Well I don't mind, if you don't mind

For GOLD WING MAN <3
ic:
Pulled further into the coldness, cooling the stinging pain which he had put himself through. He was grateful for it though, as long as the fiery angel was alright, he would make it through another day. The boy was completely lovestruck, as he made his way timidly across the flat and raging land. He searched for something to hide away in, but found nothing on the barren land. He realized that he was attached to the hip to these lands, forever in their debt for giving him his dearest treasure and most profound feeling.
But the lightning shock had knocked out a lot of energy from the boy. And he was surprised as his terrible luck. He always had some kind of injury on him. And he knew that his luck with meeting Crescent on such a day like it had been, was a one in a millionth of a chance. Their strength had been godly on that single and glorious day, where they had ruled the world. That day she had healed all wounds that had been inflicted before that. But sadly, they did not protect him from the future ones, as he had quickly figured out.
He could only hope that it didn't last and that the freezing air would numb away the pain, despite his disliking to the strange sensation that had made him loose the pain. But he ignored it and thought of something better, or more presicely, someone better. Her feather face lit up in his mind, as he continued, turning to start home. It had been long since he had seen Ithil and spoken with Vinfe. He grinned, as he thought of what Ithil might do. He had learned much of his antlered mother, she was kind and gentle, but if messed with, dangerous and lethal. He remembered cleary the day of the snowstorm, the time when he had almost frozen to death, had it not been for the three-legged wolf and Eclipse, who had, despite his gruff appearance, given Nikita warmth and protection. Though his intentions were unclear to the boy, Eclipse had left an oddly good impression on him.
He pondered over the past with absentmindedness, pressing his enlarged wings closer to him. And once more, his palid eyes searched across the land for shelter, something to recover in. But being in the center of nowhere land did not help with his mission of finding safety.

Ebony fur rang out against the cool white of the northern tundra as paws tread across the snow. It was too early for the thick pack-ice to harden completely, making the snow crunch slightly under each step as his weight passed over, and left slight indentations in the snow to mark the trail where he had been. Cerulean eyes looked forward as his pace slowed, following a figure up ahead. It appeared to be a younger wolf, brightly and beautifully colored and Korin couldn't help but pause on his way to stare for a moment.
Where was the rest of the pack? He did not turn to look over his shoulder, knowing they were nowhere behind him. Night's Fire had been ravaged by flames so many times before, Korin wondered how the forest wasn't just a pile of ashen logs and smoldered remains. But, at least this way, perhaps the wolves there were well versed in fire survival strategies. Korin himself could remember nearly two winters ago when a fire had ravaged the lands. Was this any worse than that time?
The only difference was that he was with a new family now.
Korin ruffled his wings suddenly, shaking off the snow that was beginning to stick among the feathers. There was an aweful gray tinge to the snow though: remnants of ash that had fallen while escaping the forest. Moving away from the gray patch in the snow where the flecks of ash fell from his shake, the black male moved toward the other. Perhaps, he too was fleeing some something.

Well I don't mind, if you don't mind
The boy only vaguely noted the other wolf the trailed behind him. And with a gust of wind, he smelled Night's Fire. He was almost thrilled of the fact that his scent was of Dawn's Omen. For even though most spared the young and foolish, he could never be to careful. Plus, he was not truly part of the Coven, just resided there without anyone's consent but Vinfe's.
He glanced back once, curiosity finally beating him. A black wolf with bright golden wings lingered not far behind him. Covered in soot and snow, he was an older male with bright eyes that gleamed in the glowing tundra. He was fleeing from the fires, the boy guessed. But he was surprised that he saw no other wolf or critter rushing from the flames.
When he looked back, the male was nearing him, and Nikita couldn't help but feel like he should know this wolf, if not in person, then in name. He thought back, silver eyes resting on the growing figure that neared him. And gold wing man slowly came nearer, which caused the boy to stop and wait, mostly to accompany him the older wolf. But his true intention was a want to learn the true identity of the wolf of glorious wings.
Maybe from a story told to him once before? The boy couldn't truly remember, he had been so young, so oblivious to the details. As he tried to recall his true mother's words, nothing could really ring a bell.

ooc. How old is Nikita now?
ic.
As he neared the younger wolf, Korin's pace slowed until he came to a stop before the boy. It seemed the two were simply going to watch each other until the other said something, but Korin didn't wait long before speaking. "Hello," he said gently, taking in the boy's scent. It smelled of salt and sea. He knew there was a pack to the south, but honestly the old-young male knew every little about the area. He didn't even know the name of the pack there. Maybe this boy was from there?
"Running away too, I suppose?" He said after a moment, referring to the fires. His head swivelled to look southward along the trail where he'd been, eyes glancing up to the smoke filled sky that was a murky gray color hanging in the distance. There certainly was something strange going on here... even Korin had noticed the faint star that hung just over the horizon in the sky.
He wondered if Alsana was testing them.
With a sigh, he turned and looked back to the boy. Where was this child's family? His friends? It seemed awkward enough that Korin was alone, but he was an adult. This boy seemed hardly old enough to be wandering the frozen north by himself.

