Contests a listing of the contests All contests will begin on the first of the month and end on the last day of the month unless otherwise noted. Contest threads/announcements are held in the Lounge. Contests are judged by popular vote unless otherwise stated. Feel free to display your trophy images in your signature when you win a contest. Not only do you win a cool award, but most contests also give out a 1 Tier upgrade to your magic (and sometimes for very special occasions we give out new powers!) We congratulate all winners and wish participants the best of luck. Trophy Month Description Jan Never-Ending Thread Partners may start pairing in November; threads begin 12/1 and end 1/30. Teams of 2-3 try to keep a thread active for two months. Entries are judged based on the number of replies and overall activity of the thread at the end of the contest. Each winner gets a 1 tier upgrade. Feb Sexiest Wolf The handsomeness, most mysterious and popular character on the site. What you perceive as sexy is up to you. Nominate up to 3 characters by replying with their names in this thread. The top 2 will go on to the polls. Nominations start 1/20. Polling begins 2/1 and ends 2/14. The winner will receive a 1 tier upgrade. Mar Anniversary and Yearbook March is Wolf’s Requiem’s birthday, so instead of a contest we celebrate with a yearbook! More to be added… Apr Most Cliché Thread These threads are purely for fun and have no impact on IC relationships. Threads can be in teams of 2-4. These threads are meant to be well written, but with incredibly poor taste in themes and dialogue. Think of daytime television, old cheesy-movies, and dime store novels. Predictable, overused silliness is the goal of this thread. The winners will be polled on at the end of the month. The team which makes the most LOLs will receive tier upgrades. May Character Trivia At the beginning of the month each character submits questions for people to answer about their character. The answers to the questions are hidden (profiles, archives, threads). The questions are compiled into a trivia sheet. Members send their answers to the admin and at the end of the month we’ll release the answers. The person(s) with the highest score correct wins a tier upgrade. June-July Fan-Fiction Submit a short fan fiction related to WR and/or WR characters. Entries should be no longer than 2000 words. Characters may be altered for fictional purposes and mock-roleplays are acceptable. Submit as a thread in the Lounge. Entries are accepted from the beginning to June to the second to last week of July. Polling and announcement of winners is at the end of July. Aug Contest Contest Create a contest to be used next month! This can be anything you want it to be so long as it is fair and approved by the admin. You get to chose the criteria, chose who judges (you, admin, popular vote), the prize (tier, etc.) or anything else you’d like. You may work in teams to create a contest. Winners get a 1 tier upgrade. Sept Contest Contest Winner The winning Contest of the previous month’s Contest Contest is held. Prize and award depends on the creator. Oct Best Character Nominate a character (NOT a player) that is well designed, played and original. Players can submit up to 2 characters that are not their own and must supply a reason why they are nominating that character. The top three nominees will be voted on at the end of the month. Nov Harvest Gift Giving In the spirit of the holidays, this contest is a form of Secret Santa. In the first week of November members can sign up to be in the drawing. Members are randomly paired for the month. In order to receive the award you must give something to your partner. This could be the gift of arts, a table, a short-story, a sonnet about their character or just a private thread. This is meant to be a “give what you can” type of thread, you don’t need to go all out instead just be thoughtful. Dec Incredibly Valuable Member (IVM) This award is given out annually to a member which the staff feels has contributed greatly to the site over the past year. These members are indispensible assets to the game and we’d like to honor and recognize their dedication. This is the highest honor a member can achieve. And of course, thank you to all our members, your activity, loyalty, time and effort have not been wasted. Thank you for making this last year a great one! Awards a listing of the awards Awards can be earned simply by fulfilling the needed task that the award requires. To apply for an award, reply to this thread with your character's name, the award you wish to apply for, and any necessary links or threads needed to verify that you have fulfilled the requirements of the award. Trophy Description Multiple Character Award Have at least three characters and keep them active for three months. Master Magic Award Achieve the highest tier of magic (VIII) though training and winning contests! This doesn’t apply to Demigods or Shard-holders. Pack Member Join a pack and remain as an active member in that pack for 3 months. Applicants must submit 3 threads from their pack territory showing their activity. Pack Duty Acquire a pack duty and and actively perform the duty in 2 threads (each with at least 3 replies). Leader Rank Hold an alpha, beta for at least 2 months. Applicants must submit 2 threads of their character exercising his/her duties within this rank. Mateship Acquire a mate and remain as such for at least one month. Applicants must submit a thread showing the mateship of the characters (showing mateship NOT mating). Offspring Father or Mother at least one pup. Applicants must submit the birthing thread to verify. Boardwide Plot Participate in a boardwide plot. Applicant must have at least 3 posts in the plot thread. Shard of Narsha Carry a shard of Narsha for at least one month. Applicants must submit 1 thread showing their character in possession of the shard. Spooky Jack Participate in the Spooky Jack thread on Halloween. Staff Awards prestigous awards given by staff Trophy Description EPIC Award Given for exceptional post quality, cool threads, or awesome plots. This award is given only to the most unique, epic events. You may nominate someone (not yourself) for this by pming Korin. Given only by Korin. Mysterious Magic Given for unique posts using magic or a dedication to a character's magical art. Characters who show devotion and creativity using their magic will recieve this award. You my nominate someone (not yourself) for this by pming Saphiice. Given only by Saphiice. Coming Soon Radical Award Given for being an especially cool person or having a creative character. This could be anything from personality flare to unique character design. You may nominate someone (not yourself) for this by pming Salem. Given only by Salem. Coming Soon Helping Hand Given for being a helpful to new members who have questions. This does not mean intruding in the maintenance thread. Try picking up a thread with a newcomer, volunteering art or plots, answering questions, or just being friendly. You can nominate someone (not yourself) for this by pming Eidolon. Given only by Eidolon. Displaying Awards adding them to your signature/profile Awards can be placed anywhere you'd like. Most common is in the signature or the profile. To do this, right click on the award image and copy the URL. It's okay to direct link.
