Nov 20 Stage 3 is now open! Be sure to read all the rules for the prizes carefully. Lith, Eido, and Saph will be handling it this week while I'm away. If no stone is found before I return, I'll randomly select a thread to place it in when I get back. <3 Have lots of fun. Feel free to finish up your stage 2 threads. I'll be back Nov 30. {K}

Nov 13 I fixed a few of the trophy images. Mysterious Magic is a slighty different hue. I also brought back Spooky Jack (so you can get that if you participated this year or last year (or both). There is also an image up for the CCW (Magic Mayhem) for the winners of that. {K}

Nov 13 New skin! Hey, check out this discussion for Skin-Tastic Members. Hey guys, it's almost time for Never-Ending threads sign-ups. Here's an idea, also... why not put your player awards, character awards, and defunct character awards in your post log? I'm volunteering for anyone who wants, I'll format your post log like mine with your trophies. EXAMPLE. {K}

Regions
territories and the No-Wolf-Zone

Instead of having each pack preformed with a board as their territory, our packs occupy regions. A region is a geographical area which can be inhabited by several packs as well as loners. Regions are split between packs, with some room in between borders for lone wolves to roam. It is up to the players to specify in what area/territory within a region the thread takes place. The point of Regions is to encourage inter-pack interactions.

You must specify out of character at the top of any new thread indicating which territory the thread is in. If your character is not in a territory then roleplay is in a "No-Wolf-Zone" or "NWZ".

Hierarchy
the standard ranks of the wolf pack

  • Alpha(s) -- (1-2) The pack leader. This wolf creates the laws for the pack, declares war, and banishes members. They are in charge of maintaining the hierarchy within the pack.
  • Beta(s) -- (1) Second in command. This wolf is a back-up for the alpha. He/she stands in whenever the alpha is not present and assists the alpha in any way possible.
  • Subordinates -- (unlimited) Average members. These wolves are the life of the pack. These wolves have proven themselves as worthy packmembers. Only these members may hold duty ranks.
  • Pledges-- (unlimited) These are newcomers to the pack who have not proven themselves as worthy packmembers. They must challenge another pack wolf (even another pledge) to a rank fight or participate in a pack event called by the alpha or beta in order to become a subordinate. Even if they lose the challenge they will become a subordinate.
* Note that no two subordinates are the same rank. Within the subordinate rank there is hierarchy. Those listed closest to the top of the pack ranks are higher in rank and should be respected. Those closer to the bottom (nearest the Pledge group) are lower in rank and should show submission.

Duties
duties for the working folk

Subordinates are encouraged to have pack duties (but are not required to). Duty ranks allow wolves to perform daily tasks and functions for their pack. A duty rank can be held by only one wolf (with the exception of Apprentices). A wolf must demonstrate the duty ICly in 2 threads, then PM the alpha asking to be awarded the duty rank.

  • Apprentice - Wolves under 2 years may hold this rank to train and gain knowledge needed to obtain a duty rank once they are older. This rank may be held by multiple wolves.
  • Shaman - Interacts with dead spirits and ghosts, predicts the future by reading the stars, is an expert on weather signals.
  • Historian - Keeps records of major pack events and hands down to younger generations, as well as tells stories and legends.
  • Healer - Cares for sick or injured wolves and has a vast knowledge of herbal remedies, potions, and poisons.
  • Sentry - Patrols the borders, scouts for landmarks and trespassers, and is a warrior for the pack.
  • Elitum - Gives advice to packmembers, disciplines and cares for pups, and keeps peace by enforcing pack law.
  • Gatherer - Provides for the pack by leading hunts, fishing, and gathering/searching for edible plants.
