Well this is my first costume ever so forgive me if this post is a little disorganized.
basically I’m working in conjunction with a seamstress (her names Michelle) on this project. I build the pieces and rig the electronics she does the

sewing and wrapping of the pieces I create. Though I’ve had to work with her a lot to describe what I'm trying to accomplish...

anyways i prefer to take lots of pics and stuff and let those be my descriptions.

YAAAY It has been compleeted! biggrin.gif

Update 2:

OK... all i gotta say is HELL YEAAASS!

This made me so excited! The arms are on and fit! and then i sliped the feet on to test it out and omg yess! the only shot i couldnt get... for modesty

sake, is the back which lacks a invisizipper still... the pieces left to go on it are the gray face mask that will cover everything but my eyes and the

sexxxy arows just above the pelvic... seriously why does Jazz have those... we all get a good laugh at the implications of those RED arows down there

but yea.... awesome none the less... XP

Update 1:

heres a buncha my pics for the legs and how i made em and all that jazz ....

<.< ... >.> pun intended... *_~

they arent compleetely finished yet as far as the "toes" go.. gotta refine and sculped them tommorow after the harder foam glues to the softer foam. happy.gif

i used harder tougher foam on the bottom of the feet to add height and to provide for protection and durability when walking.

as far as the legs mobility wise... i have great flexability in them! i feel like i could run in them once they are finished... ok i might be exadgerating that a

tad haha ide have to lift my leags up in a trot to do that becasue of the extera length on the toes but otherwise they are supper comfortable since i

carved the inside to fit specificaly for the shape of my own leg. they are also realy easy to get on and off hooray! biggrin.gif also all the pics of me wearing them

is before they were refined... they are way to wide at the top at that point, i narrowed the top and sides so they are at an angle and flow better into the

knee.

Update 2:

Its that time again! i got a few more updates on the legs i thought i go back and kinda explain my crazy ways on how im doing this... one thing i

learned from observing other cosplayers is that videos are realy helpful for peeps. so here ya go, if anyones ever interested in how to make a costume

with this type of foam.(which im still trying to find out for those who asked happy.gif;;; ) at least feet wise mostly in these vids ^^;

Update 1:

Ok so finaly got work done on the arms and hands! for a while i was at a delema on how to do the hands but i think i found the solution!

i went to HomeDepot... again... originaly looking for some way to create the visor. but i ended up finding some blue rubber gloves there that will be

perfect to make my hand look cartoony and way bigger then it actualy is just going to stuff it with some batting to keep the dimensions of it. now as

you know Jazz's hands are not blue... hehe well i have two methods to my madness that will make the plastic gloved hand idea work.

the first method is this... i bought some plastic adhering spraypaint that is suposed to open the pors of the plastic and truly bond with it. i got this in

White that also dries shiney so that it will match the rest of my PVC vinyl. this will be the easiest method if it works. i will be spraying them later

tonight. it takes about 24 hrs before it dries enough that you can handle them and 7 days to become compleetely chip proof. i may spray a few layers

just to be sure its compleetely covered.

the second method will be for Michele to cover the pieces with PVC wich she said she could do as a backup.

http://www.majhost.com/gallery/Laserbot/Costume/dsc03745.jpg

http://www.majhost.com/gallery/Laserbot/Costume/dsc03742.jpg

http://www.majhost.com/gallery/Laserbot/Costume/dsc03744.jpg

anyways i also set to work on creating the arms and nunchucks. i had to start work on the prop this early becasue in essance its part of him as a

character and to get the prop measurments and such i had to measure the pockets on the arms so that the nunchuchs will be stored to fit the foam

weapon. basicaly they go hand in hand. ;P (pun intended)

http://www.majhost.com/gallery/Laserbot/Costume/dsc03756.jpg

http://www.majhost.com/gallery/Laserbot/Costume/dsc03835.jpg

http://www.majhost.com/gallery/Laserbot/Costume/dsc03833.jpg

http://www.majhost.com/gallery/Laserbot/Costume/dsc03834.jpg

http://www.majhost.com/gallery/Laserbot/Costume/dsc03837.jpg

Update: 2

So the hands have been spraypainted... dono if this is gana work yet... they need time to dry and see if they will stop being all sticky like ack!

