Welcome to TCos, the internet's most comprehensive resource for everything about robot cosplay. We are a dedicated community focused on building the best costumes ever to grace the fandom. We dig helping, we dig learning, but most of all, we dig giant robots!

(But mostly, it's a party in here.)

TCos Wants to Move!

Want to help TCos get its own forum, complete with image galleries, wiki, articles, info databases, and more? Then we need your help!

So the $100 goal has so far been met-- but I'll be leaving the donation link up until the move because as far as hosting goes, you really can't have enough funds saved up for that sort of thing. Thanks to everyone who contributes!

Ok, so I don't make costumes but I do admire all of the hard work and awesome executions I've seen from these board members. Hi, I'm Chris, TFcon's Operations Manager and I thought I'd make this post to invite some of the best of the best costumers out there to make their way to TFcon 2010 with your costumes. Since we has such demand for a summer show, we've been able to give our attendees what they asked for, TFcon is going to be July 17-18th at Toronto's Doubletree International Plaza Hotel.

Now we just announced our show dates last week but I figured I'd let everyone here first hand that we're constantly wanting to see more costumes at TFcon and this year we had our first costume contest with prizes from Canada's own Alex Milne. Every year our show gets bigger and better and I know your costumes help make that possible. Since it went so well last year we will be having our costume contest again on Saturday for TFcon 2010. Prizes have yet to be determined but I have a feeling there will be more offered for those top notch costumes wink.gif . If you have any questions feel free to ask me here and I'll answer them as best I can or even e-mail me at chris@tfcon.ca.

Thanks, hope you see you there!

PS: Here's who won our last contest at TFcon 2009

Hey there Chris! And wow... that's pretty awesome that you signed up to personally invite us all to the con. I'm honored!

I know that we do have several Canadian members, and that would be great if they could make it next year! I know I'd love to, but unfortunately Toronto is a bit far away from my corner of the continent.

Though let me say that I am super proud of Talon4ce and Artoni for entering their awesome costumes and winning first and second place... they do a fantastic job of representing what we're all about, as a cosplaying community and as fandom.

Cheers, and I hope TFcon is a blast next year!

Hey, Chris! Man .... that really does lok like it was a blast. If TFcon wasn't during the Comic-Con time, I'd totally head up there. Sadly, though, Comic-Con takes its toll over anything else I'm doing, and I only have enough money for one 'con each season.

I applaud the winners -- they all look great! smile.gif

I really wish I could grab my G1 Soundwave and go there, I'm even in the US at that time, but I don't think I have the money to fly via toronto and also go to comic-con too. I'll look at it, but probably wont make it sadly sad.gif But really thanks for the invite! biggrin.gif

Well, like I said, from what I've seen your crew is the best when it comes to Transformers costumes so I wanted to make sure you were all properly invited wink.gif. I realize this year the show may be a tad close to SDCC but this may not be the case every year, so keep this invite in mind, lol. Can't wait to see what those several Canadian members got in store though.

Too bad, looking at those Soundwave pictures of your costume, it really is impressive. If you find a way to make it I know a bunch of Soundwave fans that will flip laugh.gif

So I take it most people here are from southern California? Alright he's a Canadian secret since a direct flight may be expensive.

When we went to Botcon last year we drove to Buffalo and flew within the country so what would probably be the cheapest option for all of you would be to fly from LA to Buffalo and then group up, and rent a van to carpool north. Once you cross that boarder it ain't that far from Buffalo and you'll probably save some money in the long run.

Course if you do fly directly into Pearson international (Toronto's airport) there is a free shuttle bus that takes you to the hotel so there's a bonus there.

Grr, I'd totally be all over this if it wasn't the weekend just before Comic-Con ..... not to mention that four of my friends are coming in from out of town on the 18th to stay with me for two weeks. I gotta be down here to be a taxi cab to them.

Aah well, I'm sure y'all're gonna have fun, and I look forward to seeing pictures. smile.gif

Bah well, what can you do? I was thinking of givin SDCC a whirl this year. I'll just have to see how much I'm willing to blow in the TFcon dealer room tongue.gif

As for pictures I'm sure there will be plenty pictures to come...there always is...I probably won't be taking any though as I'm generally running around the entire show making sure everything is on track and taken care of laugh.gif. This year mostly all I could remember were the evenings as the day time was a big ol' blur. But if you want to see some of the other costumes they can be seen in this gallery taken by TFW's Optimus Scourge

Dude, I'd so dig to see you again! Though, you'd better get your one-day passes as soon as they go on-sale [mid-December] because I can almost guarantee they won't last very long.

No matter how much running around and "caring for others" I do during a con', I never fail to take pictures. *is such a camera slagger*

Looks like they've released details for the costume contest for this year's TFcon:

From http://www.tfcon.ca

"TFcon Costume Contest

This year sees the return of the TFcon costume contest. Come to the show dressed as a Transformer or Transformers character and be prepared to be showcased for the judges and an audience of attendees. Entrants are asked to meet in the scheduled panel room at 1:15 pm on Saturday for the competition.

Sunday come dressed in your favorite 80s themed costume for a second costume contest. Once again meet in the scheduled panel room at 1:15 Sunday for the competition.
http://www.tfcon.ca/contests.php"

So there's TWO contests at this year's show. Probably will work like last years, given what's been announced so far. Given how the thread has been going, doesn't look like that helps all the people in Ca, though. Still, maybe someone here can make it, as there's a ton of fantastic work on the site.

They've also started making announcements about guests, exclusives, etc. on the site.