Well I don't mind, if you don't mind
The golden winged male stopped before him, contrasting drastically with the comparably pale surroundings. "Hello," he smiled in return, nodding his head slightly. The smell of fire deeply engraved in the unwavering black fur. "I guess, though I've been here for a while really. Probably shouldn't have left the tree though, it was warmer in there," he trailed off, adding in a couple of unneeded remarks, vaguely reminding himself of the wonderful warmth that had truly surrounded him.
He watched the other, curious of where he knew the wolf from. He seemed so familiar, but the boy just couldn't put his finger on the name or place where he had heard of a golden wings, vibrant inky fur and sapphire eyes, just like this male. But Nikita had imagined him a bit older, but that was because in his mind beings over three were old and considered a bit untrustworthy.
His silver eyes turned thoughtful as he thought back, to the first months of his life, when Trigger had still lived to tell tall tales and teach life lessons. "Did you know my mum?" he asked, not really realizing that the question was so out of the blue and how could the stranger even know who he was talking about? Despite the similarities that mother and son shared, most couldn't tell that he was the son of a wondrous female, or at least he never met any that did, and Ithil didn't count, since she had had a special connection with his mother. But if he looked hard enough, things became undoubtedly clear, no?

ooc. Sorry it took so long. *dies* And sorry it's so short.

Somehow he couldn't help but compare the boy to Chetan just then. Korin could remember that day years ago when Chetan had stumbled upon the Arden looking for his mother, Takashi close behind offering her assistance. It was a bit odd, looking back now, that the pair of strangers would end up together at that moment and then turn against each other later. Korin wondered if their wounds had ever been mended between them. He sighed... it had been out here, in this very land, that he'd first tried to fix their relationship, but Korin had been away so long he couldn't say for sure how the two of them were doing. Did it matter though? Takashi had followed him to Night's Fire, and Chetan... Chetan was in his home with Nyx.
Where was Korin?
"I can't say for sure," Korin said hesitantly, somewhat confused by the question. "Who are you exactly? Your mother could be anyone really, the way you ask it." He could have been anyone's child for all Korin knew; luck had a way of sending lost children his way. It seemed the entirety of Blue Tears had been founded on the fact Korin was a bleeding heart and wanted to take care of them all.
The smell of smoke drifted on the wind and he wondered if they had escaped the blaze. "I'm Korin Xyla. I don't think I know you..."

He watched the older male, looking for any sign of sparks flying and igniting. Nothing. The golden winged wolf did not recognize the silver eyes that looked at him, nor the dragon wings that sprang from his back. The boy nodded slowly, as the realization hit him that his question was extremely vague. Still, he could have hope. He was about to speak when the stranger continued, introducing himself as the one and only...Korin Xyla.
The name hit him like a thunderbolt. This was the one, the stories came and went in his mind, but that name had lingered in the shadows of his mind. "I'm Nikita Gobi," he returned, watchign him with brightening eyes, "And my mum was Trigger." Her calling rolled off his tongue, leaving a small tingling feeling behind. She had left him, wanted him to be happy with Vinfe and Ithil and with the friends he made and would make. And could hardly even remember her, except for her endless stories and lessons that seemed engraved in his system.
He gazed, expectantly, at Korin. Waiting for a reaction, some lightbulb turning on upstairs. One didn't easily forget the important ones, that much Nikita had figured out for himself.

Nikita Trigger Gobi. He hardly needed for the boy to tell him who his mother was once his name was finished. Korin looked at the yearling, speechless for a moment. At first thought, why was the boy out here? And second, Trigger had a son? He wondered when it was that she had carried the boy or what had become of her afterward. Korin could remember the times they'd spoke. She'd been the only one to challenge him, the only one who it seemed really cared for what he had to say, and the only one who remembered who he really was. And this boy here, was her son.
Korin nodded. "I see." He said softly. "What are you doing out here then?" Somehow, Korin couldn't ask the question he'd really wanted to. He couldn't ask "where is Trigger?" A part of him was afraid of the answer. Death was something he'd seen a lot of through the years, but even so - this was a friend of his. He couldn't imagine how old Trigger must have been now. Five. Six. Time seemed to slip by, even just the past few years when he'd led Blue Tears. All of them had grown up. "Did the fires spread to your home too?"
Where was home? Not only for Nikita, but Korin. His head turned momentarily as he looked back to where the forests were, far away. There was his home, burning to ashes while he fled. And there, somewhere in that smoke, was a blackened forest where he lived now, a place so used to flames he wondered how it was still standing at all.

Well I don't mind, if you don't mind
The obvious recognition was there, as some thoughtfulness fell over the older male. Nikita watched with never-ending patience. This had been the character of some stories, only he was real and stood right before the boy. What was he doing out here? Fleeing? Sheltering? Trying to find some peace in these lands. Though his peace had stayed in the tree den with Lunera. But those moments couldn't last forever, despite all his wishes for her.
He looked away from the dazzling black male, shifting his eyes to the ground in saddening thought. That hidden den in the plains of the Navarro was his home, it was where he was raised and sheltered in. He wandered so much around the lands that everytime he returned there, he was greeted with warmth and love, snuggling in the gentle heat of the youthful den, Ithil close by and with Vinfe not straying to far from his thoughts. "I haven't been home in a while, but I hope not."
He moved his gaze to the golden wings of the ebon male. They glittered with feriocity under the brightness of the tundra and reminded him so much of the feathers of Lunera. Even in times of trouble and suspence, there always seemed to time for the most important things. And he remembered the tiger lily that he had found on the day of her death, and for a moment his eyes watered ever so slightly. He blinked the wetness away, before turning his attention to Korin once more, for he too seemed lost in thought, drifting away into his own little world.

| Nugget says, "
Her body rocked as her feet shuffled about and Howl's head rose curiously to watch as the female took a place on the sand. He wondered then if some plague had overcome her, whether he should leave before he too was infected. But Howl, indeed, was still a very young wolf... and, in a very loose sense of the word, naive.
