The rules. Every sites got a set, this one's no different. Make sure you keep an eye out for the phrase.

Registering and Application
    01. When registering, please use your character’s first and last name. (ie: Tyler Durden). Do not use your own name/alias unless I’ve made you an admin.

    02. This is a canon and original board. We love original's but we also don't want 8 originals and only 2 canons. We also don't want 50 elites and only 4 undiscovered. Please try to keep the ratios at a half way decent number. If the amount of one section is over whelmingly large, no applications for that group will be accepted until more characters for the other groups are accepted. Which brings me to the guys and girls. Every board has some sort of boom of girl characters and a handful of males. Try to keep the guy to girl ratio 1:2 or 1:3.

    03. Multiple accounts are great! If you have more than one character; you need to create a separate account for each character. If you have a female character please make your next character a male and so on. Make sure your also very active with all your accounts.

    04. Do not post anywhere else on the board until your application has been posted. You may post under the OCC section with questions and such until your character has been accepted.

    05. You have three days after you have posted your application to complete it. Please try not to post WIP (work in progress) applications. If you only have add little things like a couple more traits and ‘dislikes’ and ‘likes’ that’s fine. We just don’t want tons of applications with just a picture, the character’s name, nicknames, DOB, and career and that’s it.

    06. If you need more time for your application, just PM an admin and they’ll give you more time.
    06. If you decide you would like to add or change some information about your application after it’s been locked, PM an admin or mod and they’ll open it back up for you.

    07. If your application is not complete within a week of registering your account, you will be sent a PM and if you don’t return after a day then the account will be deleted.
General Rules & Out-of-Character Posting
    01. Violet Hill is a Hollywood based RPG and like Hollywood will contain mature subject-matter. NP-17 profane language, sexual content, drugs, alcohol use, homosexual themes, violence.

    02. Be respectful. Don’t be bitchy, snobby, make inappropriate comments about other members, characters, and so on. We don’t want any tiffs on the site or c-box. Now, it’s different when your in-character. Obviously. But, don’t cross the line of IC comments into OC comments.

    03. Please refrain from using internet talk while you post in character unless your using the IC C-box.

    04. Although the staff at VH is always on the lookout for offensive content (religious, racial, sexuality, sexist slurs, etc.). If you think you see potentially offensive content, we ask that you please notify us immediately so that it can be reviewed and removed if necessary.
In-Character Posting
    01. You need to have at least three good paragraphs per post with 5-7 sentences minimum. If you want, you can obviously write more. Also, instead of writing 3 paragraphs with 5 to 7 sentences you can have 2 paragraphs with 7 to 10 or something like that.

    02. We understand if you have writers block, it happens to the best of us. If your muse is completely shot, it’s worth it to take a break. But, if you still feel like posting just make sure your short but sweet post can be replied to.

    03. If a topic contains mature themes (strong sexual content, extreme violence, something you would see on The Sopranos), please indicate that with a warning in the topic title or description or when you start to get into that content leave a space at the beginning of the starting post giving the warning.

    04. No god-mobbing unless the other person is okay with you controlling their character. Here's a hint, your favorite movie. Also, no over the top or plain Jane characters. No one can be that perfect beauty or that super druggy with all this drama. Make it somewhat realistic.

    05. If you need to post an OC comment in a post, please indicate that the comment is OC. (ie. OCC; oc: out-of-character)
