If you're still looking for an RP site, you might try Arapas Weyr run by Zulu.
And don't worry, she asked and received permission to base her Midnight dragons on our Midnight whers.
On the edge of the world, beyond memory or record, a Weyr lies forgotten. Arapas Weyr, resting in the mountains of the Western Continent, quiet and calm, continues with life just as the rest of the planet. But they too have forgotten their roots. It is the 9th Pass of the Red Star, and Arapas remains ignorant of the discoveries made in the South or the abandonment of five Weyrs to be brought forward 400 turns. Several turns have passed, and Thread continues to Fall as it always has and always will in the minds of the West. But the peace of this paradise is soon to be thrown out of balance.
With the arrival of a lone greenrider, her mind panicked in her transfer Between, Arapas learns of its forgotten neighbors. And discoveries of cotholds in the South where the riders of Arapas gathered fruit and feline pelts only confirms this knowledge. Arapas cannot remain a secret for long.

Arapas is a semi-canon, literate Pern Roleplay. One new color joins the ranks of the dragons, the Midnights, as well as the Dusks to the wher ranks. We are a new and unique RP experience, lying in the unexplored regions of the Western Continent and away from the politics and influence of the Northern Weyrs and their radical leaders. But with this isolation shattered, plots are just beginning to stir life into the Weyr, bringing with them radical changes to the Weyr's way of life.
There are several high ranking positions available for creation, including Weyrleader, Junior Weyrwoman, and two of the new Midnightriders.
Two clutches are hardening on the Sands. Black Midnight Serzyth's Twilight Dreams Clutch of 16 eggs awaits the Candidates necessary, while the As Days Go By firelizard clutch of 6 awaits anyone with a handful of meat in the Kitchens.
We are in need of active members to help get the Weyr on its feet and begin the plots in store. So. Do you think you have what it takes to survive in the West?
