Ruach limped across the rough terrain, unsure of why she was here. She needed marigold, but she wasn't going to find it on a mountain... Dear Narsha, did her shoulder hurt. Despite the countless comfrey poultices, somehow, the tear Nyx had inflicted had become infected. So now she needed the marigold. She knew it was likely growing near the Okani River, but for some unbenounced reason, she'd ended up here. Fate? Or just plain absentmindedness?

This was unlike her, as she was usually careful to make sure she payed attention to where she was going. Her shoulder was burning now, and her sore paw wasn't faring well either. Since the snowstorm, the sight of any clouds made her too nervous to fly, so she was land-locked and miserable. "Oh, I give up," She growled crossly, laying on the nearest boulder and huffing a sigh.

Humming a gentle song to himself, he wandered over the borders of the Coven and into the glorious sights of Jael. The chaning leaves broadened all horizons. Never before had the old male seen such vibrant colors. He was used to the whiteness of the tundra and worshipping the White Goddess. He gazed about him in wonder, letting a sigh slip into his song. His teal eyes taking in, through a little bit of surprise, the wondrous painting that engulfed. He would have thought that he created it, but it was not him. He had never seen anything so beautiful.

Taking it in for a moment longer, he broke his eyes away to gaze at the reflecting ground, fallen leaves decorating it like a mosiac. Everywhere he looked the oranges, reds and yellows seemed to follow. He thought about turning back to the kinder and duller colors of the Navarro but forced himself to continue, curiosity driving him forth, a young pup in an old man's body.

The winds blew gently, sending the scent of raining ashes and a stranger of Blue Tears. Pausing for a moment in his song and small dancing hop, he looked towards the smell. In the mind of the beholder, he pondered on his choices. Should he bother the supposed enemy of the Coven? And then he remembered Tashella, the gentle creature of the sky. She too had been from Blue Tears.

So he stood there, his song ending too abruptly for his own good, as he kept his height and feet where they needed to be. Oh, desicions...

Thanks <3 I'll start that next post.

As her silvery eyes closed, the broken little halos of hiding creatures appeared in Ruach's inner sight. To her unpracticed eye, they all looked the same. No chance of disconcerning species. That could get annoying from time to time. Soon enough, she was aware of a larger figure lurking a fair distance away, only just within her narrow empathic range. The glow, a mudded teal-green, was a mere whisper of color against her black-sight. She knew that this was a wolf, but only because she recognised them best, being one herself.

The image lifted as Ruach released her vision, and in the same confounded nature of the other presence, she pondered. No scent carried her way, the wind flowed towards the other wolf. Dammit, this gave her away. She could confront them directly, but if such a case arose where she needed to fight, well, Nyx and Chetan would need to find some other focal point for their aggression. But if this wolf was no threat? Unlikely... the stranger was clearly larger than her, and that constituted danger, injured shoulder or not.

She decided to give the visitor the benefit of the doubt. Heaving herself back up and yelping sharply as she wrenched shoulder yet again, she limped laboriously back down the path she'd just taken. "Hello?" She called tentatively, voice soft as a whisper. She sniffed at the air, and the fur along her raised, distorting the marks along the scruff of her neck. Dark Coven.

He watched carelessly in the direction of the scent, which came his way ever so gently, brushing against him warmly. His gray fur moved laboressly with the breeze, as his teal eyes gazed forth. Truth be told, he wasn't sure what to expect, though the wind brought forth the likings of a female of the Narsha pack. He didn't budge, feeling a bit hollow inside, things seemed so out of place. The white angel with her blue colors trudged towards him, cautious in her ways, depsite her own choice to come to him.

Different in demeanor from the black furred ones that seemed to come upon him like hounds, this one was a bit larger in size than the other two he had the wonderful pleasure of encountering. He almost wanted to roll his eyes at the thought, as the butterfly wolf hadn't been the most pleasant meeting in the world. But she ended up soft, which made him smile gently at the approaching female.

He saw her tense though, as she leaned forward ever so slightly to take him in. Coven and Blue One. "Hello," he replied, cheerfully. Mustn't come off too dangerous, though he couldn't help but wonder who would think him a threat. An old and weary man who only wanted peace in these lands that he lived upon. "Be at ease, child. We are so far away from being enemies at this moment. Night's Fire seems to hold my alpha's eye in war." Another sigh left him at the thought.

Carefully lowering himself into a sitting position, he avoided stepping on his foot, after all it had not fully healed after his ever exciting chat with the butterfly. He smiled once more, thinking back to that flustering moment in time, but his eyes kept focus on the stranger's face, examining it and remembering it for later purposes.

"Forgive me dear, Arren Forlok. And yourself?" His eyes twinkled with kindness and joy with life. A pup in an old man's body, such a cage. How he wished to prance through the streams and forests once more with ease, without the endless pains of aging. Young ones had it so nice.

This battered old male, who's teal eyes shone with the light of a pup's, was clearly no threat, even weakened as she was with this wicked infection. On his invitation, she trudged a few steps closer. As she tried to sit down, she placed her bad foreleg too soon and it gave way. Ruach collapsed into a stunned heap of snow-and-ice fur and a bundle of feathers. For a long, irritated moment, she laid there, her cheek chilled by the hard stone.

Eventually deciding it foolish to simply stay there, she thrust herself back up, cursing Nyx viciousy under her breath. Ruach leaned on her good side and shook the pale dust out of her pelt, which was already thickening for winter. Her feathers stretched and folded, hanging above her like she was an eagle preparing to jetison herself off a cliff. Her long, graceful wings, coupled with her comparitively slight and fragile frame gave her a mismatched kind of look, although the grace of both complimented each other.

Only she didn't feel graceful today. She felt like a badger, with the undignified way she had to lumber about. She glanced at the male in front of her, who declared himself as Arren Forlok. "I'm Ruach Aeterna, sir, the 'spirit eternal'. Normally I move like a ghost, but you've not caught me in one of my finer moments." She happened to raise her gaze up to the sky just then, and her eyes widened in horror. Her leg yowled in agonizing protest as she went rigid. "Oh, Narsha, no!" She wailed, "Fire!!" Not now, when I can barely even move!

She seemed weak and fragile, brusied and battered more than he. Though both of them seemed to hold some sort of foot problem. He stepped closer in aid as she fell to the ground. "Miss, may I assist you in anyway?" But she was quick to return to her feet, showing weakness apparently wasn't an option.

He examined her strange sky colored designs that rushed across her body with elegance and grace. Ruach Aeterna, an eternal spirit, who was not having a good day, despite her usual fluidity. He grinned at her, but it faded quickly as horror split across her face and the word fire escaped her lips.

He followed her fear-struck eyes, to see the smoke rising and the brightness and heat come again. "Yes. It is fire," he said thoughtfully, letting it sink in. He had already experienced a fire but then he was in the safety of the ice tundras of the Goddess. "We must move up to the mountain, it will not catch us there," he spoke with exceeding haste, as his eyes glanced back at the female.

Nugget says, " Her body rocked as her feet shuffled about and Howl's head rose curiously to watch as the female took a place on the sand. He wondered then if some plague had overcome her, whether he should leave before he too was infected. But Howl, indeed, was still a very young wolf... and, in a very loose sense of the word, naive. "
