full price.
