Wher Hold sports the original five colors as well as three special colors.
Golds
The original queens of the wher and dragon world, queen whers grow to be 16-17 hands tall and are the largest whers. Their colors can range from a dark, burnished, brassy gold to a pale white gold. Lower colors cannot disobey a gold's orders, though Midnights can prove to be difficult for a weaker minded gold to command, though they will eventually listen.
Clutch size: 4-16 eggs
They impress mainly to girls, though male goldhandlers aren't unheard of.
Bronzes
Commonly mates of the golds, bronzes are the largest male and the second largest wher. They grow between 15-16 hands tall. Colors range from a dark, green bronze to a light olive bronze to an almost golden bronze.
They impress to males mainly, though females arent rare.
Burgundies
One of the new colors, burgundies function as bronzes and are the same size as their unmutated kin, being 15-16 hands tall at the whithers. They can range from an almost black, purpley-red to a bright burgundy. They prefer to chase Amethysts, but will go after golds on occasion.
They actually prefer to impress to females, but males aren't uncommon either.
Browns
Browns are the main power force of the whers' threadfighting wings as they are more common than bronzes and burgundies, but stronger than blues and greens. They can be between 14-15 hands high and vary in build greatly.
They impress to both girls and boys, tending more to boys.
Amethysts
Amethysts are the second new color and are one of the oddest. Their hides can be a light lavender to a stormy purple in coloration and their build is generally slightly chunky. They are a little larger than browns and are 15-15.3 hands high. Only about one in four amethysts are fertile, but when they do clutch, their clutches are known for having more metallics and specials in their clutch than golds.
Clutch size: 4-7 eggs
They impress mainly to girls, though boys are almost as common.
Blues
The second smallest males, blues can be an almost white blue to a dark navy. They grow up to be 13-14 hands and chase greens, though occasionally a braver one might chase an amethyst or gold since whers are like firelizards and any color can Chase any clutching female.
They impress to girl and boys equally.
Greens
Greens are the second smallest wher and grow from 12-13 hands high. Their hides can be a stark neon green to a mellow seagreen to even teal. Greens can clutch, but they will rarely produce anything higher than a blue and specials being clutched by a green is almost unheard of.
Clutch size: 1-6 eggs
They prefer women over men as a rule, but male greenhandlers are still common.
Midnights
Midnights are the last and smallest color mutation. They are smallest of all the whers, just a little bigger than a white wher would be, at 11 hands tall. They are incredibly strong for their size and they can carry their rider as long as said rider doesn't weigh more than 150 pounds. Their hides are always jet black with silver highlights that look as though liquid silver cascades down their hides. They can be either male or female, with females being fertile, but only able to produce more Midnights, and amazingly smart for a wher, sometimes sounding almost like a dragon. However, they still talk in third person like all the other whers.
Clutch size (if female): 1-3 eggs
Midnights always bond to a handler whose gender is the opposite of their own. So females bond to males and males to females.
