OOC; Ok, not the best starter ever, I'm sorry xD
IC; Flick's easy lope was slower today. The reason moved alongside him - he had not spent enough time with Etan, and he intended to rectify this. Despite his age, Flick had never before been a father, and therefore had relatively little experience with youngsters. It seemed to him, however, that perhaps a visit to a new land would interest the boy, and the soft sand of the Delta was very different to the tall deciduous trees of the Arden. Perhaps, they would meet some of the other youths who lived here. They would be older than his boy, but not too old to play, he didn't think.
As they walked in relative quiet along the white sands, Flick's emerald gaze turned to consider his son.
The boy had grown up. He was over half a year old, now, and his small stature was beginning to mature into a lithe, slim form, crying speed from every lean line. It would not be long until he lost all of his fluffy puppy fur, and the childish chubbiness all wolves endured in their first year. It would also not be long until his power emerged, and Flick wondered, would he have inherited this strange Reflection that he posessed? As far as he could tell, it was a relatively rare power, and it made him curious to see if it was passed on genetically. Of course, whatever Etan's power, it would be nursed, and he would be encouraged, that he could use it to best effect. A wry grin tugged Flick's lips - what parental pride was this?
"You've grown up fast - where's the time gone?"
The words came out of his mouth before he realised he had spoken. He did that often, nowadays. He knew he was old, now, but Flick was not planning on going senile any time soon.

Certainly, he was thoroughly surprised when his words fell upon, not deaf ears, but absent ones. A moment of absolute horror washed over him - where was Etan? The moment faded quickly enough, however, as he located the boy sniffing at something in the waves.
Grinning with relief, he changed direction and began to stroll leisurely over to the boy. He laughed at the long reach of green seaweed his son had found, it was certainly strange stuff.
"Well d-" he called, cut off when he noted the wave that was about to swamp Etan. With a slight yelp, Flick began to sprint the short remaining distance to the ocean.
Apparently, however, he feared more for the pup's safety than the boy himself. He saw as his son attempted to take a bite out of the ocean - and grinned as he remembered what had happened the first time he'd tasted seawater. Not a pleasant experience, and Etan agreed, from the look on his face. His scrunched-up muzzle wore such a cute, comical expression, and Flick had to laugh. He slowed his pace as the boy ran back to him, just above the tideline.
"No, I wouldn't if I were you. Maybe when you get a bit bigger, though, I'll teach you to swim." he replied warmly. Of course, these swimming lessons would have to be in one of the many small bodies of water that flowed into the sea; these were safer in that they were shallower, and the water was fresh. It also lessened the possibility of the boy being dragged out to sea - now that, Flick could not bear to think about it.
He looked down fondly at his son.
"Tell you what, we can play in the sand today, if you want." he told him with enthusiasm. Spending time with the boy he was so proud to call his son - this father would not miss these days for the world.

lol Etan is like ADD xD hope you don't mind I'm not giving you a lot of talking space and such I'll try to get better. I'm glade you like your table ^-^ I had troubles with his mohawky thing
Etan listened to his father speak about how one day he would teach him how to swim. Etan wasn't sure what swimming was but he could pin connect the dots, which included him almost getting eaten by the ocean and the his father proceeding to talk about this swimming thing. He was able to conclude what swimming could be - being able to go in the water and not get shoved around. He nodded his head his brow coming together as he decided that this would be a good idea. Okay sounds good. He said looking back up at his father as he continued to speak. Tell you what, we can play in the sand today, if you want. Etan smiled at his father a big toothy grin. Okay! Then his mouth closed slightly and he frowned. How are we supposed to play with sand? his brow crinkled again and his mouth closed on his tongue lightly so that a small pink tip poked out. His turquoise eyes looked at the world around him then slyly looked up at his dad. Suddenly Etan sprung away from his father and began to run down the shore line. He came to a large pile of sand and rolled over it his feet fly around in the air, he landed on his side and stayed like that for a few seconds deciding what he should do next. Because if his dad decided something who knew what they would! Perhaps they would just sit and build little sand pile. That wouldn't be any fun! Finally he jumped back up onto his feet and barked at his father happily. I bet I can dig a dipper hole then you! he said coming to the conclusion to do the opposite thing his dad might have suggested. ----------------------------- Words Thoughts

LMAO that is going to be epic 8D ADD child VS Buddhaish father <3 And yeah, I have issues with that too. It didn't occur to me when Flick was created, because at this point, I couldn't manip xD Sorry for the delay, btw.
In character
Flick laughed aloud at Etan's huge grin - he wanted nothing more for the boy than for that expession to grace his muzzle every day throughout his life.
However, his question was not entirely silly. He didn't know any sand games or anything like that - thinking back, his memories of the beach were hazy at best, but generally felt positive. Exactly how had he played in the sand? He was unsure. Maybe if they'd been in a bigger group, they could have built forts, or something.
Though distracted by these thoughts, Flick was not too distracted to miss his son's sly glance. Amused, he raised an eyebrow, and then suddenly, the boy was gone. Laughing, the old male took off in pursuit, stiffening muscles not yet completely frozen with age. He had always been fit and healthy in his youth.
When he reached the sand pile the boy had energetically flung himself over, said boy's father had to draw back quickly to avoid being hit in the face with his son's leaping body.
"Ha!" he teased the boy, green eyes sparkling, "I don't know about that. But I tell you what - if you win, you can bury me in the sand." he told the boy. Flick didn't much like the sand in his fur, but he could wash it out easily enough afterwards.
And besides. It was worth it.

| Nugget says, "
Her body rocked as her feet shuffled about and Howl's head rose curiously to watch as the female took a place on the sand. He wondered then if some plague had overcome her, whether he should leave before he too was infected. But Howl, indeed, was still a very young wolf... and, in a very loose sense of the word, naive.