Update 1:

Alrightys! welp these were painfuly easy to make... measured the voicechanger...glued two pieces of foam together... sculpted it down wala one

compleet foam pocket and one that stores the voicechanger. also don worry its plenty loud you will be able to hear it even tho its located on my hip i

tested it.

(did i mention i love gadgets ^^)

http://www.majhost.com/gallery/Laserbot/Costume/dsc03725.jpg

http://www.majhost.com/gallery/Laserbot/Costume/dsc03726.jpg

http://www.majhost.com/gallery/Laserbot/Costume/dsc03727.jpg

Update 2:

Ok change of plans everyone! i went back and hollowed out the other pocket so it is exactly like the other. the reason is ive changed the voice changer

location. it will now be located in a pocket just under my chest. lotta stuffs gana be on my chest piece, kinda like my central hub. anyways i talked to

Michele and she said she could make a pocket easily for me in that region that is hidden under there so no more foam carving thank god! also its better

for my voice to come from there anyways...

so now i get to use the pockets as a place to store my money, cell phone, and camera car keys you name it! of course with thsoe fat fingered gloves

all i can manage to get out is my camera but Josh (my lovely fiancee whos planning on going as link) will be there to asist me and i can always take

the gloves off if i need to wink.gif

Update 1:

Alrightsys so the head practicaly killed me this week! gosh i still dono if its gana look alright with the rest of the costume because the other pieces are

at Micheles place getting wraped... the pics and vids will explain more in detail how i made the stuff... i kinda think the heads big but everyone else

says it looks fine... its the long face or something but meh i dono... maybie it needs to be that big to work with the rest of the body. i have no clue if

anyone else has felt this way about their cosplay heads in the past but let me know if this feelings normal!? this is after all my first time doing this... ^^;;

http://www.majhost.com/gallery/Laserbot/Costume/dsc03858.jpg

http://www.majhost.com/gallery/Laserbot/Costume/dsc03907.jpg

http://www.majhost.com/gallery/Laserbot/Costume/dsc03918.jpg

Movie:

Head 1

Head 2

Head 3

Update 2:

Alrightys! i ended up reaaaly redoing the head alot as far as how i wear it! as i originaly feared the chin was way to long to fit on with the rest of the

costume... i ended up also having no neck...

so what we decided to do was instead of reamaking the entire piece we used what i had and made it position higher up on my face so now my nose

sticks into where the teeth will cover it and my jaw lines up with the Jazz heads chin. im thinking this will be better too for talking and also so i can get

a sip of water here and there like make a little opening outta the fapric for my mouth so i can sip outta a straw or something.

im realy pleased with the fact now i can do some cool efects with the optics and the visor! im able to store all the bareries and switches inside outta

sight in the area that had been hollowed out originaly for my head. so i may have had to change my strategy but at least the work i did before didnt go

to waste!

anyways without further delay heres the combined vids and some pics! (

the pics may be a little blurry..)

That's looking pretty awesome so far. Just out of curiosity do you happen to know the compression rating of your foam, how much you paid for it, where you got it, etc.? I've been trying to find a good cheap foam supplier for a while now, so any help is appreciated.

well originaly they were chemical proof gloves (we just discovered... duh course they wount be spraypaintable!! chemical Proof DUHHH!! lol) they were more heavier denser rubber but not i went and bought some thiner half rubery half black fabrick will little advertising marks on them so were gana use those to wrap the white vinyl around and then stuff them a little with Batting to give them a puffier look. the blacks nice specialy since if it shows it works perfectly with the outline to Jazz hand conecting to his arm. smile.gif

Update timme again! head and Legs

the HEAD this time im done with it! as far as sculpting and electrical! whoohooo!! gosh if anyone asks me what was the hardest piece to make its the head hands down even harder then he feet were...

i think one of the reasons the heads so hard is becasue of the fact i cannot judge in on my own body i have to try and use mirros or rely on the judgment of my parrents or michelle. anyways after alot of fretting and working i managed to get it to look how i want it.

ther are now eye holes in the cheeks but not to worry there will be a spandex material stretched over the face that i can see through. its a dif material then the PVC vinyl. its probably gana be glued on too using supper 77 and stuff is what Michelle is saying...

i have it all taped together in the vids and stuff but its going to be removed when its wraped. probably use gause to strengthen it as well since i had to carve it prety thin in some areas.

let me know what ya all thing bout the eyes too! i hope they don look to creepy ^^;;; they are ment to be fun!
