After working thirty-six hours in a row, good friend Detective Kaden Merrick dragged CSI Elizabeth Tucker back to her house to get some sleep and called a cab, leaving her dark blue '88 Corvette Coupe in the driveway and Liz supposedly safely in her home to rest.
Although, the next day when Liz doesn't report in to work, crime lab supervisor Gil Grissom and Liz’s ex-boyfriend and fellow CSI, Greg Sanders start to grow concerned. Grissom decides to send a couple police officers by her house and make sure that Liz is okay.
After the police officers drop by her house to check it out, they find her front door left ajar, her Corvette scratched and her missing. Her dog, ‘Maggie’, is found asleep in the backyard, seemingly unscathed.
